I was a big fan but after the first round of thier "Bush is an a**hole" stuff I towed the right line and hated on them. Now it dosn't matter too much I mean there are plenty enough folks who don't like Bush and I don't s*** on them, so why should I care if Natalie maines dosn't like him?

absolutely it is both Spider. Unless it's not political because they most definitely have talent. All of them do. Especially the one that plays fiddle. I'm not really in too much country (hank williams, waylon jennings, willie nelson are cool) as a fellow musician you have to respect how talented those 3 women are. I think the political part only helped some and maybe got them a couple extra awards. When Steely Dan won album of the year over Eminem and Madonna 3-4 years ago a lot said it was because Eminem had been controversial, but really Steely Dans album 2 against Nature was unlike anything else that had been made since, well old Steely Dan albums. All real musicians knew that Steely Dan deserved it. I think Dixie Chicks got a little more then maybe they should have but still no complaints here that they are talented.

I just wish they would go away, like I wished New Kids on the block, backstreet boys, and that other stupid boy band that the guy who was screwin britney was on would go away.

I think Keven Federlines poop has more talent than those 3 but, well, thats just my opinion.

BTW, just got back from Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. You want to know what talent is, go see them. Greatest concert I have ever been to. That old bastard is 61 and when he sings, his voice sounds like it did in the 70's. And that saxophone player, man. Just glad I got to see him while he's still kickin. A true legend if you ask me.

C&W is not my cup of tea by a long shot....talented they may be.

I find them interesting because they have played the media well on this in true situationalist fashion. I think you have to go back to Ice T's Body Count (the "Cop Killer" thing) for the last time the media/politicans/public got all worked up this much over a band's comments or songs. The politicians & public needs it's nose tweaked and face slapped every once in awhile...cudos to them for being the unlikely entry into the rhelm of bona fide shock entertainers.
