69ers are laying the building blocks for a great team.

He don't care about winning (that much is for sure)

Well Lilly is getting paid a little bit and he could be the #1.

I´m sure he expected a little more than that when he forced his way out of Denver.

What a dumbass. If he'd have kept his mouth shut, got his head down and worked his ass off he'd be getting 3 times that here this offseason as the No2.

Still can't believe the contract that they gave Clements. That is unbelievable.

49ers agreed to terms with cornerback Nate Clements on a eight-year, $80 million contract.

exactly ... it's too bad he has pissed away part of his career chasing #1 money. Either someone gave him bad advice or he really believed he was #1 material - or perhaps it was a bit of both. Downright stupid.

Another false report?

The Texans have agreed to a deal with free agent wideout Ashley Lelie, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Lelie would been a nice complement to newly-locked up Andre Johnson as a deep threat, second receiver. He knows Gary Kubiak from their Denver days, so Lelie should be utilized better than he was in Atlanta last year.

Rotoworld just corrected itself to say 49'ers as well.

Apparenty they screwed up initially.

Good fit for him. The NFC West is shaping up to be a legit division. The Bennett signing in STL was a good one too.

A close friend of mine was Lelie's roommate and best friend @ the University of Hawaii so I was always supportive of the guy until he flaked out. He has talent and brains but none of that matters if he doesn't grow a pair. He'll be the same old, one-dimensional WR even in the best system.

If Vick couldn't get him the ball, how is Walter going to? There is a reason both Porter and Moss are trying to escape. Another brilliant career move for Ms. Lilly.

I swear when he was in Arizona that offseason he had an overdose of peyote or mescaline. That's #3 money on a 2-14 team that might take Calvin Johnson. That could potentially make him the #4 reciever.

If he's happy playing for nothing, why didn't he go to San Diego? They are the favorites in Vegas to go to the SB, or were till their entire staff jumped ship or were fired. Ms. Lilly is a collossal idiot. He should be in the prime of his career...he's injury free, still young and with all the cap money floating around, the best he can manage is 2M per year for 2 years?

Read the thread Mock, he has signed with the 49ers, not the Raiders.

Eh he was overpaid. He will always be a deep threat but will be too chicken **** to go across the middle or catch the 9yd pass and earn the rest. Too bad the 49ers wasted that much on him.

Good for him. He landed in the right spot. The 49ers are an upandcoming team. They have a legitimate chance at winning the division next year.

I think Lelie would have fared much better if he would have stayed in Denver. Hell, Shanny would have given him a better contract to come back.

I like Lelie, and think he is all right guy, I just also hate him for being a dumbass last season. I bet he could've gotten close to what Welker is getting if he stayed here, as he would've had decent stats and wouldn't have the whole "attitude" of holding out and wanting to be a #1 WR.
So, in a way, his "master plan" to hold out, get traded so he didn't have to earn the #1 WR spot, have a good season, then get paid in FA, that plan didn't turn out so well. He got traded to a team that needed a WR, put up average at best stats, and gets paid $2 mil a year. Nice job Lelie!

Look you dimwit...Lelie walked away from millions in Denver to play for a 2-14 team and two million a year in his prime? I'm the assclown? That's reality dumbass.

If he didn't know that he theat he was an idiot, he would gotten 7 million and around 4 per for 5. He signs for 4.3 million in his prime? STFU.

49ers are getting a lot better. They could use to add some youth and depth on the Oline, front seven, and WRs but they have a lot of solid playmakers. Jeez it woulda been sweet to get Manny Lawson.

Mock, he didn't sign with the Oakland Raiders. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers. It's okay, go to sleep now, better luck tomorrow.

Fine, doesn't matter, the contract is short, and totally underpaid. wow.. He goes from a 2 win team to another bottom dweller.

Talk about how he made out with the Niners...I'm curious. They gave Clements 80 and Lilly 4.3. The .3 just illustrated how pathetic he has become.

No, no, he was never associated with the Raiders, never. The Niners are far from a bottom dweller but I'm not even going to get started...

Of course they aren't. They managed 7 wins in the lethal afc west with a 4th place schedule.

NFC and they are definitely on the rise with the growth of Alex Smith, Vernon Davis, Frank Gore, and Manny Lawson plus the additions of Nate Clements, Michael Lewis, Ashley Lelie, and who knows who else since they still have like 20+ to work with. It's the NFC West too buddy.

Walter? You've got the wrong team. And with any luck, it will be Plummer starting for the Raiders next year.

Edit: looks like several people beat me to it...

I agree. I think Lelie found himself a good situation. Not as good as he'd have had in Denver, but good none-the-less. I think the Niners have a very attractive young team, and in the weak NFC, could make the playoffs next year. Just look at New Orleans to see what any team can do in the NFC in any given year.

I'm in complete agreement with mock. Obviously Walter won't be able to get him the ball, and to anyone who says different, I say, "Assertion!'

It's also clear that Porter and Moss are trying to escape. This is why mock is the best 15 year-old debater in the state of Iowa. Little details like this never get past him. Why do you think he has three LLC's. Do you think he named them wrong and had to try again?

mock makes my head hurt. Ashley signs with the Raiders, blah blah blah, I don't get it, he signed with a 2 win team, blah blah blah, what are you guys talking about, blah blah blah, he still signed with a 2 win team.
Ouch...my brain tried to commit suicide after reading mock's posts.
