Other than Gaines Adams and Jamaal Anderson who are the best DEs in the draft and wat are their strengths?
I dont know who I think the best is, so that is the reason I started this thread

Check out the Draft forum there are some very knowledgeable posters talking about this stuff in there.

Adam Carriker from Nebraska. He's an everydown DE that is more of a bull rusher than a speed rusher, which is exactly what he need right now.

Sounds like he would require a move up the boards???

Everything I've read has him going in the later parts of the 1st round.

Of course once we sign Samuel & trade Plummer for Moss we wont need all of our picks ;)

Carriker would be sweet, but his stock is rising very fast and after the combine i bet he is a top 15 pick.

I seriously dont think Carriker will go top 15, there will be only so many Dlineman that are taken top 15-20

given the past four or five drafts,
whoever this board thinks is best,
will NOT be Shanny's pick.
he outsmarts even himself on draft days.

Yeah. Apparently he's blowing up at the Senior Bowl.

i think carriker could be there at 21. If he isnt maybe Okoye(i know he isnt a DE).
We have enough picks and some guys who we could trade to move up to get a stud and then still pick high enough in other rounds to land a few more quality guys. Who ever they pick, I want BEEF on that line. A thick boned, stout as an ox, strong as a bear, motor like a drag racer kinda guy.

I think Carriker would be an awesome pick up for us. But he is getting alot of pub at the senior bowl drills/ scrimmages. I think he will go between 15 and 20.

Im positive we are going to trade up and draft some completely unneeded piece to the puzzle...like QB.

Like I said on another thread: Senior Bowl is a great scouting tool, but it really is a small piece of the total picture. Fans get some visbiltiy into the Senior Bowl and the Combine, but the more important factors are the scouts evaluations from seeing the players play live, tapes of regular season games, personal workouts, personal interviews and background checks which no one but the teams have access to. Senior Bowl is 10% on the outside of most teams evaluation process. That is why there are so many "surprises" during the draft.

Yeah. Apparently he's blowing up at the Senior Bowl.
and once he hits the combine all he physical freakish stats will jump on the scouts at once.
But if he moves up, maybe a guy like Okoye moves down... a 19 year old freak at DT would be sick.
Only 290 or something now, but he has plenty of room to work with to move into the 320 range.
