For starters, Plummer had a better team around him...

But honestly, I think my defense of Griese was a mistake. While I think that better protection and receivers would have helped him out a great deal, his lack of mobility would have always been a problem. Which is the reason I think that Shanahan and Kubiak couldn't get the production out of Griese that they had hoped for.

That being said, Plummer had a better team this year than Griese had the year he lost his job, but if you look at the stats of the two QBs in their job-losing campaigns, you wouldn't know it. That said in itself, I do think Plummer was the better QB between the two, stats be damned... mobility being the key difference.

But as for winning, thank God for the defense carrying this team early on, even if it meant more injuries that cost us down the stretch. Otherwise we might have started 2-7.
