On NFL Network. America“s Game is well worth watching and I“m looking forward to seeing what they did about the best Broncos team ever. 8pm Eastern.
And for all European fans, NASN Europe is showing America“s Game on Saturdays.

All of the other 7 Back to Back Champions will have one of those Back to Back teams occupy the top 7 spots in this thing.

The back to back Packers, Steelers (twice), Dolphins, 49ers, and Cowboys have all earned their lore over time.
But the notion that the '03 or '04 Patriots are ranked ahead of our '98 bunch is a friggin joke. That team won a ton of close games while we ****ing annihilated people, AND WON SEVERAL GAMES with the Bubster at QB.

On a side note, who truly gives a sh*$ about what the media thinks, everyone who needs to know, knows how truly special those two Bronco teams were, not to mention where they rank in the Pantheon of NFL teams,
1a '97 and 1b '98.

So, the NFL Network is saying it was the 12th best SB of all time, or is it saying this Broncos team was the 12th best team to win a SB of all time?

Didn't the '98 Broncos go 13-0?
Didn't the Broncos beat every playoff opponent they played by at least 13 points?
WTF are they basing their OPINION on?
Rediclous!
I would love to see the '98 Broncos play the 85 Bears or the 78 Steelers. I believe they would hold their own very well.

I honestly don't care what we are ranked. When the series came out I knew we were going to get some bs ranking by the media. Just the way it is with the media voting for the Broncos. Im just used to it.
But even with the crap rating we just got, I truly believe the 98 team, could beat any superbowl team ever. 85 bears, would be the biggest challenge, but the 98 team could beat any niner team, any packer team, can especially beat any patriot team, beat any steeler team, beat any cowboy team. we went 13-0, killed everybody in the regular season and playoffs, 2000 yard rusher, a kicker that nailed a 63 yarder, Bubby Brister had to come in for a few games to replace the greatest qb of all time and we still didn't miss a beat. TD was out alot of the time by the third quarter or even half time and still got 2008 yards and 23 TD's.
But in this ranking we are not even top ten. But I don't care, beause this series is just so darn good. I have watched all of them and enjoyed every show. I was even kind of hoping that we were ranked higher up just so I could watch the 98 team. I can't wait to watch it!
Also, Maybe the 97 Broncos are ranked higher? I have seen commercials of Elway talking about finially getting the ring, and He's not even a commentator on this show. It's TD, stink, and shapre, so I don't know.

The 98 Broncos would stomp the **** out of the 85 bears, the 66 Packers, the 69 Jets, 03 Pats(LMAO what a joke).
The only teams that would be able to hang are the 94 9er's, 90 9ers, and the 93 Cowboys. No steeler team would have a chance.

I watched the preview show they had for this series. More than a few of the sports writers commented that they didnt even want to include either one of the teams in the top 25. Lack of quality opposition in the NFL because of diminished quality due to expansion and salary cap. So, I am a bit surprised that they even rated us down close to single digits.

So the only teams that can ever be considered "great" are those that played before the salary cap era? LMAO, the media becomes a bigger joke everyday.
Anyone who knows anything about football knows the back-to-back Super Bowl Broncos were elite teams.
Hell, the team that lost to Jacksonville the year before was an elite team, but crapped all over itself. I've never had such a sick feeling in my stomach as when I walked out of Mile High that afternoon. It sill lingers with me. We could have had 3 titles in a row. I'll never get over that, eventhough we won 2. What could have been.

I think the 1997 Broncos are a better story than the 1998 squad. I would rather see a narrative done on a team that had to deal with a disapointing end to 96, a late season swoon, were a postseason long shot and had to hear all the inferior AFC talk, 0-4 in Super Bowls chatter prior to XXXII.

You know what really pisses me off as well?? When people go on and on about how the '98 Vikings were so much better than the '98 Broncos and wouldve beat em.
Frickin team chokes at home in their own stadium in their conference title game and people wanna piss and moan about how they were the best in the league that year.
Only answer required for that is, We didn't beat, we smoked a team that was 16-2 when we played em, AND who had already beaten the "best team in the league" in their own house.
Bastards. They're also stupid because the '98 team WAS much better than the '97 team, the '97 team was just a better storyline.
And like it was previously stated, I would put good money on the '98 team against any other team ever to play straight up. God, during the 13-0 run I remember only once where it was actually a game headed into the 4th quarter. (KC game)
Then you look at all the guys who are/should be HOFers. John Elway, TD, Shannon Sharpe, Rod Smith, Tom Nalen, Mark Schlereth, Steve Atwater, maybe Pryce but he was dominant that year. Add to that they had a should be HOF coach at the very top of his game.
God I miss those glory years.

The whole argument of the free agent era, etc. should be a feather in Denver's cap, instead of a slight against them.
The Broncos had a 6th round star RB, a free agent WR, a twice castoff WR, and a 12th round TE occupying the skill positions.
Zimmerman was gone by '98 too. Schlereth was an Idaho Vandal, Nalen was a mid range pick too.
One of the greatest Offensive Machines in NFL history didn't exactly scour the top end of the free agent lists, in order to kick your ass.

Why don't you go and do something useful with your life and go and help decide how much money each of Derek Thomas's 13 children by 13 different women should get from his estate...it's been what , 7 years or something since his untimely death?? What role does "cheating" the salary cap have on the ranking of SB winners (being a chef's fan you wouldn't know what one looks like would you?) The 98 Broncos were a top 10 SB squad--hands down.

They did 40 shows but only the top 20 teams are being profiled in Countdown format.
The other 20 shows are just being randomly shown.
For instance the NFL network showed the 1990 Giants America's Team special out of nowhere a few weeks ago.
The reason?? The N.Y. Cable Monopoly, Cablevision, has not had NFL Network put on any package yet, so most of NY Metro is NFL Network-less.
The NFL Network offered a free week to Cablevision, though Cablevision balked, and only agreed to show the Rugters Bowl game. The NFL Netwrok agreed to put a bunch of New York flavored shows on that week, and Cablevision said **** *** anyway!!

Something I“d kill for is if they made a DVD such as this for the 97 and 98 Broncos. It has every postseason game played by the Steelers that year as well as the radio commentary.

I agree. I would kill for a dvd set like that for the 97 + 98 Broncos. As great as the Steelers run was, the Broncos run was a close second. Not to mention how big of an underdog the Broncos were in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, this doesn't surprise me though I half expected them to be number 20. There are two things working against the Broncos. The first is nostalgia for the 70's which will be the majority of the teams represented in the top ten, and the second is east coast bias which is why the Patriots are ranked ahead of us. If the '98 Broncos matched up against the Patriots, we would have destroyed. Shoot, we do that anyway!:giggle: Anyway, if your team is west of the Mississippi they don't like you, but at least we were ahead of the foreskins and the Giants.

i think the 99 broncos did considerably well when you consider that elway retired, davis blew out his knee in the fourth game and sharpe got injured also. then again, we were 0-3 before davis blew out his knee.

Remember the MNF in Kansas City that year, Elway out and Bubster starting?
They were SO GEARED UP to stop the TD machine, that on I think the very first play, Bubby fajked a pitch to TD - all 11 Chefs went hook, line and sinker - and Bubby ran 55 yards to the 1 (or was it a td?)
