I really like Jenn's draft. I think she did a great job. I see all of those players making the team and adding contributions.
I consider slaps draft really good too, Willis and Griffin are two of the most instinctive guys in the draft. Looks more like a Baltimore draft than a Broncos one.
Surprisingly Mock has had a very strong draft. He only needed two chances each pick to get them. Charles Johnson in round 3 would have been great value though!
Rohirrim also did very well when considering, he is adding weapons to strengthen his investment in Eli Manning by surrounding him with talent.
Socal has a draft that talent evaluators love... however it will take about two years to see where some of these guys end up. Loads of potential though.
Hawk's boys also has had a very strong draft IMO.

San Diego Chargers
Round 1: Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
Round 2: H.B. Blades, ILB, Pittsburgh
Round 3: Manny Ramirez, OG, Texas Tech
Round 4: Juwan Simpson, OLB, Alabama
IMO, WR & LB are the Chargers most pressing needs. Rice and Blades will have the opportunity to fill those needs. Other than Vincent Jackson (who may finally be coming into his own as an NFL WR) the team lacks quality at this position. Probably could have waited until the 2nd to get him, but picking so late in each round was too prohibitive when trying to move up in a trade.
The LBing situation with Steve Foley, the pending release of Donnie Edwards and possibly Godfrey also creates the need the the Chargers to address this area. Blades can let his instincts take over since he has Merriman and Shaun Phillips on the outside and Jamal WIlliams in the middle in front of him on the DL. Steven Cooper and Wilhelm will compete to fill the other ILB spot.
C and OG aren't major problems but depth is needed, especially if Dielman leaves in FA. Ramirez is as strong as an ox and is the typical Chargers offensive lineman. Imagine Marcus McNeill and Ramirez lined up next to another.
The secondary is a concern, especially the S position. Terrence Kiel amy or may not return. Even if he does, safety still remains a weakness. Enter Simpson. Although he played OLB in college, he has skills that translate to SS on NFL. The conerbacks are okay with Jammer and Cromartie.

Tampa Bay's Selections thus far:
3. Tampa Bay/Mediator12......................Calvin Johnson, WR Georgia Tech
36. Tampa Bay/Mediator12....................Jarvis Moss, DE Florida
64. Tampa Bay/Mediator12 (from/IND)..Josh Gattis, FS Wake Forest
67. Tampa Bay/Mediator12....................Ray McDonald, DT Florida
91. Tampa Bay/Mediator12…………...........Stewart Bradley, OLB Nebraska
130. Tampa Bay/Mediator12...................Kenny Scott, CB Georgia Tech
194. Tampa Bay/Mediator12....................Joe Anoai, DT, Georgia Tech
UDFA's
Enoka Lucas, C, Oregon -The fourth best Center IMHO in this whole draft and I got him to compete with John Wade as a UDFA. Wow! Only need left on the OL after they signed Luke Petigout to play OT.
Corey Graham, CB/PR/KR, New Hampshire-The best player out of New Hampshire IMHO. Everyone loves David Ball WR, but he will struggle mightily to get seperation at the next level. Good hands only count if you are open ;D Graham broke his leg this year or would have tested around 4.4 or below at 6'. Dangerous kick returner with major upside to play CB or FS in the Tampa Two. Fills major hole in ST's return game and bolster's an aging CB group.
Needs were DE, DT, WR, S, LB, CB in that order. QB would be nice, but I like Simms and think he is going to be better after his injury than he was before. Plus, he has Johnson in the Red Zone. Their OL is young and unfortunately badly hurt last year. I see them making a splash in FA for Leonard Davis and Backup QB. If not Garcia, a possible trade for a backup QB.
Overall, I think I got outstanding value at every pick including Johnson who has to be the concensus best Overall player in this draft. I think Johnson, Gattis, and Bradley will Start right away with Moss and McDonald adding to the situational pass rush in year one. Socal maneuvered right in front of me to take Tarell Brown CB, Texas @ #129 or I would have had my perfect draft. Joseph Anoai is just a grinder at undertackle. I like his upside to be a backup DT and ST's. Oh well, Its a hell of a lot better than TB will get on draft day IMHO.
That is a pretty damn good draft Med. I really like all of those selections for TB. They are getting older on defense, even though they are still an effective unit. It would be a great deal to bring those guys in while the current players still have a little left so they can show them away.
Johnson is an immediate impact player. Should help Simms out a lot... or Gratkowski or whatever his name is. Moss is a development guy but has a lot of upside. They can sit him behind Simeon Rice and let him learn.
Gattis is one of the most underated prospects in this draft at safety. I can see him coming in and being very affective as a centerfielder in the cover 2 scheme they run.
McDonald is a utility man on the defense who will mesh well with the blue collar unit they have and Stewart Bradley will be good playing at SAM next to DBrooks.
Great draft so far!

