View Full Version : Well How Do You Like That? The Nuggets Didn't Blow The Lead!

Sure as heck tried to though.

Is it Monday yet? Carmelo cannot come back fast enough.

And I'm officially on Blake The Snake's bandwagon.

JR Smith had better think long and hard about his shot selection or he's gonna find himself welded to the bench. Blake is gonna take all of his minutes if he doesn't start playing within the offense.

Agree completely CO.

At the end of the first half, I gave him a pass because he may not have seen the clock, assumed time had run out, and needed to jack a shot up.

But near the end of the game, man, he had some head scratchers. Although that ally oop was sweet.

The last 8 minutes or so were pretty sloppy from the Nugs.

Word to JR. Needs to get his head on straight.

Not sure if I would want him or Blake coming off the bench at this point though. But having Blake or JR setting up at the 3 point line with Iverson and Melo playing off each other is a nice commodity to have.

Nice to see Nene play more then 15 minutes. Hopefully losing some weight will help his knee out and he can play 20+ minutes consistently. We need him to keep Camby fresh and take some of the pressure off.

Plus the nugs moved up to the #7 seed with that victory. Still five games back of Utah though, but a lot of games to play. Need to get that division title if possible and avoid playing the big three the first round.

Does Nene miss a ****load of dunks or is that only when I watch?

His problem is finishing. He actually has some nifty moves down there, but he just misses the layups and dunks.

And my heart almost stopped when he had that huge dunk late in the game, I was so sure he was going to get T'd up for hanging on the rim.

I thought I saw Nene do about four turnovers in a row in the fourth. Sloppy and loss of concentration. Sometimes he plays well. Others, he looks like a big goon in shorts out there.

I like both JR and Blake over the Elf....

Man, you are on the money there ... did you hear Walton blasting him for doing his little "victory dance" before the ball even got to the rim?

That said, this team really looks like it has some chemistry ... I know that's hard to pin down until Carmelo gets back, but I like the depth and interaction in the front court, and Steve Blake is PERFECT! His pace is amazing and he seems to pass well and protect the ball. For this team he's 10x better than Boykins was.

Also a rumor flying around that the Nuggets could be involved in another big trade later...

Did anybody watch the Minnesota/Detroit game? I only saw OT and Double OT trying to catch the Nugs game. I did read this:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Antonio McDyess and Kevin Garnett added some tension to an already-tight game, leaving their fired-up teammates to finish the drama.

Chauncey Billups and the Pistons were a little bit better than the Timberwolves down the stretch.

Billups scored 25 points and made a tying 3-pointer in the final seconds of the first extra period to spark Detroit past Minnesota 104-98 in double overtime on Friday night.

"I know they can win without me. I don't think they can win without K.G.," said McDyess, who appeared to start the angry tangle by knocking Mark Madsen over with a forearm shiver while they maneuvered for rebound position with 5:18 remaining in regulation and the score tied.

Garnett got mad and chucked the ball at McDyess, who charged at Garnett with his fist cocked. Garnett was poised to punch, too, and took a swipe at McDyess as he partially retreated, but teammates and officials stayed between the two and no blows were landed.

I'd never root for a player on a rival team to get injured, but with how the last month as gone, I wouldn't be heartbroken if Minnesota had to play without KG for a few games due to a suspension. But again, I didn't actually see it all happen.

I saw it, no punches were thrown, but something funny did come out of it. For all the crap Carmelo got (and deserved) for his hit and run act in New York, Kevin Garnett ran like grape nuts through a goose when McDyess was coming at him.

I'm assuming you mean the Camby for O'Neal deal. I have no knowledge on this, but I assume it's not going to happen. We don't need any more players that need the ball to score. Marcus is a good fit. If Nene can score with his back to the basket, we're fine.

Jermaine O'neal for Marcus Camby? Huh? It would probably have to be Camby and Smith for O'neal because Indiana will not be able to score more than 75 pts a game with a starting lineup of Jamal Tinsley, Danny Granger, Marcus Camby, Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy. That is just fuggly.

You're obviously underestimating the greatness that is Danny Granger.

No New Mexico bias here. You see nothing. Please move along.

I've never liked Garnett. As a player he does some great things, but in his mind he's a whipped little boy who puts on a show.

I remember a couple of seasons ago, Garnett was getting worked over in training camp by some big white stiff trying to make the Wolves. Garnett's only response was to sucker punch the guy in the face in the middle of practice. The Wolves later cut the guy to save Garnett some trouble. I've thought that he was a poser ever since. It doesnt help that the guy has never been able to carry a team.

If Garnett was under a bigger microscope, I think that the general public's opinion of him would be changed dramatically. He's a loser.

Actually on that monster dunk he followed the rules. He swung on the rim because he would have come down on Olgaskis because he fell down. The rules stipulate you are allowed to hang on the rim to avoid coming down on a player.

I watched the game on Altitude. I prefer to listen to announcers who follow the team all year. The team doc made an awesome statement about Nene. He has now played a few games and practices without the knee swelling. When asked if Nene has turned the corner he said, "Well not sure about the corner but he has driven to the end of the block."

I wish I had Altitude. As soon as we switch to a satellite, I'm going to make sure it's in our package. That is a pretty funny quote though.

And you're right about the guys who watch the team all year. While I generally tolerate/enjoy the ESPN guys, last night the fans were booing LeBron. Bill Walton goes "Why are they booing LeBron, what has he done?"

I'm like, you have got to be kidding me. With all the comparing, with the rookie of the year fiasco, etc, Nuggets fans hate LeBron. It's not rocket science. I get what Bill Walton was saying, because it's not a rivalry or anything, and LeBron is one of the best in BBall to watch, but jeez, get a clue.

Personally, I like Walton as an announcer. He's clueless, yes, but he's fun to listen to. Much more fun than guys like Marv Albert.

Don't get too excited ... I've had it on DirecTV for a long time, and they've always blacked out the live Nuggets and Avalanche. And now, as of last year (NBA) and this year (NHL), no more late late night and next morning replays, either ... those are blacked out too.

Interesting. We had a Dish company, I can't remember which one, and it had Altitude with Nuggets games playing. Then we switched to Comcast, to which all I get is Fox Sports Arizona, which is weak. But they don't show the Suns games either, which is what is happening to you it seems.

I may just plunk down for league pass. I should look into that. Or actually I guess I can't... No sense in buying LP for comcast if I'm going to switch soon... Weak.
