a lot of ppl here wanted him.

DL will have to be addressed in the draft this year, no decent FA's will be available.

I didn't go anywhere. It's not incumbent on me to hang around at a donkey web site. I show up for Raider week.

I was just passing along something I saw since there was a bit of interest in the guy over here.

Not a bad guy to keep, big space eater that I would have liked on our line if the money was right. Have to see the bonus money to tell for sure but if he's guaranteed less than $9M over the three years he should fire his agent.

My thoughts as well -- he would have been a nice addition -- as a space eater. However, after his Senior Bowl performance, I am now more interested in drafting Mebane.

You are the most assuming person on this board mock. You argue sh!t that you have no idea whether or not it has been discussed. There has been a lot of interest in this guy here even though he is a backup in Oakland. Who cares where he was drafted.

He was discussed as a potential as about any other player in the NFL. This isn't some big loss as you try to make it. Not all of us cared about the turd.

I do laugh the Raider fans show up during the offseason and hardly ever during the regular season. Maybe 1 or 2 will show it's ugly mug. Pretty ****ing pathetic your franchise is these days. Especially creating a thread regarding a turd.

Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Raiders re-signed defensive tackle Terdell Sands to a four-year, $17 million contract. The deal includes a $4 million signing bonus.

The deal includes base salaries of $800,000 (2007), $1.2 million (2008), $1.3 million (2009), and $4.6 million (2010). We had him targeted as a sleeper for a team in free agency, but the 6-7/335-pound Sands will probably get a great chance to push Tommy Kelly to start in 2007.

Who's his agent? Master P?

That's chump change.

Yep, thought so. Dude got raped. He probably could have made at least half again, if not out right double, that contract on the open market.

Not sure why he resigned with the Raiders... He would have had obvious interest on the market from teams that have a chance at winning some games. Oh well his loss!

No big deal.

I happen to think there is plenty of help along DT in free agency this year and DE in the draft, we just have to be wise about who we bring in.

Obviously since they are allowing Myers to walk, they must have an eye on a few guys at DT that could be available and I agree completely.

Here are the guys who I think could be brought in and would be upgrades:

Albert Haynesworth: Even if we have to spend a 3rd on this guy, we couldn't get close to the same value on a DT in the draft.

Corey Simon: Yes he's a turd, but a talented one. If his weight issues are behind him then we could grab him for a 2nd day pick.

Tommy Kelly: The faders signed Sands. This is the guy that starts ahead of him. He is a RFA so I'm loathed to send the raiders a pick but they might not have the money to sign him if we offer him a deal. He's racked up 9 sacks and over a 100 tackles that last two years and is only 26.

FAs:

Ian Scott/Alfonso Boone: Solid run stuffers for Chicago. They already have Tank Johnson/Harris/Dvorack so they can't committ too much $$$ here and will let these guys hit FA.

Hollis Thomas: Again a solid run stuffer but aging.

Cory Redding: If he's not franchised.

Rien Long: four years ago when the Broncos were d*cking around with Bryant Mcneal, Ben Claxton, Adrian Madise, Aaron Hunt, Clint Mitchell, Nick Eason, Pierce, Foster and that abomination of a draft class, the Titans drafted Long instead of us in the 4th much to my disgust. He's a self made player with a ton of heart, grit and motor. Until an achilles injury landed him in IR for 2006 he was fast growing into a very, very good DT (9 sacks, 70 tackles in two season as starter at 22 years old). He's under the radar at the moment because of that injury but I would love it if the Broncos bring him in because he'll come for cheap to prove he has his health back (he's only 25), and he will not be found lacking or wanting for effort. We could sign him to an incentive based contract or even a short one year tryout without breaking the bank.

But the Broncos passed on him before and chose a bunch of turds in the draft so I wouldn't be surprised if they repeat that same mistake. This is the kind of sh*t that really bothers me.

Give it up with Corey Simon already. Slap and I have both told you that he probably won't be playing another game in the NFL.

They are not allowing Myers to walk, they are allowing him to see what his value is on the open market. Shanahan has stated, I believe, that he would like both Myers and Carlisle back, but he thought it was only fair to let them see what they would be worth.

It wouldn't be a surprise for both of them to re-sign with the Broncos.

I like the idea of going after Vonnie Holliday for about 3 million then also drafting Dt like Mebane or Brown.I think Holliday played under Bates at Miami so he Knows Bates defence.

Simon says

The Colts are in the Super Bowl but Corey Simon, the former Eagles defensive tackle they signed in 2005 to a reported 6-year, $30 million contract, is not. The Colts placed Simon on the non-football injury-illness list early this season and said they would not pay him, amid conflicting reports about what might have been wrong. The players association filed a grievance on Simon's behalf. He seems unlikely to play again for Indianapolis.

Contacted by phone yesterday, Simon said he has been working out and intends to resume his career next season.

No offense dude, but it looks like you know sh*t about this.

I'm dissapointed. At the money that Terdell is being paid I would have liked to see him here in Denver. I'm not that confident about him as a starter, but we need a big body who can stuff the run on our D-line, particularly with the quality of running backs in our division.