I had them last year and they had even less holes before Edgerrin James, David Thornton, and Larry Tripplett left, Corey Simon has a mystery illness, and Montae Reagor had a car accident.
I have a good feel for Polian though and I would think he would have Loved my Draft anyway ;D
BTW, thanks for the compliments guys. I have really looked to fill each pick with the best value at a needed position. I have done a lot of work for other things with this draft and I hope it pays off.

Yeah, DT seems to be something Indy could use, Simon appears gone and Reagor is a bit in question now. However, I didn't get to make a pick until round 3, so my motto is that the Colts signed a FA DT in this mock. ;) I figure they will lose Cato June this year to FA. So getting LB help was another need for them this year.

Racist. I wonder when the NFL will put a stop to that and implement a rule that at least 50% of the drafted players have to be black or something.
Oh, bpc, the Rams just signed Drew Bennett ... so you can now go to a 5 WR Set full time with Holt, Bruce, Bennett, Ginn and Smith ROFL!

Yup, I think St. Louis is going to take Patrick WIllis with their first pick unless San Fran grabs him first. Bennett is a good signing for them. He is a little slower so I don't think they were trying to recreate the greatest show on turf like I was.
I didn't want to take Ginn even though I think he will have a good pro career. I couldn't trade back at all so I got handcuffed. Still came away nicely. I'll just be happy if my guys succeed more than make the real teams roster. :approve:

1(27). Lawrence Timmons - He dropped and fit a need. Perfect pick.
2(50). Justin Harrell - Dealed with NFLBronco to grab him 8 picks ahead of my scheduled pick. Another dropper that fit a need.
3(77). Moved up again this time with JCMElway to draft Fred Bennett. Fit a desperate need(which I think/thought will/would be addressed in FA) and was pretty good value
4(121). Brandon Myles. Ecstatic about this pick, I love this guy, he's big, fast, good hands, good blocker, he just wasn't used much in college. He has playmaker written all over him and fits a need.
4(122). Reggie Lewis. Another pick that I'm very happy about. Fred Bennett is far from guaranteed money so I figured I'd throw a couple stones at the position and see if one made contact. He doesn't have elite speed but he did pretty well in the SEC against Meachem, Bowe, Monk, and against Anthony Gonzalez and some other pretty good WRs.
I've been very pleased with my pick, Fred Bennett was a little bit of a reach but there was a run on CBs about to occur and I thought I had better take action. 20/20 hindsight, I probably would have been pretty happy to draft Chris Houston with #27 and I think he was even available at #50 but I just remembered him looking stupid against LSU and Florida as well as others so I still have doubts about him.

