What are everyone's thoughts on him? He's a first round talent, but it sounds like he may end up pursuing baseball as well. If so, he could fall to the end of day one. He's not really the type of receiver we need and is similar physically to Marshall, but I think he'd be hard to pass up at the end of round 3. He could be a more athletic Ed McCaffery who does all of the little things, is big, and has great hands.

No need for him. As you say he is the same as Marshall and Walker. A speed receiver is a need, but not another big guy that can't stretch the field.

some educated ND fans i know think that he is a product of weis and quinn. its possible, if you look at his numbers from soph to jr year, i think theyre pretty drastic.

Too much hype for me. I can think of a good number of wideouts I'd rather pick than him...
Lessee here:
Meachem
Rice
Bowe
Williams
Bowman

I would agree there are a lot of WR's I'd rather have this year, but they'll all be gone much earlier, assuming he doesn't choose football prior to draft day. Like I said, I'm not sure he's a great fit, but the value at the end of day one may be too much to pass, at least in my opinion. Overall, Higgins, Meacham and Bowe would be higher on my list, but may all be gone by our 2nd round pick.

if he came to denver he'd have cutler and shanahan....keeps on movin' up!
i have heard reports that he is thinking he can play both pro football and pro baseball....don't know how he's going to pull that off. might just end up ruining his chances in both! not gonna have your pie and eat it to in the cutthroat world of prosports
I thought he had a great game in the 1st half of the sugar bowl. Plays with a little bit of a mean streak which is always great. The baseball career looming should cause him to slip. It is concerning.

No thanks. Is even going to play football? He seems like he'd be better in baseball.

Unless he commits to football, he'll slide. Nobody will risk a very early pick on a guy who WANTS to play two sports.

yes. i was just being sarcastic, because i think every player is a product of those around them to some degree....so to single out one successful player and say he had nothing to do with it, it was his QB and coach is ridiculous....i never saw charlie weis out there catching any balls
