I was surfing the net and found this gem:www.littleinthehalloffame.com (http://www.littleinthehalloffame.com) -- dedicated to getting "The Franchise" in the Hall of Fame. It's a fantastic site and pretty new with just one posting.
My question is, does anyone know who developed the site? There's no mention of a "contact us" or anything. Just "Powered by Goozmo Systems."
Please let me know if you do. I think we can add to it by listing the Seniors Selector voters with their names and addresses, etc. Plus add some facts why Floyd is a Hall of Famer, 7th all-time rusher in NFL history, etc.
With just one Hall of Famer in Canton, we need to get Floyd in there. Voting for Seniors Candidates like Floyd are this August. Most of these writers make up their mind who they're putting in by early June. There are so many fans on Orangemane we should be able to flood the voters mailboxes with a push for Floyd.
Also, if someone knows how to "sticky thread" this so it stays at the top of the postings, please do so.
Thanks!

03-03-2007, 03:36 PM
We joke about Irvin in the HOF. But, seriously, what does that say to our children! That you can be a scumbag drug-dealer off the field. But if you win some Super Bowls by playing on a talent-rich team the Hall of Fame will embrace you. The NFL seriously has to reconsider their stance on the criteria for the HOF.
Like baseball, I think character should play a huge role in induction. Floyd Little not only retired as the 7th all-time rusher in NFL history, he was perhaps an even better person off the field.

Holy crapppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone help me with something here. At that website there is a photo gallery of Floyd's pictures.
The photo that is second from the right is one that means an unreal amount to me!!!
You can tell from the background of that photo that is Mile High Stadium, due to the obvious fence that used to front the funny shape of the North Stands at Mile High.
The only year that Denver wore the orange pants with white jersies at home was 1971, and the 1971 Oakland at Denver game was the first Broncos game that I ever watched. The colors of the day just roped me into it and I loved the Broncos reddish orange pants color.
I have never been able to find a great photo of that game, but that is a great one.
Does anyone know how to make a great enlarged copy of that photo on photo paper?? I would love to hang a great copy of that photo in my basement shrine.
To clarify it is the phot with Floyd getting his facemask tweaked.
Thanks for any help.

Floyd retired as NFL's 7th all-time rusher, 8th all-time in yards from scrimmage (rushing & receiving), 8th all-time combined yards (rushing, receiving, returns).
Captain all 9 years, 5 Pro Bowls.

Moops, yeah that is definitely Mile High in that photo I love. Before the reconstruction that took Mile High from 45,000 to around 65,000, the North Stands had a funny angled fence in front of them which is visible in the picture.
Also the Broncos wore white jersies with Orange pants for every home game in 1971. They only wore the orange jersies twice all season, at San Diego, which NFL Films has a great Lyle Alzado miking of, and the shutout victory at Cleveland, which was a great F.U. to Art Modell.
My only concern was that is obviously Steve Ramsey handing off to Floyd, and not starter Don Horn, as Horn started the first several games that year. But I checked the boxscores and Ramsey played alot in this week 4 game at Mile High, and actually threw our only TD to Dickie Post. Plus the late afternoon sun angles you can see on the field, are indicative of early season Mile High as well.
Man I gotta get that photo in mint form somehow. I checked e bay for the 8 1/2 by 11 and they don't have it.

I can't figure out why one of the mods can't get off their butt and sticky this thread for a week or so. Might not have any cause or effect in getting Floyd anywhere near the HOF but there is a good chance between Moops and the guy who started the website that Mr. Little could read the comments being made on his behalf.
Everyone here - Youngsters and Lurkers needs to hit the link. Without Franchise Floyd there is a good chance the Broncos wouldn't have remained in Denver.

The photo enlarges on the site, but unfortunately the original is badly out of focus - not the print or the scan, but the original itself. You can barely make out Billy Masters. I suggest contacting the owner of the photo: http://www.psadna.com/experts.chtml ... the photo ID looks like #F27838 (BTW - I worked with Steve Grad at KNX-1070 radio in Los Angeles in the mid-90s.)

