What did everyone think of Shanahan's decision to punt yesterday from San Fran's 35 and 37-yard lines?
In year's past, those were almost chipshots for Jason. I realize he only missed two FGs this season, but he only attempted 1 at longer than 50 yards. I think there's a big problem if he can't kick from outside 50 anymore at altitude.

That's a good question. Could he still possibly have issues related to the strained hamstring he sustained a few weeks ago?

I don't know if that's it. Shanahan elected to punt rather than attempt a 51 yarder at New England earlier this season also.

Elam made 95% of his kicks this year. It was a difficult decision for Shanny. It was cold, Elam was injured a few weeks ago. I don't blame anyone. I was one call among a thousand that day.
The simple fact is that Denver allowed about 200 yards rushing! Denver missed both Fergusen and Branden and they need a big dominating DT.
I guess we have a whole offseason to overanalyze and second guess everything.

We're not drafting Mason Crosby, Hercules. Just accept it. Elam hurt his hamstring and had he not done so, we'd probably attempted that kick.
