Any way we could get him? Solvers our RB problem right there.

After today? Get real. Way too expensive.

I doubt he leaves NO. Bush isn't a full time #1 rb, too many Tatum Bell like 1 and 2 yard runs.

I couldn't believe that hit Bush took early in the game on that swing pass. Might of been the Jacked Up of the year.

Yes, Deuce Staley will be available [/sarcasm]

I doubt Shanny and Co look to solve the running back troubles. They seem to prefer drafting their RBs.

Anybody think Amhan Green could help us? He is injury prone but he probably wouldn't be to expensive.

I really think Mike Bell will be the answer. Gain a few lbs and grow up a little.

I saw somewhere that Ahman Green may be in a Giants uniform next year complimenting Jacobs.

And as for the original post, the Saints can't afford to give up Deuce because they don't have another stud RB. I think a team would have to be plum full of fools to trade away Deuce and use Bush as an every down RB

I'd love to have Green. He's one of the most underrated running backs in the league and is alot tougher runner than he's given credit for.

Green has missed games due to injury in 4 of the last 5 seasons. No FA RB blows me away. They all have something that bothers me about them.

Really? How does NO plan to keep the contracts for Bush, BRees, McAlliuster, Horn, Stallworth and (in the future) Colston and bolster their defense and keep the rest of the O(the line specifically) together? If they manage to keep that all together, why the **** cant we keep a good defensive end?

Because Stallworth plays for Philly.

Doh. I was thinking he was in Philly then got traded to NO, not the other way around.

Regardless, no team can afford a Bush contract plus what Deuce is going to want plus the Brees contract plus what Colston and Horn are both going to want.

Deuce actually signed a rather big deal in the 05 Offseason.

We've learned that the new seven-year contract extension that the Saints have given to running back Deuce McAllister creates an eight-year, $53.2 million relationship.

McAllister gets a signing bonus of $7 million, an option bonus of $4 million, and a March 2006 roster bonus of $1.5 million. We're told that, in essence, the deal is a five-year, $28.2 million package.

The salaries, we're told, are $600,000 in 2005, $1.45 million in 2006, $2.6 million in 2007 with a $1 million roster bonus, $3.6 million in 2008 with a $1 million roster bonus, and $5.2 million in 2009. The deal also contains annual workout boni of $100,000 per year.

The $12.5 million in bonus money is, as a practical matter, offset by the $1.7 million reduction in his 2005 salary. Thus, the total bonus money is $10.8 million, and the practical value of the deal is five years, $26.5 million.