6th Round 165th Courtney Brown - CB - Cal-Poly
6th Round 167th Chris Leak - QB - Florida
Need Areas: DE, DT, LB, OG, KR, PR
Depth Areas: QB, HB, WR, CB
The Rams have since picked up Drew Bennett but with him not there yet and Kevin Curtis and Shaun McDonald being free agents coupled with Isaac Bruce being old led me to the BPA selection of Ted Ginn who will impact the passing and return games. Steve Smith was drafted as pure value in the 4th along with being the BPA during that time. I think in this situation Smith may come in being a better pure WR than Ginn but both would impact the Rams situation.
DL was a huge problem for the Rams as they have holes opposite of L. Little at the RDE and also at DT. I think Bazuin is a guy that can immediately come in and play a role in defensing both the run and pass games. Marcus Thomas is a top 10 talent who has slid because of his positive testing with marijuana. I have studied the situation closely and judged that he was a young man who made a mistake. His overall value in the 3rd and the Rams need for impact players trumped any notion that this will continue to be a problem in the NFL. I think in fact his situation will be very similar to that of Warren Sapp who also had positive drug tests impact his draft status.
I drafted a pair of quality interior linemen from the University of Clemson in Nathan Bennett and Dustin Frye. They spearheaded one of the best rushing offenses in the country also providing a meanstreak and a mentality to set the tempo on the LOS for the NEW St. Louis Rams. Frye will double as a C/OG who can play either in a pinch. Bennett will be immediately pencilled in at Adam Timmerman's former spot of RG.
Stephen Jackson is the bread and butter of the St. Louis Rams offense but behind him is only broken down Stephen Davis who is a play away from being done in the NFL. Depth was needed to not only take the load off of Jackson but to also keep the offense going on downs that he is not in the game. Darius Walker is a vastly underated player who projects as a Kevin Faulk type of playmaker on 3rd down in the NFL. I think he is more than capable of carrying the ball but his specialty will be catching the ball out of the backfield on 3rd down.
Quincy Black is probably my favorite selection of this draft class. Although RAW he has skills similar to that of one John Mobley for the Broncos. He is a solid 6'1, 230 who has the ability to carry more weight. His speed will set him apart not only at any LB position for the Rams, he could also project long term as a safety. That is how much athleticism that he has.
Courtney Brown is a pure coverage corner who has the body to be a great press corner in this league. He'll measure out at 6'2", 200lbs and has the body to get even bigger which means he will be perfect for measuring up against bigger WR's. His speed is an A+ and has great ball skills. I do not like his physicality and he ran exclusively zone coverage in college but I think long term, 2, 3 years down the road, this guy could develop into a pro bowl type CB or Free Safety.
Finally I got the vastly underated Chris Leak to be my backup QB. I think he is one of the better pure passers to come out in the last couple years. He has started 48 games for his career in the SEC. During his first two seasons at UF under Ron Zook, Chris Leak took the country by storm throwing up TD's at an alarming rate. He transitioned his game (which was not a fit really) to Urban Meyer's spread offense and his numbers went down but wins went up. Leak proving to be unflappable even when challenged for his starting spot by a freshman, cooley led his team to a national championship without any complaint. His arm is not the strongest but he throws one of the most catchable medium and long balls in the country. His success will be greatly impacted by where he lands in the NFL. If he is to land on a team with some weapons and in a system that will allow him to develop, learn the system and has some coaching consistency, I think he has a chance to make an impact in the pro's.
I think I did a great job of handling the St. Louis Rams. I think the addition of Drew Bennett changes the way that this draft would go down and I traded a lot to afford me the ability to pick up players who would best fit my rendition of what the St. Louis team should look like. Most of these players will not be drafted by the Rams but I do think all of these players will be success stories in the NFL. I'm eager to see how they all turn out.

6. Kevin Payne - S - Louisiana Monroe - Has a lot to learn to play safety in the NFL, but he could be a great ST player in the meantime.
7. Abraham Wright _ MLB/OLB/DE - Colorado - Intelligent. articulate, overachieving club house leader.

Posting just the picks you forcast for one team is lame. It doesn't show me how you think draft might unfold. I'd like to see you guys plot out the whole first round.

The point of this thread was to show who we drafted in the OM Mock draft for easy reference. This wasn't something we just decided to do for fun.

