New Minnesota coach snags son
Prep QB Brewster switches from Illinois to Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Clint Brewster wore a University of Minnesota T-shirt last month at the press conference introducing his father, Tim, as the new Gophers football coach. But at the time, the blue-chip quarterback from Denver made sure to mention he was committed to Illinois.
Let's hope he held on to that shirt, because "I'm definitely wearing a Gophers shirt now," Brewster said. He withdrew his commitment to Illinois on Sunday and said he will sign with the Gophers on Wednesday.

I'm not really surprised, but it Looks like Illinois is having a great recruiting year.

Too bad Zook can't coach as well as he recruits.
Looks like the rich get richer this year. I have read two sites now that have six of the top ten recruiting classes going to the SEC.

Guess how FL won the national championship? Zook is a hell of a recruiter and brought FL back to dominance. A majority of those players were recruited by Ron Zook.

Spurrier has made a huge splash in Columbia with a top five class. 4 of those 6 are in the SEC East! That division is so brutal.
Furthermore, Alabama and Ole Miss have top 25 caliber classes. Recruiting season is so big in the south that they have shows devoted strictly to the wars.

Clint's good, but a bit overrated. At least half his offense is going D-1 this year or will next year.

The only thing more corrupt than Southern politics is recruiting and boosters.

Not a suprise at all Illini fans knew this was coming we still have juice at qb who could develope and be very good considering the top flight recievers we have coming in that may actualy be able to catch a football.
And yes all of the starting players on the national chamionship team except for 1 were recruited by zook
Illini are going to a bowl game next year i guarantee it. you heard it here first.

If he visited over the weekend and liked what he saw, he must have a strong battery in his car, or left it running like many of us here. My Intrepid screams like a cat with it's tail stepped on for a few seconds...needs a belt or new something that doesn't want to spin...today it wasn't so bad...heat wave...it's 8F.

Juice has a comparable arm to Cutler. The man just lets the thing fly. They may go to the Motor City Bowl or something, but I doubt they'll be playing anywhere near New Years'. They had some trouble beating Eastern Illinois last year.

Yeah they lost at home to Ohio... not Ohio State, Ohio...
Zook is a terrible game day coach. I was at the Indiana game this season and he single handedly blew that game with a ton of stupid calls... like going for 2 3 times with the lead and failing and eventually losing by 1 point.

My brother-in-law is down at U of I, so I always make it to at least 1 game. They have just been pathetic over the past two years.

Vante Davis is a beast true freshman singlehandedly shut down Ted Gin, also managed 1-2 sacks on troy smith during that game. Leman is constantly making big plays. Theres a reason he led the big 10 in tackles last year and another part of that is the d-line which played great last year and which has been upgraded with the with 3 top 20 d-line recruits.
