McGAHEE TO RAVENS TONIGHT OR TOMORROW?
A league source tells us that there's a good chance that the Buffalo Bill will trade running back Willis McGahee to the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday night or Thursday.
Per the source, there are a couple of other teams still in the hunt for McGahee. As of now, however, the Ravens are at the front of the pack.
Also, a reader tells us that there are reports on Sirius NFL Radio that such a trade would entail Baltimore sending a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick to Buffalo.
If the trade happens, Ravens likely will be signing McGahee to a long-term deal. Based on recent contracts, McGahee could get $20 million in guaranteed money. (Ray Lewis will be thrilled with that.)
Meanwhile, the Bills are looking for McGahee's eventual replacement. Chris Brown visited Buffalo on Wednesday, and Corey Dillon is up next.
If that's the return, thank you Shanny for not bringing him in. Nice job Marv if it is the return.

That is a lot if confirmed. A 2nd & 5th? Baltimore better atleast sign him to an extension.
This doesn't say much for jamal lewis if the Ravens are sending multiple picks for Willis, who is in his last year of his contract.
NFL network just reported that they might bring JA back and skip on McGehee. JA was in Cleveland today but still nobody is beating the Raven's 1 year offer. So, I think Jamal is gonna take the Ravens offer for another year and McGehee will end up somehwere else. Who knows.

A 2nd and 5th round pick is not much compensation for a stud 25 year old running back who is entering his prime.
What did you think the Bills were going to get back for him, a 4th round pick? Good grief.

Damn, if a career ypc of 3.9 equals a "stud runningback," what do you use to describe someone like Tomlinson?
That 990 yd performance this year was awesome too.

Over at finheaven they are saying Sirius is reporting that the deal is done and it's a 2nd and 5th round picks for next years draft. I'm thinking they probably just heard it wrong.

It is not as if Willis was playing in a system and behind an offensive line that was very conducive to racking up big running numbers. Buffalo's offensive line has been in shambles since he got there. Mike Williams ring a bell? And you have to remember, this guy has been playing New England and Miami four times a year which definitely skews his running numbers.
I think I just saw on ESPN that Lewis got inked at Cleveland.
I sorta like McGehee but man, I can't get visions of that knee injury out of my head. I'm just not sure how you come back from that........and be productive for a long time.

Boy, I'm glad the Broncos didn't sign this guy.
I'd heard he was going to swing by Denver early this week...before the opportunity to grab Travis Henry popped up.
I'm guessing Mike Shanahans' good friend Jeff Fisher gave Denver a heads up on his release from the Titans..setting up the surprisingly quick signing.