SELECTIONS for St. Louis Rams:
1st Round 13th Ted Ginn Jr. WR - OSU
3rd Round 72nd Dan Bazuin DE - CMU
3rd Round 79th Marcus Thomas DT - Florida
4th Round 113th Nathan Bennett - OG - Clemson
4th Round 123rd Steve Smith - WR - USC
4th Round 126th Quincy Black - LB - New Mexico
5th Round 136th Darius Walker - HB - Notre Dame
5th Round 138th Dustin Fry - OC/OG - Clemson
6th Round 165th Courtney Brown - CB - Cal-Poly
6th Round 167th Chris Leak - QB - Florida
Dude, that is a sick draft!!! You've been stealing players from me the whole way though. Especially with Marcus Thomas. The Chokes were going to come out of this draft looking really good... then Meachem went two or three picks before mine, I got Tank Tyler, missed out on Thomas, then missed out on Craig Davis. All in all though, I did alright.
1. Darrelle Revis
2. Tank Tyler
3. Doug Free
4. Courtney Taylor (5th round)
5. Laurent Robinson (6th)
6. Kasey Studdard (6th, in back to back picks)
Best value is Courtney Taylor. Most likely to bust is Tank Tyler. Most likely to be a stud is Revis as he'll have a couple good veteran CB's to learn from and he'll be eased into the lineup.

Houston
1 Alan Branch, DT Michigan
2 Ryan Kalil, C USC
3 Earl Everett, LB Florida
4 Johnnie Lee Higgins, WR UTEP
5 Daren Stone, S Maine
6 John Talley, CB Duke
7 Kevin Kolb, QB Houston
I love getting Kolb in the 7th and Higgins in the 4th and I think I addressed Houston´s needs pretty well. Maybe waited a little too long before I addressed the secondary, but Higgins was just too good to pass up on in the 4th. I am a little unhappy with Everett for some reason.

1. Jamaal Anderson. Next to the Williams Brothers a formidable Purple Eating front line is back. Anderson is the player who has really moved up a lot of team's boards. He is a junior who still has not played his best football. Here's how athletic he is: In high school he played receiver and defensive end and was ranked as a top 50 receiver by one recruiting service.
"His natural ability is amazing," said the NFC personnel director. "He has a chance to be better than the guy who went No. 1 last year."
2. Daymeion Hughes. He doesn't have elite straight line speed, the kid is a true playmaker. He plays much faster than his time. He will be good for 6 picks a year easy.
2b.Antonio Pittman. he surprised everyone with a 4.4 time and would be a g I got him for the vikes. Would be a great round 3 pick for the Broncos. Great hands and one cut runner.
4. John Beck The guy has phenomenal stats, is mobile and strong armed. With the crap the Hornheads had a QB, I had to move here.
7. Corey Hillard. Another player who would fit well with Denver. 6-5 310 and can play any position on the line...another player that would fit in Denver well. Three time all Big 12. Can play G, or RT, or Lt.

