I don't think that's necessarily true. Remember, there aren't any underclassmen here, and many teams fall for the sexier picks who put up crazy numbers in the combine. I think Carriker falls into the "sound" category, and those guys don't tend to rocket up draft boards.
Even with his workout at the Senior Bowl I think he'll be the 4th-6th DE off the board.
Gaines Adams
Jamaal Anderson
Charles Johnson
Quentin Moses
THe above are the sexier picks than Carriker, and then there are guys like Spencer and Abiamiri who could be seen as a better fit for certain teams. Most teams are looking for rush ends, and CArriker is more of an all-around guy who can get to the QB occassionally.

Q. Moses weighing 249? Jeez, that guys a LB. Can't say he will go in front of Carriker no matter what he runs. Thats just super light.
Carriker was a fringe first rounder after all the underclass DLs declared, his strong workouts are just getting him back into the first round. If he breaks a 4.8 40, then he'll defininately be gone by 21.

1. Amobi Okoye/DL/Louisville: Okoye was the talk of the town this week. Weighing in at a chiseled 287-pounds, he displayed tremendous quickness and athleticism from the first practice.
Go back one year and replace the name Amobi Okoye with Broderick Bunkley. Chiseled 287 pounders don't make it in the NFL, unless they're freaks of nature like John Randle (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/4128), and the seven-time Pro Bowler was an undrafted free agent.

I totally agree...sounds like exactly what we need. Maybe we can trade Jake's trade pick (hopefully)...because ink like that moves players up.

I think Okoye can be a good one, but I think he's going to come off the board too high.
I would much rather have Carriker. His versatility would be such a bonus.

I agree. when I first saw him working out I thought "no freaking way. He's way too small." However matched up against some of the best offensive line talent he's done very well and he's explosive. He's good, but not for what we need and the hype is a little out of control right now with him. I don't think he's going to make it out of the top 15 anyway so the point is moot. A guy like Carriker would be alright because he plays the run just as well as the pass, but I don't think he'll be there at 21 either. Jarvis Moss on the other hand...

I would be alright with Jarvis Moss @ 21.
