Just heard it on the local news(Fresno), Texans reporting that they would be willing to trade Carr for a third rounder. Not sure if it's high or low. Link forthcoming if possible.

Trenton Times (scroll down) (registration required): " Houston is trying to trade former No. 1 overall pick David Carr, and thinks it may have a taker before the draft... Minnesota and Oakland are the two rumored destinations, but don't count out Miami, which never has met a quarterback it wouldn't trade to get, or Kansas City."

Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (scroll down): "The Houston Texans reportedly are shopping quarterback David Carr for as little as a third-round draft pick. The other team would be receiving a bargain. Carr, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 NFL draft, has a 23-53 record with the Texans, but a more telling stat is the 249 times he was sacked behind a porous offensive line."

I wonder if they trade him for a low third and then turn right around and give us that same third for Plummer.

I'd take that in a heart beat, even if it was the last pick.

This paves the road for a plummer trade.

Idon't think that there's any way we go for carr ourselves - cap number, starting aspirations, relative lack of experience are all factors preventing that, but like people are saying it is further evidence that a deal may be done for Plummer sooner rather than later

Of course they're up for it. Get an early 3rd for Carr, then get Jake by either a. swapping seconds with us or b. in a package trading us up to #8. The Texans walk away with more picks and a QB who is a better fit for their scheme and their weak OL.
