I fear its officially to freaking late. Our country has slipped so far from what it was and should be that I dont see us coming back. Seriously from top to bottom the country as become a mess.

The only hope is people get their heads out of their ***'s and start paying attention. Even with that what can the average American do??? Not very damn much. We are force feed career politicians to vote for. The courts let child preditors off with slaps on the wrist. Our education system flat out sucks. Teen pregnancy/STD rates are at an all time high along with drop out rates. Drug/alcohol use is thru the freaking roof. Truckers drive slow in the fast lane. Kids shoot up schools/malls. I'm thinking about going out like watermock. Happy and drunk ;D

We could go on forever about what the govt spends money on we don't like. The federal government is set up to handle international affairs that it feels are important to our lives in the long run back home. We may not understand 400 billion dollars to fight a 4-5 year war that looked over after a few months. Trust me I understand where you are all coming from. The one guy said man what that would have done for New Orleans and I agree probably would have helped. The thing is though it doesn't work that way. If you think that money would have been spent on those things if war hadn't happened you are crazy. We all know it wouldn't have. Bush would have tried to use that money to stimulate economy with tax breaks etc etc not give it all to NO ( only one state in the union). It's just like why does everyone have to pay for schools even though I don't have or want kids? It's because it benefits the nation as a whole. Just like securing oil benefits the nation as a whole. The refugee that we will bring over will be ones that have really bad stories, have helped us forces etc etc. Kids with nowhere to go. A few here and there we can help just like we do in every war. I do however understand where you are all coming from I just don't think you all see the big picture all the time.

I do understand why you are upset. Don't go adhering one issue to another though. The amount spent and your opinion it's been wasted don't go together because hindsight is 50/50. For all we know this protects our economy for next 50 yrs and means a lot more then a few 100 billion dollars. I agree though a staggering amount that us ordinary Americans have trouble picturing.

How about "adhering" cuts for programs designed/ instituted to assist elderly and children with medical needs and shifting that to warmongering budgets.
PURE BS!

Now you see it, now you don't.

We have a bunch of magicians balancing our national checkbook!

I also believe this is not PROTECTING our economy, but is in fact guaranteeing that we will be spending more each year to combat the enemies we are creating by our actions.

not really my intention. More just trying to get you to see that even though it seems evil oil is very important to our economy. If we just left Iraq in chaos and Sunnis start getting slaughtered by the 100,000's instead of the 1000's now Saudi Arabia would be forced to intervene somehow to help fellow Sunnis. Then the whole flow of oil could be compromised. Gas goes to being expensive to being rationed. Economy all over the world could go to crap.

I agree that Bush has spent a ton of money and is no fiscal conservative like he led people to believe at first. Just like Clinton turned out to be a lot less Liberal then some Democrats had hoped. Like my Dad always said though before you know it this president will be gone and we will be pissed at how the next one does the job. Not very often is the country really that happy with a President. I mean if you can get 60 percent approval rating for your whole time in office you are doing really well.

How are 7,000 more people without jobs/insurance etc going to help our seniors who cant afford their medication of proper treatment. How are they going to help the overrun health community. let me put it like this .........
I lie on my log books generally not that big of a deal , small fine , or shut down for 10hours ......
but now if I get caught with mislabeled or lying on placards on Hazmat , then I get a serious fine up to 100K , OUT OF SERVICE for up to 6 months , and possible jail time .........
see the difference ?true lying is lying , but there are degrees .........

Lying on Placards = Serious , could very well end up in someones death .... or worse in case of an Accident and spillage ......

7000 Iraqi refugees is hardly enough to make a dent. Like I said these will be people that helped US forces or have really sad stories or just get lucky. To try and argue 7000 refugees will drag our economy down is a joke. We can easily absorb these people. I do however want illegal immigration controlled. Once again someone arguing two totally seperate issues as the same issue. These Iraqi refugees are ones we made refugees by destroying homes in an effort to secure American interests. Not the same as some Mexican looking for work and not wanting to follow the rules.
