So looks like they can still do some hunting for free agents.

He did this a couple days ago, there's the room for the Henry signing and a decent chunk of the room needed for Graham's signing.

Link please...

Champ Bailey is willing to do this after the Nate Clements situation...but then again the Nate Clements situation isn't what everyone thinks he is. He's not making 10 mill a year.

They just moved it into guaranteed money. BFD.

ROFL!

But it makes him a team player

Exactly I will never understand why hard core fans such as we have here this time of the year somehow think a restructure is a sacrifice for the player.

It's like your boss asking you do you want your salary now or should I pay you every month like we have been doing.

Exactly......however, my question is did we give him any ADDITIONAL amounts, other than what was already in his original contract?

LMAO, I like Champ but saying that he took one for the team b/c he took some money that wasn't guaranteed and turned it into guranteed money is funny.

Hey, you're suppose to make 10 million dollars this year. We want to give you 5.5 million dollars though. So, we'll give you a "Bonus" of 4.5 million and say that we're paying you 5.5 mill this season. That way we can spread that 4.5 mil over the next 4 years.

What a team player!

If it helped the team in ANY WAY that makes him a team player. He helped us, would we have had Henry or Graham without his help ? Probably not. He helped us, STFU about him not being a team player.

bottom line is champ deserves his money now whether he gets it now and save the team some cap room or later, i really dont care.

And then some. Travis only counts $1.9m against the cap this year and only adjusts the total by $1.6m

This is old news. There was a thread on this somewhere. It's why we were able to get Henry and Graham.

You need a certain type of player to do this, because you're basically trusting them to play hard, despite the fact that you've already paid them. That's why you'd never see a headline like Darryl Gardener Agrees to Restructure Contract to Save Cap Space. It's always guys like Elway, Rod Smith, TD, Champ Bailey, Shannon Sharpe, etc - guys that are trustworthy; guys that have personal pride. It's really quite a compliment, I think.

Think about taking Pacman Jones and saying, "Listen, man - we're going to advance you 70% of your pay from the next three years. We expect you to play just as hard as you would if you were working for the bigger check from week to week." If word got out about something like that, you'd have otherwise sweet, innocent girls going into the stripping business - just for the short-term payday.

What Denver did is take money that he hadn't earned yet and gave it to him now as a signing bonus thus lowering his cap figure.
