Wow.

I dunno. I never would have thought the Red Cross would have gotten involved with this kind of campaign.

The red cross IMO - doesn't give out near as much as it takes in....

Conspriacy note: Unless the Red-Cross is operated by the illuminati/templars..... (http://www.illuminati-news.com/red-cross.htm)

Final note - the small print is fun to read too

how is the red cross right wing? They are just trying to scare up money I think. Is this really a left vs right issue? or do we just like to make everything that?

As long as there are people who hate America and her association with Israel, there will always be a threat. The Red Cross is just trying to be prepared for the next time...if there is a next time...

Taliban leader: Osama bin Laden is "still alive" and "Taliban ready to strike Americans" (http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Taliban_leader:_Osama_bin_Laden_is_%22still_alive% 22_and_%22Taliban_ready_to_strike_Americans%22)

Mullah Dadullah, a high ranking official for the Taliban in Afghanistan has said that the leader of al-Qaeda Osama bin Laden is "still alive" and that "messages are exchanged to share plans" with Bin Laden. Dadullah also said that they "go to the battlefield together."

"Only his comrades see him; we exchange messages with each other to share plans. We also go to the battlefield together. We actually meet very rarely, just for important consultations. It's hard for anyone to meet Bin Laden himself now, but we know he's still alive," said Dadullah.

Dadullah also claims that there are "hundreds" of suicide bombers that are prepared and ready to hit the NATO peacekeeping forces in Afghanistan and that "Americans will "reap the crop for a long time" also saying that the Taliban and al-Qaeda will get "revenge" on the United States either inside or outside Afghanistan.

"The Americans have sown a seed. They will reap the crop for quite a long time. We will get our revenge on them, whether in Afghanistan or outside," said Dadullah.

The suicide martyrs, those willing to blow themselves up, are countless. Hundreds have registered their names already and are ready to go and we have hundreds more on the waiting list. Each is anxious to be the first to be sent," added Dadullah.

Dadullah also says that Islam "is more important than anything."

"For the Taliban, Islam is more important than anything else. It's our religious duty to shelter any Muslim brother who's on the run from the infidels, even at the cost of our government."

So far, the U.S. has not been able to confirm or deny the information and Dadullah has not stated where bin Laden may be hiding.

Bush: 'Iraq withdrawal may spark 9/11 repeat'
By Toby Harnden in Washington and Damien McElroy
Last Updated: 2:36am GMT 20/03/2007

President George W Bush used the fourth anniversary of the start of the Iraq war yesterday to warn that US withdrawal would unleash a "contagion of violence" that could spark a repeat of the September 11 attacks.

Chertoff: Next 9/11 could be launched by Europeans (http://www.mrt.com.mk/en/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2572&Itemid=0)

The American government fears that the next September 11-style attack on the U.S. could be launched by Muslims from Britain or Europe who feel like "second-class citizens" and are alienated by a "colonial legacy," according to the U.S. Homeland Security chief. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Michael Chertoff, who arrives in Britain on Thursday for talks with John Reid, the Home Secretary, said the American government was determined to build extra defenses against so-called "clean-skin" terrorists from Europe.

"We need to build layers of protection, and I don't think we totally want to rely upon the fact that a foreign government is going to know that one of their citizens is suspicious and is going to be coming here," he said.

Mr. Chertoff insisted that America required additional information, including e-mail addresses and credit card details, to vet European passengers and rejected "the idea that we're going to bargain with the European Union over who's going to come into the United States" under the visa waiver scheme.

"We have an absolute right to get this, in the same way that if someone wants to be a guest in my house, I have a right to ask them who they are and get identification."

The July 7 bombings nearly two years ago had shown that Britain had a problem with its Islamic immigrant population that America did not share, he argued.

"Our Muslim population is better educated and economically better off than the average American. So, from a standpoint of mobility in society, it's a successful immigrant population. To some degree, the whole country is a country of immigrants, and therefore, there's no sense that we have insiders or outsiders. In some countries [in Europe], you had an influx of people that came in as a colonial legacy and may have always have felt, to some extent, that they were viewed as second-class citizens, and they've tended to impact and be kind of clustered in some areas."

Mr. Chertoff, a former federal prosecutor, said one of his biggest worries was that "unknown terrorists" — such as most of the July 7, 2005, bombers, who were British citizens with no criminal record or intelligence traces — could use the visa waiver scheme to enter and attack America.

Mr. Chertoff said, "We can do a good job with the known terrorists, if we have their name, or if we've previously arrested them and have their fingerprint on file" but a more potent threat was the terrorist with no known form. The fear has always been the so-called ‘clean-skin' — that's a person whose documents are completely legitimate — are not forged."

This had led America to require a significant tightening of the rules for passengers traveling under a visa waiver. Among the new requirements is that all passenger information be transmitted to the U.S. before a plane takes off. Soon, passengers will have to give all 10 fingerprints, rather than just two.

Comics = Terrorism??????? (http://www.fleen.com/archives/2007/05/03/breaking-news-3/)

Okay, we linked to the funnybook (http://www.threepanelsoul.com/view.php?date=2007-04-30) version on Monday, but what’s happened to Matt Boyd is more tragic than humorous.

From what I’ve gathered things were, if not exactly good, then at least no-hard-feelings for Boyd on the part of those that used to be his bosses; they understood it was a stupid overreaction on the part of people that he worked with, they didn’t personally hold it against him, and they were willing to give him good references. Couple weeks of unemployment benefits, grab a new job, all good.

Then the cops showed up on his doorstep.

Details are sketchy at this time, but it appears that making a comic about his experience counts as making terroristic threats. I realize that by this logic, me reporting on the making of a comic that’s seen as a terroristic threat may count as lending support to terrorists. If I wake up in Gitmo, tell my wife that I love her, and I’m sorry I’m not there to help walk the dog.

In the meantime, the best information appears to be from Rich Stevens (story on the front page now, here eventually); more on this as it develops.

Edit to add: interview just conducted with Boyd, to run tomorrow.

i dont see anything wrong with that. listen if youre not willing to accept that could happen, youre already a step behind if it does. i dont think it was a LW or RW campaign or what have you, more of a "hey ****ers, this could happen, are you ready? give us money so we can be"
