ATLANTA (AP) - Michael Vick reluctantly surrendered a water bottle to security at Miami International Airport that contained a residue "closely associated with marijuana," police said Wednesday.

The Atlanta Falcons' quarterback entered a concourse Wednesday morning at the airport with the 20-ounce bottle. He eventually handed it over and boarded his flight to Atlanta. But his initial reluctance to turn over the bottle aroused suspicion among airport security screeners, a police report said.

The bottle was found to have a hidden compartment that contained "a small amount of dark particulate and a pungent aroma closely associated with marijuana," the report said. The compartment was hidden by the bottle's label so that it appeared to be a full bottle of water when held upright, police said.

No charges have been filed, but police said the bottle would be sent to a lab for analysis.

Vick did not immediately return a phone call early Thursday.

"We plan to look into the matter and discuss it with Michael Vick before having any further comment," Falcons spokesman Reggie Roberts said.

BC 6 reports that Falcons quarterback Michael Vick allegedly had in his possession on Wednesday at Miami International Airport a water bottle with a secret compartment. The compartment reportedly "contained a small amount of a dark particulate and officials describe a pungent aroma closely associated with marijuana."

Vick has not been arrested and the substance is being analyzed by police.

Earlier tonight, we received a tip regarding the incident, and we posted a short blurb without naming Vick. A few minutes later, however, we got nervous about the accuracy of the tip and we pulled the story down.

CBS 4 in Miami also has a story regarding the incident.

And CBS 46 in Atlanta has the first word on the matter from the Falcons, who released the following statement: "We understand there have been reports allegedly involving Michael Vick that took place at the Miami International Airport earlier today. We plan to look into the matter and discuss it with Michael before having any further comment."

It sounds like there wasn't a whole lot left in the secret spot. But really good weed will leave remains on those plastic bottle. I have a secret wd-40 bottle that has a secret compartment makes me feel so sneaky. I hide extra keys in it though because here in california they don't even care about a lil bit of weed.

I'm not sure of much in this world but I'm pretty sure they have been rethinking it's position on QB long before this episode.

Here is another case in point...Charles Barkley dropped from around 400 pounds to 300 and challenged a 67 year old NBA ref to a race down the court. Even funnier is both Skippy and the other clown sided with the ref...and they were serious.

He threw the water bottle in the trash and the guard went into the trash and fished it out. You could say that would have never happened if Vick wasn't famous.

Hey, it's not his fault...he was used to going charter...I dunno...

I remember right after 9/11 and I had to drop my mom off at the Orlando airport in some old SuperDuty Ford with a camper at the airport...I was incredibly nervous...when I pulled up the guy got on the walkie and in seconds three cops were staring at me. Grandma gets off and they all sigh some relief and I leave....I don't know who was more scared.

I should of put on a turban and fake beard...and sunglasses...if I were a masochist. Then I could of sued them for profiling.

I'm assuming by the PS you are referring to his IQ. Of course I wonder the same thing anytime someone in the NFL gets busted. I wish all employers were required to issue sufficient advance notice before requesting (demanding) bodily fluids...
