Losing at home to the 49ers with the playoffs on the line, and letting the Chiefs through to the playoffs instead.
I cant think of another term to describe what a heartless, gutless, fruitless, effort that is.
What a HUGE letdown. This is the worst letdown I can remember in the last 10 years of my Broncofandom.
It's time for some changes.

this loos is OK compared to the AFC loss last year...
it took months for me to recover....
we are one win away from reaching super bowl..
this loss is nothing compared to AFC loss.
even if we won this game..we would not have won games on the road this season.
atleast we should feel happy that cutler got enough experience..

Yea, I had to console my son quite a bit after this game. He's fairly new to this stuff and I remember how hard it was to take at his age. Hell, it's hard to take, now.
But, for me.. I think the fact that I considered us such a long-shot helped in dealing with this loss. Not that it wasn't brutal, because it was. (Is) But... it's not like 96 where we were just plowing through teams with a 13-3 record and then lost to a wildcard team.
Today was a mix of bad play and bad luck. We made mistakes, but we also got bad bounces. I mean, Al Wilson wasn't playing today. He's the heart of our defense. That alone might have been worth 3 points. Jay gets his bell rung... we can't punch a ball in from the 1 yard line, etc.
It sucks... I just hope it's enough to light a fire under this franchise to get serious about the defense.

Finally a thread with some originality!

oh well, I missed the second half , and I guess I'm glad for that. I'm at least delighted to see that Jay is ok, as he played the whole second half. I'm pumped about the future, our offensive rookies + Javon make me smile. I had a hell of a night last night and I'm still braindead so this loss doesn't sting as much yet. will probably come later. But anyway, last year was much tougher, and the future is bright!

Again, Im surprised to see how many fans are willing to see an AFC Championship team deconstructed so that they can swim in the warmth of their hopes in Jay Cutler.
Who knows what next season will be like. We know what we had. We dont have it anymore.

The funny thing about this thread is that it also represents how llama feels after the Broncos win.

I'm always critical, yes. BUT, I never feel like the Broncos are spineless pushovers.
Win the Broncos were gutting out wins against excellent teams early in the season, I felt great about the team. You could see the writing on the wall when the team started questioning Shanahan after the QB change.
They followed it up with a couple of gutless losses, a win over a stalwart power Arizona Cardinals team without a home field, a collapse win against the Bungles, and then a gutless loss AT HOME against the world power 49ers with the playoffs on the line.
Alot to be pleased with there as a Broncos fan.