SF 49ers Updated Draft Roster
1. Dwayne Bowe, WR LSU- Big time physical WR, SF's WR corps needs a big upgrade. Bowe fits the bill well. I really like Bowe's physical tools and I think SF really needs some more weapons in the passing game along with VD. The WR position is problematic with Bryant's continual problems and other than him, they dont really have anything outside of Battle who is only decent.
2. Anthony Spencer, DE Purdue (will play 3-4 OLB for SF)- Will be paired with Manny Lawson as the OLBs in the 3-4. Should be a nice combo. Spencer may be the best pure pass rushing end in the draft, highly respected by Penn State OT Levi Brown.
3A. David Irons, CB Auburn- SF depth at CB position was poor when this draft began (I do not take into account the Clements signing or anything that happens in FA, as we have to all make our decisions before that starts since our draft started a month before FA). Liked Irons when I watched Auburn and good reviews at Sr. Bowl practices.
3B. Michael Johnson, S Arizona- I am intrigued by this prospect. Good tools in coverage, I think he can be a rangy starting NFL safety. His game needs some work, but I think he can be very solid. Was a bit miffed when Washington took Wendling just a few picks before me, Johnson was my second choice behind Wendling for this spot and thus was picked here.
4A. Paul Soliai, DT Utah (will play 3-4 NT for SF)- I was really happy that he was here. For the 3-4 to be successful, you need that large run stuffing NT and I think Soliai fills that bill very well. I think he will do a fine job in the league of controlling both A gaps against the run.
4B. Paul Williams, WR Fresno State- Another prospect that intrigues me. His production isnt quite there, especially as a Senior, but he has phenomenal tools. He is well built physically like Bowe, but also has very good speed and probably will be alot more productive in the league then at Fresno (although he had a really good Junior year). I was very glad to get him here.
5. Tarell Brown, CB Texas- I had to trade up to get him. 2nd-3rd round caliber corner prospect. He had to play with some injuries this year and that hurt his play a little and also has some character issues, but I felt that it was excellent value early in the 5th round for a guy with his kind of ability. Continuing to add to the CB depth which is a problem for SF going into this draft.
6A. Ola Dagunduro, DT Nebraska (will play 3-4 DE for SF)- Not much of a pass rusher, but he'll be utilized as a 3-4 DE, in more of a run stopping system. He is strong at the point of attack and did a very nice job in one of the early postseason draft related bowls and practices, esp. against the run.
6B. Nate Harris, LB Louisville- Nate is an instinctive LB who has good on the field speed and playmaking ability. I am very familiar with him from the past, he was a top LB in south florida as a senior in high school and a top Miami recruit before getting into a great deal of trouble during the spring of his senior year which resulted in his scholie offer being revoked. Nate has worked hard to turn his life around and has since become a model citizen after going JC and then to Louisville where he has been every bit as good as was originally expected when he dominated against top competition in talent rich South Florida. I was very pleased to get him here.
6C. Dan Mozes, OC/OG West Virginia- I did not expect Mozes to be here. He is a versatile lineman. He has the tendency of getting overpowered and pushed around and its a legit concern, but is very smart and technically sound. He won the Rimington trophy as the top center and also has experience playing guard as well. I thought he was good value here and after striking out a few years ago with David Bass, I think the 49ers needed to add to the competition in the interior with a guy like Mozes.
7. Willie Gaston, CB Houston- I struggled long and hard with my final pick between three players. I chose Willie because he is a very hard worker, an all around winner type of guy and because he impressed me in the Miami-Houston game this season and especially in the Hula Bowl. He seems to be really good at anticipating routes (this was very noticeable in the Hula Bowl) which makes it not surprising that he has led his team in pass breakups the last two years.

On to the UDFA round, where I am hoping to add some of the players that I have had my eye on in the last few rounds. Hopefully some of those guys who I strongly considered are still there at the end of the 7th.

I feel that I did a pretty good job of adressing the Bills' primary needs(by the time McGahee was traded, the early rounds were well gone). We got young and deep on defense, even if I didn't touch the line, and Jacoby Jones should be able to step in as a 3rd WR. Buckley was a gamble, admittedly, and my Vallejo/Nwaneri picks were more about building depth at the offensive line than anything else. Beason and Hall are season opener starters, and I feel I got solid dpeth value pick for the rest of my picks.
12 - CB Leon Hall, Michigan State
31 - OLB Jon Beason, Miami University
107 - WR Jacoby Jones, Lane College
144 - MLB Anthony Waters, Clemson University
169 - RB Eldra Buckley, Chattanooga
175 - OT Elliot Vallejo, University of Cal-Davis
203 - OLB Chad Nkang, Elon University
220 - OG Uche Nwaneri, Purdue University

