View Full Version : A SB Ring for Manning or Griese?

I just realized if the Bears win the SB, Brian Griese will get a SB Ring. Yeah, I should have realized this long ago, but BAM!, it just hit me. That said, I believe although Peyton Manning is one of the Broncos biggest recent enemies, I would rather see him get a SB ring than Brian Griese. Griese simply doesn't deserve one.

I hate Peyton, but that's because he's good.

He deserves one.

Griese already has one, still I am pulling for him to get another as a backup

Yea, Griese won one holding a clip board in 98... I'm not a Manning hater... dude has serious skills... I would love to see him win one... I only hate him when the Broncos are on the opposite sideline!

That is all,

Michael

Brian Griese deserves a ring like Sam Jacobson deserved a ring on the 2000 Lakers.

I'm pulling for the 6'5, 230 lb quarterback with a laser rocket arm...

Griese already has a SUper Bowl ring...and if the Gods make it so...he'll get another in the same fashion.

Why doesn't Griese deserve one?

The life of a backup means that you have a chance to get a ring when you hardly did anything to earn that ring. That's just the way it is. I figured out one good reason for Manning to have a ring, though. His head might expand so much that he can't possibly fit into a studio to do his next annoying commercial...

Finally somebody tells the truth about the hate for Manning. It's because he's that good, not all the other BS reasons I've heard.

I can accept this reason for hating him.

Griese definitely deserves another ring...hopefully he gets into the game and leads them to the victory.

I think it's a funny question with the funny answer going to Griese getting his second ring. I don't care if Peyton gets "his" ring. NOBODY deserves a ring. It isn't "EARNED". You either get one or you don't.

A lineman gets his eye popped out by a careless official. Does he now suddenly "earn" a Superbowl ring? Screw Peyton. Play the game like everybody else and take your shot at it.

FYI: I don't care if Peyton gets it because I like Dungy that much. I have been a longtime Bears fan so I don't care if they get it. It's all good!

Who cares if Griese gets another ring? It's not like he contributed to the SB win at all anyway. If he was a starter, then that would be another story. But he's on the sideline, so who cares?

Lots of comments givng me food for thought on the matter. I somehow equate "winner" and SB ring together in my mind. I know backup QBs get them while riding the pine instead of leading their team but to me, that doesn't make them winners unless they played a role like Brister did for example. Sure, he has shown up, played at times and collected his check - but Brian Griese equates uber-suckiness in mind. I don't think he could lead a team to anywhere but mediocre. It doesn't help that I recently saw the replay of the pick that sidelined TD, too. Yes, it is all personal bias. On the other hand, I just dislike Peyton when he hands us our collective ass. He has led his team to the SB.

When SOB cranks in his second ring, all the haters will have to shut up.

The real question should be: Will anyone pull a "Eugene Robinson" before the Super Bowl?

Going with Team Brian (Grease-me and Urlacher). I normally pull for the AFC, excepting Oakland and Baltimore, but I gotta go with DA BEARS. Brian Urlacher is the biggest thing outta my home state since Smokey the Bear.

My money's on Ricky Manning... if he doesn't punch someone in the face first.

If you ever met the man it also goes along ways to vote against him. I am not knocking what he can do but I dont like him.
