View Full Version : If you died, would anyone tell us?

DomCasual

BroncoBuff just brought up Saddletramp on another thread. He was here last summer, posting like a madman. Then, all of a sudden - no more posts.

I'm not saying he died. His wife probably just took away the Internet. But it did make me wonder - if you died, would anyone here know about it? Or would you just stop posting? My wife knows I post on a Broncos Messageboard, but I seriously doubt she would know where to go to tell anyone. And I bet it would be several months before one of you insensitive bastards said, "Hey, whatever happened to..."

Would anyone you know come tell us?

Good stuff.

I've from time to time wondered where old so and so went.

I doubt anyone would tell you if I woke up on the wrong side of the dirt. Im just hoping the legend of Hotrod would remain on the Mane for all of time. ;D

Divorced? Wasn't he the one with the picture of his son wearing a big ol' cowboy hat as his avatar? Every time I saw that thing, I would say to myself, "That poor kid may as well have been born with a third nipple in the middle of his forehead for the abuse he's going to take." Who knows, though - maybe everyone wears a big ol' cowboy hat where he lives?

You've got some funny ideas about the English language, son.

The source of this is from the early twentieth century. The St. Louis Browns had a brother team playing second base and shortstop, and batting 3rd and 4th in the order. The players names were Marty and Kin Maroney. Every time Marty would get done batting, the PA announcer (back then, they just used a big cone, but I digress) would bellow, "Next up, Kin Maroney!"

Well, sadly, one day Kin Maroney was trampled by a mountain goat. It was a tragic way to die for one of the most popular players on the Browns club. The next game, when Marty Maroney finished his first at bat, the crowd started chanting, "Next up, Kin! Next up, Kin!" There was nary a dry eye at the ballpark that day.

But the story goes, one of the fans in attendance that day was an attorney. He decided that he would honor Kin Maroney by using the term "Next up Kin" in each of the last wills and testaments he did from that day forward. The concept stuck, and today the term is accepted legal jargon.

That just recently happened to a friend of mine. I talked via IM almopst every day to him, (we used to work together). Went to his house several times, etc. Then he and his GF broke up, so he moved, and I did not know where his new place was. He called me on a Monday night, sorta late and I did not answer. It had been a few weeks that I was unable to get a hold of him, and found out thru massive contacting of mutual friends he had died in his apt from an overdose. He died the morning after he tried to call me. Still haunts me to this day, especially if I hear the ring tone I had for his calls.

Stupid kid was taking "bars" and drinking.

I don't even know whee he was buried at to go pay my last respects to him. Trying to find that out still, and he passed Nov. 7th

I have a feeling it was just his close family members present.

Heck, it was a mere two years ago when I had cancer and there was very little time for me to even relay messages to family let alone tell me Mane brothers that I was sick... But, when everyone did find out eventually, it was a very strengthening time for me to get support from my online brothers and sisters here. I would only hope that if anyone here got sick they would come to get support from our community since it is so tight and we are all family!

Hilarious! The man averages 31 posts per day!

I've watched him die of horrible mutilating death in several really bad debates where he was like a lion getting chewed up buy a pack of Hyenas. I watched in gross fascination as his post count got smaller and smaller until suddenly Mock was banned! It was gruesome silence aftewards. There was talk the Orangemane would collapse from a lack of interest. Elvis had left the building.

Forget me...I'm more worried about people seeing what's in my puter! I have a nightmare that at my funeral they start playing my files and people alternately laughing or spitting at my cold stiff body.

My will says that I shall be cremated along with my computer.

This could be important

Did anyone see "My Names Earl" last night?

I DVR NBC from 7-9 (central) & scan through Earl beacuse of that hot chick that playes his ex. Well it was about a guy who dies that no one knows who he is & has a pauper burial or something, I only watched enough that it turns out he lived his life on his PC.

Turns out once Earl emails(? I was falling asleep and didn't see the whole thing) all his online buddies he has a Huge Wake with all the guy's internet friends...

Seemed very Appropo..