I tell you what, I was pissed when you picked Anthony Waters ;D I thought he would drop more in the OM draft because of his torn ACL and how everyone bitches about drafting injured players. If DEN does jettison Al wilson and can not get Willis, Waters is the guy I would want in the late third early fourth. That guy is a monster with Awesome work ethic and desire to play. I know the LB's coach at Clemson and he can not say enough good things about Waters.
Drafted:
#18 - Reggie Nelson, S/CB, FLA
#74 - Ikaika-Alama Francis, DE, HAW
#158 -Antwan Barnes, LB, FIU
#190 - Kolby Smith, RB, LOU
#202 - Matt Trannon, WR/TE, MSU
#222 - Cory Anderson, FB, TEN
UDFAs
Isaiah Stanback – QB/WR - WAS
Justin Zwick – QB – OSU
Nate Ilaoa – RB – HAW
David Ball - WR –NH
Roy Hall – WR – OSU
Dan Parrish - OT - FAM
Derek Landri – DT – ND
Oscar Lua – MLB – USC
On the first day I was just looking for playmakers who could crack the starting lineups. I wanted Dwayne Bowe in round 1 but didn't think he'd last so I traded back and was feeling out a potential move up after him. SoCal snagged him but Reggie Nelson fell far enough for me to grab him. He can play immediately as both a corner and safety for the Bears. Francis fills a similar need, adding a big athletic DL who can either work inside as a pass rushing DT or outside as an all around talented strong side end to compliment their two speedy rush ends, Ogunleye and Anderson.
The Bears made some moves between my 3rd and my next pick in the fifth, trading Thomas Jones and alienating Briggs, so I felt I should address those needs. Ayanbadejo was a ST pro-bowler so he'll get the early shot to replace Briggs, Antwan Barnes is an excellent replacement for him on the STs and will be able to step in if Ayanbadejo doesn't get it done or if Hillenmeyer causes similar issues down the road. Kolby Smith is a solid RB prospect who should make a good backup with Benson carrying the load.
When I lost out on Bowe I thought "Well screw WR, I'll just hold out and get Trannon" who I've liked for a while now. Worked out very well as I got him in the early 7th. He'll be an immediate red zone threat addition and will make a very good posession WR in his career. Worked out well.
My last pick was Cory Anderson, a very versitile FB that I've liked since seeing him in the Inta Juice bowl game. Good athlete, capable blocker and reciever, the type of FB the Bears need to open up their short yardage offense.
In UDFA I targetted some QB projects to create some competition, specifically Stanback because even if he doesn't look great as a QB out of the gate he can be used in other positions while he develops. Zwick has some good pro potential but little field experience, I think he could be interesting given a year in NFL Europe and some practice sqaud time.
Ilaoa provides a big RB with good explosion and hands, I think he'd work well as a developmental back, worst case scenario move him to FB where he could be similar to Anderson.
Oscar Lua provides a young, savy MLB to give good depth, Landri is a versatile DL, a poor man's Francis with more experience who should help solidify the depth on their front four.
Hall was an interesting physical prospect, never really performed but is worth a shot for small money. Was after Ball but I underestimated his demand.
Parrish is the only OL I added, the Bears are solid on the line if aging, but I just didn't see it as a significant need compared to the other spots I drafted since their core OLs aren't on the verge of retirment.