Moops, here is something I am hoping you can help myself and guys like Hogan with.
Floyd could probably tell you this to confirm, but the Broncos wore a very different shade of Orange when Floyd played, than from when Elway played.
Floyd wore the Red-Orange from 67-75, which the Broncos continued to wear thru the 77 season.
In 1978, the Broncos officially changed their shade of orange to a more standard shade. It is even referenced in the 1978 tab at Patrick Scoggin's great website. He has the notation from Jim Saccomano himself in the below link.
http://endzone.pscoggin.com/PDFs/Uni_1978.pdf
Take a look at Daniel Graham's old man from back in the day too. This is the shade of cloth that Floyd mostly wore, but the ebay unis are all the shimy shiny orange of Elway's era. I don't want one of those. I would pay bigger dinero for a true Floyd era red-orange beauty, with the correct arm striping as well.
Would Floyd himself know where to go to duplicate the right color?

Check out eBay. If you do a search for "Floyd Little" sometimes there's a jersey up for bid.
I kow you're trying to help with this Moops but, there are several problems with those eBay jerseys:
1) They're (supposedly) signed ones ( and not many would want that for other than a display case I'm thinking).
2) They're the wrong jersey style (latter sleeve stripes that Floyd never wore)
3) They're the wrong shade of orange (Floyd wore the reddish "Syracuse" orange only..he never wore the brighter shade of latter years)
4) One of the 4's on the front is mis-sewn and is a bit higher than the other 4 on the front. (I know all these things because I bought one a couple of years ago and have noticed that all that have appeared on eBay in it's wake are the same exact thing and for what you lay down for one of these things costwise....a mis-sewn number matters).
So yeah, while they occasionly do appear on eBay, I wouldn't recommend picking one up for the price they usually ask for them/go for.
Like I stated before...he's second in team history only to Elway, his number is retired...why there isn't at least some cheap knockoff jersey available somewhere is baffling to say the least.
B-Love
03-12-2007, 11:57 AM
Floyd never wore this. Floyd never wore anything that resembled this.
Shade of orange way off! Arm striping way off!
But this is what they sell on Ebay.
I have said it often and I do believe it. If there was a uniform manufacturer that could duplicate the red-orange era players, you would see alot of Floyd Little and Tombstone Jackson jersies walking around Invesco.

Hey, I totally understand your frustration about no authentic Broncos jerseys from that era. One of my friends is a huge Cowboys fan and all he wanted was the blue Jersey the Cowboys used to wear back when Staubach played. (Think Super Bowl V against the Colts).
They never come close to getting it right with any supposed "Throwback" jerseys on eBay.
Regarding the Broncos orange jerseys from 67-75, it would be awesome to have one of those. But I have never found one anywhere. And, I can tell you that neither has Floyd. One of my most prized possessions is an auto jersey that Floyd himself gave me as a thank-you for doing the book with him and it was very similar to the one posted on this thread. So even Floyd himself, doesn't have access to one. But, I treasure it like it was an original.
The only way you could get one is to somehow find an actual jersey worn by FL or TJ or Tombstone, etc., from that era. Anyone know the old equipment managers?!

There's got to be a local manufacturer in Denver that could see the financial gain from creating authentic looking 1960s-70s era jerseys. The NFL probably has some huge no-no factor or someone would have done it. Mitchell & Ness I'm sure pays some kind of fee to the NFL...

If you find the place that doing that I'll pay the ad fees at the Orangemane so that Maners can buy the jersey. All I would ask from the maker is a chance to break even and my own jersey.
If nothing else let me know where I can get this jersey.
I think if people contacted the Broncos organization and asked what would it take to have Floyd Little come to speak I think it would send a message to the Broncos they need to stand up for some of their retired players.
When Roger Goodell is sending a message to the new players HERE is a person they should use to deliver that message. If the NFL wants to stand on a guy who gave to the sport HERE is a guy they can start with.
When it stops becoming sentimentality and starts becoming good business then you'll have the interest of the NFL. Believe in that.
