View Full Version : Randy Moss for a 3rd rounder.......

brian85in
12-26-2006, 01:42 PM
Salary cap considerations aside, would any fans on this board be willing to give up a 3rd rounder to have Moss & Walker teamates in 2007? I for one would, but my concern would be salary and stunting Brandon Marshalls development. I am making the assumption that Rod Smith calls it a career at the end of this season.

There's talk the Raiders are willing to trade Randy Moss back to the Vikings, who are desperate for wide receivers and probably could get him for just a third-round pick.

this thread is purely hypothetical: Rod retiring, Moss restructuring his contract, etc.....

I'm sure that Moss would be just thrilled with the idea of being a #2 receiver.

From what I've seen this last year, Brandon Marshall is a better WR than Randy Moss.

Why make that deal?

WR is our strongest position....

i say no...we need our 3rd rounder to help address our real areas of weakness....

The Broncos are a running team. It's hard enough to keep Javon happy. Adding Moss would only disgruntle Walker because that would mean less balls his way. Moss can't block for crap. Moss is a head case. Raiders DON'T trade with the Broncos. Marshall WILL be a stud on the other side of Walker.

Forget it. Adding another receiver is the LAST thing this team needs.

Marshall really showed his skills are getting better and better. Did you see the hand and foot work on that reception on the 1 yard line. He's not just some big strong kid with no hands. He is a star in the making. In a few years, I can see him being just as good as Walker, maybe not quite as fast but he'll be, already is, a nice weapon.

That's beyond hypothetical. Try zero chance...yet alone that we don't trade with divisional rivals, expecially Oakland.

No....no, no no no and....again NO!

We have a lot of young up and coming talent....let's keep the headcases at a distance! We need more Rod Smith's to groom our young talent! That guy is all class! Now, give me someone with Rod's talent and class and that might just be a consideration!

Didn't you see Walkers 2 TD catches the last 2 weeks? We don't need a waste of sperm.

Hypothetically....Hell no...

Doesn't anyone remember the WRs we had in 97/98? They had talent (maybe not the best but more importantly they had character). Maybe Javon isn't a Rod type "team guy" but he's stepped up and kept his mouth shut enough. We obviously have a rookie with a helluva lot of potential. Not worth screwing what we have going for Moss.

I actually like randy moss for the most part.

That being said, i don't know if i'd want him on my team. But i hope he goes back to Minni. His beef was with culpepper to begin with anyway.

Never. I'm old school, you just don't trade with the Raiders. If they had LT, Manning and Jason Taylor and offered them up for a stick of gum - you STILL turn it down.

Moss has talent but he only chooses to show up on the occasional play. B. Marshall looks to be the real deal and I see now reason that he and Walker can't be a star studded tandem with Kircus a nice 3rd in the year(s) to come. I'm very excited about our passing game without Moss ever entering the picture (other then as a parasite at Oakland).

The best move is to let Moss stay where he is. It's pretty easy to defend against 1 WR...Curry.

I hate threads like this... First, it's not even a possiblity. There's no way in hell the Broncos are even going to trade anything with the Raiders with Shanahan and Davis at odds. Not to mention Bowlen and Davis. So it's already a pointless discussion. Second, we don't even have a need at WR. So the pointlessness of the discussion doubles itself.

What a stupid thread.

I don't think locker room spread = distant metastasis. I'd go more along the lines of "locally invasive" IMO.

I wouldn't have a problem with moss coming on as a bronco (if the price was right), the mans sprit has been crushed in faderville and i think he just may realized. (having a good team) is a good thing and i think hes still got some game in the tank and may be useful. (to the right team)

Everything that you put in parenthesis is what would make it a bad idea. :)

Just too many qualifications to ever make it work.

That being said, I would take him for the right price, too.

I think Moss will play hard if he's on a good team. He played hard in MN, when they were good. This year, he doesn't give a crap, because the team sucks. So he's not going to try. I'm not saying that's excusable...it's not...but that's Randy's mentality. If he was to come to Denver, or any other playoff contender with good players and a good coaching staff, he would revert back to the record-setting Randy Moss we all remember.

Now, on the other hand, TO will play lazily and have a bad attitude no matter how good his team is. Moss just lost interest because his team blows.

All that being said, we don't even need him. Spend the money on our other needs. For the future, we have Walker and Marshall, (and wherever Rod fits in for a couple years), and maybe Kircus at #3 after Rod is gone.

Hmm..and with all THAT being said, how would a WR corps of Walker, Moss, and Smith/Marshall look? Scary.

Moss was notorious for taking plays off in Minnesota. He only played when he felt like it might benefit him. It was maddening watching him give a half hearted effort time and time again, especially when he needed to block downfield. He's a cancer, an asshole, a huge distraction, and totally self centered.

Sorry man, but I've got to disagree.

No to Moss.
