Need some humor to help deal with D-will's loss.
In a move that has been expected, Detroit Lions owner William Clay Ford has officially retained president Matt Millen for another season, according to a television report this morning. Fox 2 Detroit reported that Millen will definitely return for a seventh season to lead the Lions, who have lost 10 or more games for all six seasons Millen has been in charge. The Lions finished the 2006 season with a 3-13 record and will have the second overall pick in the April NFL draft. Millen still has four years remaining on a five-year contract extension he was given last season.

Those pics Millen has of William Ford must be really bad. The NFC north thanks the Ford family for being stupid.

I've been hard on the Hunt family for keeping Peterson so long, and rightfully so, but no matter how bad you have it somebody out there has it much worse.

The estate tax needs to be bigger to force these inbred idgits to sell their assets and let shareholders hire managers.

This is one the most stupid decisions ever in the NFL. I know ever says they can do better then so -and-so's front office but this job Im sure most everyone here could do better. Millen needs to get one of those draft magazines when they come out so he can follow the mock draft and possibly end up with a real player.

I had to blink my eyes and pinch myself after reading this.
This is how you can tell that NFL Franchises just make money hand over fist, win or lose. In no line of business could you **** on your customers like this and still be profitable.

Detroit is a worse situation than KC although that hack KING CARL has had his 5 year plan in place for what ? 15 years.
Now that LH passed on will they finally cut this guy loose ?
I have to think finally he will go and just like there choice in coaches they will find another mediocre bum to replace CARL. Seriously not trying to be an ass but you have to admit this is true. Carl has been there forever like MARTY, then on to Dicky V. and HERMIE who both have about .500 winning percentage.
How do they pick these guys ?
Pin the tail on the DONKEY ? lol

He signed his last contract he said that would be it...I believe it has two or three years left. Lamar's son Clark has stated Peterson is his guy so Carl appears to be there until he wants to leave unfortunately.

What's great about this is that we have to travel to Detroit next year. We can use at least one more year of complete ineptitude.
Seriously, though. How bad would that team have to be, over how many years, for him to get canned?

Excellent point, amazing this guy still has a job. Maybe it's tied into wanting to give Marinelli another year, but you think the owner could bring in someone to replace Millen and still retain Marinelli. Geesh it sure must be hard to be a Lions fan.

Hopefully they'll take Ted Ginn Jr. They could certainly use a WR to complement Roy Williams.

this is great news. He will either tag Furrey or spend all the cap money to resign him leaving a young DT in Redding to test the waters.

I think Millen gets a lot of unfair criticism.
If I was an NFL GM I'd send him a fruit basket after every draft just to say thanks for weeding out the busts at the top end of every round for me.
