what do you think about him being our back up QB behind Cutler? shanahan wanted him once, i think he would make a good veteran backup, he played well for philly

He should be starting somewhere. Too good to be a backup

He will come very overpriced for a backup IMO. I would rather us bring in someone cheaper and/or a late round QB who would be a lifetime backup like Chris Leak or Drew Tate, both are very smart film junkies and would make for great backups in this system.

He passed on the Broncos when he could have come in against a guy he could have beat out. He's not going to come in against someone he's got no chance against.

he wants to start and proved it this year. He can stay in Philly and know he will play once McHurt goes out around game 10.

He'll stay in Philly. Garcia only had a legitimate chance of being a starter next season if he carried Philly to the SB. Most likely he will re-sign with the Eagles.

We need a guy who is starter material if Foster's still here. Pay him and sign hiim.

Foster going to play QB? I figured this thread was 2nd string QB's.

Foster plays turnstile and he's likely to get Jay killed...hence the need for another quality QB behind him.

Can't argue with that. Foster should not be a Bronco next year.

What makes you say that? He wants to START, and he's gonna get offers. I'll bet Mooch is kicking himself for leaving Jeffy on the bench last year ... Mariucci might still be there had he named him the starter from Jump Street.

Garcia to Texans?

Chefs?

Dolphins?

If Foster is still here next year, all QBs shouldnt have him as the blind side. I would expect Shanny to have 3 Qbs on the roster and 4th on the practice squad.

Ask yourself this. When's the last time the Broncos carried 3 QB's in a regular season???

He will be starting some where. Not going to take a back-up role.

Garcia will go somewhere with a chance to start not involving injury, he can't get that here with Cutler clearly representing our future.

Also, the Foster hate is getting out of hand. Cut him? Why in hell would we do that? He'd been a decent RT until he dropped off huge last year, and we have him on a pretty cheap contract. Where we going to get a better backup OT/OG with goal line size? He should only start if he shows up to camp with the mean streak he's lost the last few years, but thats fine because assuming Lepsis is healthy we have Pears, who did well at LT in Lepsis' stead, and possibly Meadows who did fairly well replacing Foster. Keep him, just don't rely on him to start.

Garcia is staying with Philly. Rattay will be available and the Broncos should target him.

Yeah, you make a good point. Also, it'd be nice to draft some athletic quarterbacks who are willing to play wide receiver; I think having those slash guys can be great. Like the trick play against Cinci., Shanny is going to have more confidence in those plays if he has a receiver/quarterback handling the ball (ie Smith).

Not to be an OU-homer, but since it is my school, what do you guys think about the chances of Paul Thompson playing such a role? I don't think he'll be drafted very high (if at all). He made some good plays last year at wide receiver.

Bingo... Garcia will be most likely be the starter for the first part of the season. He might as well get comfortable in this system.

Heck, even if Garcia doesn't start or play much next year in Philly, doubtful he'd leave after having success there, especially considering the bad experiences he had in Cleveland and Detroit right before coming to Philly and career thought to be done.

Rattay doesn't have the greatest size or a great arm, but has some mobility, has experience, and the type to just play within the system, and the type to accept a backup job. Tampa has Simms and Gradkowski, so chances are he'll look to go elsewhere.

Thanksgiving?

Whoa, Nellie .... what if they're 9-2 and in first place on Thanksgiving, and Garcia is leading the way? And that is not a stretch if you've watched the Eaglets down the stretch here. I would not envy Andy Reid in that moment .... Donovan is the franchise.
