The best sporting event on the planet is coming soon.

Pez, we doing the annual OM Brackets? Ive been good so I dont get banned before the Madness begins.

For you foreigners, seriously get involved this year. Give it a go! Jens, eddie, UK, blue, BlaK, Scottish, jump into this years brackets. Dont be scared, you cant be any worse than DenFan has historically been and he is a so-called "expert".

Who ya'll got? The top 10 teams or so could all make final four pushes this year. Despite the rankings, Ive watched all the top teams and to me, there doesnt seem to be any clear case locks. Florida has its ebbs and flows, NC is great but still young and it shows in many games (also KUs biggest flaw), UCLA is overrated but a very talented team. A&M is coming on strong, Pittsburgh got knocked down a bit, the Wisconsin Badgers have played solid fundamental basketball all year long, hell even Memphis is looking just as good as they were last year.

So, who ya got? Let's hear some of those comments.

I´ll enter if you want me to. I have the feeling that idiots, who don´t know anything and make their picks based on whether they like the teams´ jerseys, usually do better than the so called experts, who overanalyze everything, in just about any pick´ em in any sport anyway.

Gotta love the cinderella teams. I had George Mason picked pretty far in actually. ;D

Wildcats will make the Final 4 in my bracket, possibly win it all!

We'll have all the links for this year's pickem in the next week.

By the way, here are the champions for the past 4 years in our bracket

2006 - Thomas Smith (http://om.mayhem.sportsline.com/brackets?show_team=79&bracket_number=1) (Who is that again?)
2005 - Darkhawk24 (2x Champion)
2004 - Darkhawk24 (2x Champion)

I know I am a total Homer, but BYU should win a game or two this year. They have a good chance of getting a high seed if they can win at Air Force or at San Diego State and do well in the MWC tournament. Keep your eyes out for them.

Rock Chalk Bucknell!

Sorry Alec, just getting ready for tonight's game where the hawks kick my buffs asses.

Bucknell and Butler have both played really good basketball since they upset my team.

Hopefully we are not one and done again this year. Too young for us to go all the way, much like I feel about UNC, but both teams will be dangerous I suspect and I dont think anyone wants to play them.

I tell you who I am really shocked at is Texas A&M. Those guys are pretty damn good and are going to be one of the teams that make at leas tht eElite 8.

Oh and Dagmar, my bad buddy, forgot about ya. Happens. So many of you Europeans ya'll all look a like to me :D

Always go to hell in the first round?

2 years...yeah in a row.

3 times in 22 consecutive years of Tournament bids (2nd longest in the nation btw) they went out in the first round.

Once by Duke.

Not that Im making excuses here, but to say "always funny to see his bracket go to hell in the first round" is stretching it.

I took KU three years ago all the way and was one Carmelo Anthony away from it. Still won the whole shebang.

Oh, and Hawk's Boys, that might actually offend me if I cared much for College football, but since I dont. Besides, they may suck at one sport, but CU sucks at all sports.

Colorado

The University of Colorado Buffaloes have won 22 team national championships. The following is a list of the teams and years won.

Colorado

Kansas

This year Jens.

ANd football is different than Basketball.

If the two were comparable, that is if Football didnt have a North and South championship OR basketball DID have a north and south championship, I can gaurantee you CU would have like 1 Big 12 title in football and KU would have at least 10 Big 12 North titles in Basketball if not all of them (BIg 12 started in what, 1992?).

ALso Jens, 16 of their national championships you quoted come in skiing. You do realize that America is a big country and most states dont even have mountains right? Of the Big 12 teams, CU and CSU are probably the only two that have skiing programs. Kansas, Texas, Missouri, Iowa and Oklahoma are a wee bit short on mountains. You cant count 16 titles from a sport that other schools in its conference dont even compete in and compare it to basketball or football which has literally hundreds of schools and dozens of major programs competing every year.

Concerning sports that actually matter: Basketball and Football, KU > CU.

Sure, CU is better than KU in football, but thats like saying cow **** is better than rat ****. Conversely, KU is considered one of the nations elite programs annually, and CU is, well, dog ****.

So, KU is like a 3 in football and CU is maybe a 5.

KU is a 9 in Basketball and CU is like a 1.

CU sucks monkey balls and so do their fans.

And so do Germans who try to interfere. 4321~

My pattern is that I get out of the first round pretty well and then get blown to hell in the next two rounds. If I survive those, I usually make a small rally at the end. Forecasting the beginning and the end is usually easier for me than forecasting the middle.

We are all set stg. Ive already sent my first **** talkin post.

And Rhymes, that OU game was a good game. Lets us know we gotta stay on our toes, even if the opponent is inferior. The Texas game was even better. Showed a lot of character beind down by 12 at the half to rally back. Sure, Durant hurt his ankle, but we had already come back and were up by 6 points when he went down.

Rock Chalk just jumped to #2 in the AP and Coaches polls. Thanks to an untimely loss by UCLA (though, they had their conference wrapped up and Washington had something to play for, a tourney berth).

Conference tourney's this week, the madness has already begun.

I dont know if you guys have been watching Championship Week, I have and have been since the early 90's, but the teams that were suppose to win their conference tournaments have thus far - Winthrop, Davidson, VCU, Gonzaga. This bodes well for the bubble teams in the big conferences like Kansas State, Clemson, which has a play-in game in my book against Florida State. K-State does as well against Texas Tech.

Those are four spots opened up to teams from the major conferences with the favorites winning their conference tourneys.

One of the more intriguing stories will be if Old Dominion, Santa Clara, Drexel, make it.

And keep an eye on how UMass does in the A-10 tourney. To me, they have to make it to least the title game to make it to the NCAAs.

Rock Chalk

They are actually playing a round in Spokane. I've seriously considered heading up there next weekend for a game or two. But, in order to purchase tickets, you had to puchase the full package and it was just a bit more than I care to spend. So, if I did head up there next weekend, it would only be if I could find individual game tickets for a little less.

I did manage to catch the Wildcats @ Ducks in January. It was a blast...almost got killed leaving, but fun, nonetheless! :sunshine:

Last time I went we hung out at some rockin' bar near Key arena after a Def Leppard concert. I can ask around for you. But, your best bet is to talk to BroncoBuff.
