...Was that some of the worst officiating you've ever seen or what?
The first one was Tatum's fumble. Did Tatum fumble? Yeah. But the play was stopped, the ref was clearing things out, the guy handed the ref the ball for Christ's sake. I mean... just a sketchy play, IMO.
And then, even though the call helped us, that fumble/no catch call was about as bogus as they come. During the game it helped us... But looking back objectively, that was about as poor a call as I've seen. No catch? Come on. I don't know if they just wanted a make up call for the Tatum call, but that dude on the 49ers caught that ball and never fumbled.
I hope it doesn't seem like I'm blaming it on the refs, since the 49ers got just as hosed as we did, but that series of events was just bad. Especially during the "fumble" by the 49ers WR, with all the refs just looking around, waiting for somebody else to blow their whistle.
