A bill introduced last week by Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX) is beginning to raise eyebrows.

[It] would require ISPs to record all users’ surfing activity, IM conversations and email traffic indefinitely. The bill, dubbed the Safety Act by sponsor Lamar Smith, a republican congressman from Texas, would impose fines and a prison term of one year on ISPs which failed to keep full records.

it actually wouldnt really cost anything, all that stuff can be saved in a database at little cost, one im sure they would finance. For instance take Aol who released a list of all their users and what they searched but scrambled their screennames and documentation they inputted. Caused a lot of uproar and such. So its already being done in places, they just want to have unlimited access to it.

And no this wont pass, though in the old congress i wouldnt be suprised if it did.

I thought hell yeah , I can do this ........ but i'm working on starting up a few different business ventures - and i don't go into detail at work with people i work with (i'm very protective of my ideas)....

But this guy at work, who is only 2yrs younger than me says he wants to run a business so he has other people do the work for him. I looked him square in the eye and told him "it'll fail and be closed in less than 1yr". He just looked at me and couldn't believe i said that.

So it's not all young people either - because some older guys at work - don't want to work to succeed - they just want to do enough to get paid.

I like getting paid as well - but the job is always done my way and done well. I think that's why i don't like having a boss - because their way sucks and mine rules!

The "youth" of today require guidance to expedite their learning curve on what is and isn't important, before the "reality" train runs them over. then again, many insist on being run over multiple times before it finally sinks in. I'm thinking the youth of today is not unlike past generations in some respects, exact opposite in others..dman
