LOOMIS — Dogs owned by Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest have spent a total of 77 nights at the pound since July because of poor care by their owner, costing the NBA star $1,942 in boarding and impound fees, county records show.

Placer County animal control officers have gone to Artest's five-acre estate seven times in that period in response to callers' complaints about dogs being loose or not being fed.

Allan Frumkin, president of the Sierra Ridge Estates Homeowners Association at the gated community where Artest lives in Loomis, about 25 miles northeast of Sacramento, said some neighbors stepped in and cared for the dogs themselves.

"It became general knowledge that he wasn't taking good care of his dogs," said Frumkin. "One neighbor fed them and bought a watering machine for them."

People who get pets then don't take care of them just don't make sense to me. Why get animals unless you love them? I once spent 400 dollars just to have my snake cared for because it was sick. Don't get any animal unless you are willing to do whatever it takes for it's care. What pisses me off about this is giving a dog food and water is so easy. Makes me hope he busts a tendon.

As a watermock, I wouldn't expect anything less Cut...Ha!

400 bucks for a snake seems a little pricey, but it was probably exotic. When Beezer just about got his tail taken off by the Rottie who has been taken to jail repeatedly for running loose, I called the Old Man, (who was a medic on Normandy)....Awww...they are pretty tough...he'll be fine..Ha! He kinda looked like that bear with his ass shot off in The Great Outdoors movie. The fur grew back sure enough, but it's gray...heh.

The first thing you tell a young child that wanted a pet is that they will be responsible for it's care. Unfortunately, too many kids don't take that seriously. Apparently, noone cared for Artest as a child so he doesn't feel any responsibility. Considering his violent outbursts, I have no doubt he has beaten them, and I bet they are just attack dogs to protect his bling in the house. I'm surprised anyone had the balls to even bring them food and water. He doesn't have the money to pay for a dog nanny?

mock it was my female mandarin rat snake I bought from pro exotics(owned by chad brown) She makes babies with my male so I need her. The vet kept her for 6 weeks had to do a lot of intravenous medicine and food etc.

as far as artest I guess there was more to that story then I printed. He says later on he has hired a dog nanny to do just that!!! At least hes doing it now but it shows a lack of respect for pets.

as bad as people can be to eachother it's amazing to see sometimes how far people will go for an animal. I'm not trying to say these people did anything that big here they didn't. Had it not been a stars dog it wouldnt make news. I'm just saying people will do a alot for animals sometimes.

Looks like I'm worth 45.00. I wonder what a neutered African Wildcat with bad habits can bring on the open market....

the thing with pets is they are usually only valuable to the owner. If the cat is trained to scratch out the eyes of large truckers from Wyoming, then I may need that kitty.

He's declawed in the front and I had his balls torn out. If he had those weapons, I might of sold him to you for an equitable price. I'm sure I can deliver another from the farm however. Fully equpped.

I haven't checked on the tribe, but they must be cold. Less and less neices to care for them now and the tribe has suffered...I'm sure I could find you one tho. Wait for the spring hatch.

Too bad he doesn't live here, they recently passed legislation to make animal abuse a felony. It says so much about a person that would abuse an animal.

About that tendon, if it should happen I hope they let him lay there and walk away.

You can't blame Ron he just got his dogs and his dawgs mixed up with his new rap album coming out. Just imagine rapping on his label and being fed kibbles and bits:wiggle:

Would you expect anything less from a criminal that should be in jail?

My daughter's cat has been at the vets since last Thurs with a bacterial infection in his digestive system. Waiting on blood work to see if he can come home. As of Sat they said he'd be ok and didn't appear to be going diabetic. Cat's a moneypit, but she loves him. So's my wife. So why am I paying? I just hope to get 6 years outta this thing, and have him alive when she leaves for college.

Don't give anything but a kitten any milk. I give Beezer a sip once a month. That's it.

He'll probably live to be 20.

Vet called. Cat's white cells are still up at 21900. Cat doesn't tolerate liquid antibiotics, so the vet's gonna keep him till Wed, shooting him up with antibiotics. Cat will be "fine" though. I got over a thousand in bills on that sob just in the last 24mos. Ben DIED cheaper than this sob. My wife and kid love him though. Little ficker took a swing at me and tried to bite when I tried to put him in his cage.
