VIENNA, Austria, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Officials with the International Atomic Energy Agency say most information supplied by U.S. intelligence agencies on Iran has been inaccurate.

"Since 2002, pretty much all the intelligence that's come to us has proved to be wrong," a senior diplomat at the United Nations atomic watchdog told the Los Angeles Times.

While the United States has given information to the IAEA since 2002, it has been unable to provide credible information pinpointing nuclear sites. The agency tends to be leery of U.S. claims because of the history of U.S. intelligence in the weeks leading up to the Iraq War, the newspaper said.

What I find amusing here is the fact that the intelligence prior to the invasion of Iraq was not "weeks" old intelligence, it was years old. Much of it gathered during the Clinton administration.

The credibility issue we have with the UN should tell you something regarding that report.

UN Watchdog my ass!

I'm curious as to which you find less credible: the bushii wh or the UN group?

Seriously, what bushii isn't telling us is that if present trends in Iran's petroleum extraction and refining and DOMESTIC consumption continue, Iran will become an energy IMPORTER. Apparantly one way the mullah's keep the multitudes placated is by giving them really cheap energy, which spurs consumption, but at the same time they're too stupid to modernize their production.

So, Iran has a good reason to need nuke power. They depend upon petrodollars, so they need to develop stuff like natl gas and nuke to allow them to continue selling the spice. Of course, the Little Hitler turned down the deal for a free reactor not yeilding bomb stuff.

Well, the warmongers beg to differ... they want Iranians to burn camel dung for heat and light in their homes.

everyone in the middle east has cheap oil. and while I agree that iran's national resources are all kinds of mismanaged, adding another resource to mismanage is unlikely to make a difference. if we go on how poorly they run the rest of their energy sector then all nuclear power will probably have to be subsidized, which will just need to be funded even more heavily from oil sales.