Carolina Needs:
QB, MLB, OT, S TE
1. Dwayne Jarrett - WR - USC - Big possession receiver to replace Meshaun
2. Drew Stanton - QB - Michigan State - Gamble on greatness or bust. Delhomme is the 2007 version of Jake.
3. Buster Davis - MLB - Florida State Short in stature but high energy and knows his position.
4. James Marten - LOT - Boston College - The second or third best pure LT in the draft.
5. Matt Spaeth - TE - Minnesota - Best blocking TE available this year. Could move to OT
Free agents:
Ken Darby RB Alabama- Preseason one of top Sr Rbs with perfect size. Entire Alabama team had a mental lapse this year - will need a good butt kicking to make the team but could pay off big
LeRon McLain FB Alabama- The best FB in the draft. A high energy, full effort blocking fool who can catch the ball and play ST
Chase Johnson OT Wyoming- Extremely raw but great size. Needs a year or two on PS
Dustin Fry C Clemson - Decent prospect. Leader of the Clemson OL.
Tony Taylor LB Georgia - Good, overlooked prospect. will need time to develop but can be ST contributor. Could easily make the 53 man squad.
I told SoCal before the draft that my first three picks would be Levi Brown, Stanton and Davis. Kaylore stole Brown and I started looking for another OT. I couldn't believe Marten was still around in the 4th. I think he was one of the biggest steals of the draft at that spot. Great size, well coached and can be a mean SOB. Spaeth was only available because he has not been able to work out. Might be the 3rd or 4th best TE in the draft certainly the best blcking TE. Couldn't resist homering up and taking Abe Wright who is intelligent, articulate, funny and a leader. Hope the Broncs get him to replace Burns.
In the Free agents Darby just needs a good dose of motivation to make it in the NFL. McLain is a great blocker and good receiver. Johnson - you can't coach size. He needs plenty of work, but worth a shot.

1. Marshawn Lynch, RB, Univ. of Cal. : Great value...will replace Ahman Green.
2. Scott Chandler, TE, Iowa : May have reached a little bit, but TE is a major need.
3a. Jonathan Wade, CB, Tennessee : Major need for the Packers. They have little or no depth at the CB position. Stock rose after his great Senior Bowl.
3b. Aundrae Allison, WR, ECU: Another great Senior Bowl game/practice's helped his stock rise. Green Bay needs WR's
4. Troy Smith, QB, Ohio State : Boom or Bust pick here. Is a leader, has a great arm, he knows how to win. Height is the only concern here. Hopefully he can learn under Favre for a couple years. I don't think Rodgers is the answer, as he is being talked about in trades with Oakland for Moss.
5. Rhema McKnight, WR, Notre Dame : Big, possession receiver, good hands, can go across the middle. Like I said with the Allison pick, there is NO depth at WR behind Driver and Jennings.
6. Marvin White, S, TCU : Kind of a sleeper pick. Big time hitter. Will produce at special teams right away.....may not impact the defense for a couple of years.
7a. Desmond Bishop, ILB, Univ. of Cal. : Great colllege LB, thumper.....loves to hit, may not have the speed to be a 3 down LB, great sleeper pick
7b. Ryan Moore, WR, Miami, Fl.: Top WR coming out of high school, never lived up to full potential at the U. Big time sleeper, if he can get is act together....sky is the limit.
UDFA's:
Jesse Daniels, S, LSU: Played on one of the best defense's @ LSU in 2006-07, great in-the-box defender, may not have the speed/coverage skills to be an elite safety.
Ryne Robinson, WR, Miami, Oh.: Small, but quick....good hands. More of a slot receiver. Has great return abilities. Will be an impact returner.
Jacob Ford, DE, C. Arkansas: Did very well at the NFL Combine, more than a workout warrior, good prospect at either DE or OLB.

