Looking at our front 7 facturing age of Wilson Gold where we usually draft and FA which scheme would get us a dominate front 7 fastest 4-3 or 3-4.
Not suggesting a switch just curious.

stay 4-3... we'd have to completely retool our front 7, especially our backers since Gold & Wilson are too small to shed blockers, our line has maybe one guy that could play a 3 man front... Not to mention Bates' brand of D requires a 4-3 configuration... we aren't that far off, we need a weakside DE and a safety that can play run support and coverage. JMO

For starters, we have quality in our front 7 but we need an infusion of younger talent on the DL and OL (like last year) to be really good in years to come. Here's my suggestion for this years pick in round 1:
Quentin Moses (http://football.about.com/od/nflplayerprofiles/p/quentinmoses.htm), DE/OLB Georgia
Moses has the athletic ability to play off the ball in coverage and to rush the quarterback drop this guy back in short zone coverage also!
Justin Blalock (http://football.about.com/od/nflplayerprofiles/p/justinblalock.htm), OG/OT Texas
Blalock is a bulldozer who could play either the right guard or tackle position!!!!! By(e) George!
Grab these two players and we'll have PRYCE II and NAILS II - the rest of the 7 can slowly change around these two. Pat Willis from Mississippi should be a good answer at LB!

quentin moses has yet to show any effort, he had a horrible senior season, a mediocre week of practice in Mobile, AL....and he didnt do anything in the game today either. No thanks to him.
We do not need first round talent on our o-line...we need second day talent that can mature for a year or two and then play, just like always. its a good system.
guys i would like us to look at on the d-line in round one are: Carriker, Okoye, and Spencer in round 1. Abiamiri, Moore, Mebane, Moss in rounds 2-3
