as a life long Broncs fan living in cincinnati i have 1 question ... why would we give a can of soda let alone a draft pick for Big daddy dan wilkinson
im normally for most the moves the team makes this ones a stunner...

He fits Bates scheme and will provide a stop gap while the rookie we draft in the 1st or 2nd round adjusts.

Hes a solid rotation guy. Hopefully we can restructure his cap # and he can come in and take up blockers.

As atlas said hes a great rotation guy on run situaitions to force the run to the outside i don't have a problem with the move plus like inferno said it's a stop gap anyways for a small price.
Because we couldn't resign I-Hop.

I like the move. He has started for the Dolphins the last couple of years and has played well, Not a whole lot is expected of him and he should be a great fit.
Of course all this is discussed in the other thread about him. I suppose we need 4 Big Daddy threads to properly discuss this trade.
God knows the 4 Plummer threads have been a joy to surf through.

Apparently you don't remember the Chester McGlocktons, Leon Letts, IHOPs, or Dalton Browns...or you wouldn't ask this question. Taking in over-the-hill stop gaps in the D-line is a Bronco tradition under Shanahan. You can forget the pipe dream of a difference maker in the draft now that we have Big Fatty...look for an LB, a safety or a receiver in round one...;D

McGlockton played very well his two years in Denver. If Big Daddy plays that well I'm sure Shanny will be very pleased.

My guess is he was signed because he's cheaper than most in free agency at DT and they don't expect a rookie they may draft at DT to be ready to start, if contribute at all next season.

Agree, McGlockton did well for a year or two. And he was defo better than Jelly, IHOP and Leon Lett.

Don't forget jumpy forklift geathers...
bates fingerprints are all over this one...i know he can take up blockers just fine, my only hope is that he can stay healthy and that his old body isn't about to give out on him (ala luther ellis)

Geathers was a stud. If Denver could find a guy that would have a year like what Geathers had in Denver in 1996 Shanny would be very very pleased.
