I hope that wasn't surprising. In any case, I'm drafting on the assumption that it is a 5 batting category + 5 pitching category league and there are position limitations? Whatever. Pujols in any case.

Hey, if you guys are looking for someone else to join I'd be up for it, just remembered the PM when I saw this thread. ;P Got no problems starting at the back of the picking order.

We snaking? I'll also be picking as though it was for your standard 5x5 cat roto, thems are all I play (head to head baseball leagues suck, good for football though).

Drek, BroncoLB52 and I are lifelong roto freaks. I know I can speak for him when I say we would be thrilled to have you participate. Your football perspectives are always first rate, so I know you'll draft an excellent team.

I PMed Breck Bronc and he expressed interest, too.

As far as I'm concerned...Drek is in.

Slap...what's going on with this thing? Are we just drafting...or is this going to turn into some sort of league? If so what is valued in players? I have no idea what fantasy/roto baseball is all about. BroncoLB52 just shot me a PM asking me to take part, so I'm going in blind here.

I'm on deck and I've got two players in mind, and if both are available I'd like to know what sort of criteria I should use in making a decision.

I'm going to go with Carl Crawford. He hits for good average, has some pop in his bat, drives in and scores a good amount of runs, and is an absolute terror on the base paths. He's an all around fine offensive player.

I am perhaps taking him a few slots too high, but I am sure we haven't seen the best of Crawford yet.

Chase Utley, 2B, Philadelphia Phillies.

With a pitcher a shortstop among my top three picks, I should probably grab a big time power hitter here. Instead, I'm going to stay true to my overall draft board and go best player available, which will also allow me to capitalize on some position scarcity.

I propose that once we get to the begining of a new round that each person pick two players when it is their turn...That will speed up the process quite a bit.

Not a bad idea, maybe we can also line up a period of several hours when we'll all be on to draft through a good chunk of it. I'd imagine if we're all on it wouldn't take more than an hour to get through a round.
