Denver is still in it and has moved up their offer over the last 24 hours. It's basically going to come down to if Seattle can outbid them. But I would say if Seattle comes pretty close he signs with them. Graham knows his role would be bigger with Seattle than with Denver where they already have a pass catching tight end.
Stay tuned.

If those Seahawk ******* outbid us for another player again I think I'll scream.

Sounds like our bid may be higher but he may go with Seattle because he'll have increased receiving opportunities. If that's what he's looking for, we simply can't offer him that. Wouldn't be the fault of the front office; all you can ask of them is to field a competitive offer. If he wants to get more receptions then there is really nothing we can offer him on that front, other than lie to him of course ;D

This is just getting ridiculous. The Seahags really want their boy.
What a strange offseason.
Dre Bly says F*** you denver (now i see why Marinelli didnt want to deal with this punk)
Kerney goes to the Hags (Damn Paul Allen and his private jet)
And DG is probably on his way to the Hags to. (hes probably going to sign while onboard Allen's plane as well)
Next time we play the Seahags, i hope we stick it to those punks. Cutler to Walker for a 65 yard TD bomb on the first play just to embarass them.

Yeah so do I, I am just being homerish. He sure is sticking around up there, if he is still up there, so they must be close to Denver's. THis is crazy Jon Clayton says he thinks Denver lands him and this Caplan guy thinks its the other way.

If he proves he's a better receiver than Scheffler, then he'll probably get more receiving opportunities here.

Yeah but you can only tell a player that. In Seattle he is definate as they are cutting ties with that hack Jeremey Stevens.

LOL we should tell them that Scheff has a horrible drinking problem and we don't expect him to be around next year.

I just don't agree that Graham would get a lot more chances to catch passes in Seattle than with the Broncos. First, I doubt the Broncos would be wasting time with Graham if totally sold on Scheffler.
If Graham signs, he would get plenty of chances since other than Walker, what other receivers does this team have that are proven? Rod is older and now hurt and who knows what his status will be, especially with his cap number so high, who knows what happens with Rod and Marshall will probably start over him anyway and he's not proven either.

Yeah but its not guranteed. Who really knows what is going on. Paul Allen probably has developed some computer program that uses holographic images combined with VR reality glasses and laser tag to give him the feel for things.

Neither does David Kircus. Just read on another forum that they had a dust-up in Detroit and Bly came off the worst for wears. Apparently Kircus used to burn his ass off in practice and Bly didn't take Kircus goading about it too well. Worse still if we're in the market for Joey Harrington there's no way Bly will want to come here.

Schefter usually reports the comings and goings and has been mum so I am assuming he is still in the Seattle reagion

In 2001 Desmond Clark had 51 catches, Dwayne Carswell had 34. Given, this was a year that the Broncos were thin at WR, but still that 34 balls is more than Graham has seen in 3 years.
There have been other years in Shanahan's offense where Sharpe led the entire team in receptions (96, and 97 in particular) with 70 + catches. With Scheffler being so young it would be the perfect opportunity to get both guys 35-40 catches.

Someone asked about Kerney deal and Caplan said the Seahawks made it so that it would be almost impossible for Denver to match with the bonus structure.

re: Bly's desire to play. What every seems to keep forgetting is HE HAS NO CHOICE. If Denver wants him there, he's not going to tank it in a contract year, plus he's a competitor if you've ever watched him play. He has too much pride to tank it. So he'll play and play hard. And why would he care if Joey Harrington becomes a bronco? Joey steal his woman?

I believe the seahags are on my top 10 of despised teams list now. They've srewed us on other free agents in previous years. Lets get one back with getting Graham dammit !

Seriously...Just because he's a top blocking TE, doesn't mean he should be the top paid TE. Hell, I'd rather have Mustard as the blocking TE rather than Graham, and use the money elsewhere.

The value of Graham is that he is a total package, he is a top of the line blocker who can catch and catch well. The reason Shanny wants him is because the guy is a nightmare in the redzone.
I'd love to get the guy, but I don't see it happening.

The Broncos made their another huge free-agent splash Tuesday night by signing New England tight end Daniel Graham to a five-year contract.
The Thomas Jefferson High School graduate and former CU star signed a $30 million deal with $15 million in guaranteed money.
Graham is the second big-ticket player Denver has signed in the past two days. The Broncos signed running back Travis Henry to a five-year deal with $12 million in guarantees on Monday.
Well... won't have to worry about any stupid mock drafts having us pick TE's anymore.

GRAHAM SIGNS WITH BRONCOS
Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Adam Schefter of the NFL Network report that the Denver Broncos have signed tight end Daniel Graham to a five-year, $30 million contract, which includes $15 million in guaranteed money.
Graham, primarily a blocking tight end with the Patriots, reportedly wants to be more involved in the passing game. In 2006, the Broncos selected tight end Tony Scheffler in the second round of the draft. Scheffler caught 18 passes for 286 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie.
Graham also drew interest from the Raiders and the Seahawks.

Tight end Daniel Graham is No. 5 on ESPN.com's list of the top NFL free agents on the market. Story (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2784159)
• Scouting report (http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/players/scouting?statsId=5907) http://espn.go.com/i/in.gif </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
After losing defensive end Patrick Kerney (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=4679) in a bidding war to the Seattle Seahawks (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=sea), the Denver Broncos (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=den) weren't going to be outdone.
The Broncos outbid the Seahawks for Patriots tight end Daniel Graham (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5907) in a negotiation that went well into Tuesday. Graham ended up with a five-year, $30 million deal from the Broncos that included $15 million in guarantees.
As negotiations drew to a close, Graham was torn as to which team was best for him. The idea of getting back to Colorado appealed to him. He went to high school in Denver. But the Seahawks situation was also appealing. They wanted to draft him in the first round in 2002.
Graham's agent, Tom Mills, didn't shop the offers of either team but in the end he needed to see where the numbers would go. The Broncos stepped up at the ending by offering the most dollars and the most guarantees. Graham took the Broncos deal.
The former first-round choice of the Patriots was considered the top tight end on the free agent market. John Clayton is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com.

What you have to understand is that Graham is not limited to the Blocking TE role. He really can catch the ball and is quick and athletic. NE predominantly used him as a blocking TE and that is why he was gone this year. He wants to be used in the offense more and I bet Shanny does now that he paid this much. Sheffler is going to suffer from this but he can learn from Graham as well. Seriously DG will impress the doubters with his athleticism.