New York Giants:
1. Robert Meachem, WR, Tenn
“Robert is a franchise WR.” THR
2. Brian Leonard, Hback, Rutgers
“This kid has the athletic talent to be a weapon at the next level. He can block like a fullback and picks up the blitz in the passing game like a RB. He still has not scratched the surface of his RB talents. He reminds me a lot of John Riggins (former RB - Washington Redskins).” THR
3. Mike Otto, LT, Purdue
“If you pass on Mike Otto and you need an offensive lineman, you should have your head examined. Mike reminds me a lot of Nick Mangold (OC New York Jets -- see archives). He has the same type of athletic talent, strength, smarts, leadership and mental toughness and, like Nick, you can plug him somewhere into your line right away.” THR
4. Sabby Piscitelli, S, Oregon St.
“Sabby can also cover those pass catching TE’s and big slot receivers; he will be the reason a team starts to get a lot of coverage sacks. He reminds me of Jason Sehorn (former S Garden St Giants). He also has the same type of talent that Ko Simpson (S Buffalo Bills) had coming out in the draft last year.” THR
5. Zak DeOssie, MLB, Brown
“Zak reminds me a lot of Mike Vrabel (LB New England Patriots), but for you old timers like myself, he also reminds me of Karl Mecklenburg (LB Denver Broncos). Go look that name up!” THR
6. Deandre Jackson, CB, Iowa St.
“Great athleticism. Good ball skills. Shows good techniques and field awareness. Good leaping ability.” (DraftAce)
7. Louis Leonard, DT, Fresno State
“Louis is quick enough and strong enough to give you the push you need off the line to flush a QB out of the pocket on passing downs. He is a complete DT, but his strength for the next level will be in stuffing the run.” THR
FA – Ronnie McGill, RB, UNC
“He has franchise potential because of his quickness, lateral agility, vision in the hole and the ability to slip tackles and find holes that others don’t see. He has franchise ability because of his size and bulk and the ability to read defenses and pick up blitzes.”
FA – Maurice Price, WR, Charleston Southern
“There was not a clear standout of the WR group, but Maurice Price seems like the one of with the best chance of hitting at the next level. He showed the ability to break down DBs and separate deep, and the hands to finish the play.” Draftdaddy
FA – Kevin Boss, TE, Western Oregon (6’7”, 255 !!!)
“Kevin Boss is from a small school, but he is no sleeper. He may have played his ball for division II Western Oregon, but he is on every NFL team's radar and ranks as a top ten tight end prospect on almost all draft sites, including this site. Boss helped his stock with a great combine performance. At Indy, he had the quickest 3-cone time from all the tight ends. He finished his career at Western Oregon with 134 receptions. And just like Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates, he played college basketball.” Football Expert
FA – Dallas Sartz, LB, USC
Run stuffing former safety with an injury history. – (Consensus)
FA – Bo Smith, CB, Weber State
Could be an excellent cover corner. Has all the skills and speed. Needs to get his head right. (Consensus)

2.H.B. Blades, LB
3.Manny Ramirez, OG
4.Juwan Simpson, LB (Converting him to Safety)
5.Steve Breaston, WR
7.C.J. Ah You, DE
Not being too much of a draft junkie, my intent was to fill the few glaring needs for the team. WR, LB, and S help were the biggest areas of concern.
Hindsight is 20/20 and other than selecting Ah You (who could probably be picked up as a FA), I think I did a pretty good job of acquiring talent that fills holes on this team.

IMO, Pittsburgh's biggest hole was left by Joey Porter's departure, but seeing as how there weren't any guy who fit that bill in this draft, I think you did a pretty good job.

Thanks Killer, I appreciate that. As regards to Joey Porter, unless you can grab the top two LB there is no one who can be Joey Porteresque. Anyway, I found out that Tomlin is going to more of a 4-3 look, so they needed more beefing up on the D-line. I'll look at your picks later on today.

Good hands only count if you are open Graham broke his leg this year or would have tested around 4.4 or below at 6'.
__________________________________________________ _________
In retrospect, the only player I technically will have reached on is Josh Gattis. IMHO he is a playmaker who has been overshadowed by the big four, the prestige of their programs, their top notch DL's, and their triangle numbers. The run on safety's in this draft made me take him at 64 instead of later, but that was how I read the Mock and I was not going to let him go. He will end up going somewhere in the third round I believe and I have him graded much higher than Aaron Rouse, Michael Johnson, or any other safety outside the big four. Weddle needs to pick a position or be a nickle back/ returner IMHO.
I believe I only selected players that have a legit shot at making the Buccaneers even in the UDFA rounds with Graham who is an immediate upgrade at returner, unless he goes Hixon on them ;D Lukas is a real steal at Center that I believe gets drafted no later than the fourth round. John Wade is adequate at C but he could use getting pushed and improve or be replaced in a year or so.
I am Upset I did not get Jared Zabransky or Jacob Ford but, others valued them more and rightly so. Nice Job Kaylore and Hawk's Boys.
