I have to say with the recent improvement in the O-Line (especially in the passing game), Bronco's football is again fun to watch. We have somewhat consistent (and improving every game) deep passing game, and the ability to convert on 3rds with the passing game. Shanahan has been opening up the playbook more and more each game, and we no longer have only 3-4 or so plays (bootlegs + running up the gut + short passes + occasional deep) like earlier in the season (props to Cutler for making that possible).

This makes me a very happy fan on top of the possibility fo a playoff berth and maybe even a few wins. Now next year I want to see a good pass game tailored to Cutler. Perhaps some hommages to the past with 5 WR formations leading to big passes OR big running plays like in 97/98. Cutler has the arm and the talent, and we have some talented new receivers so make that formation a true threat to a defense.

Well, we certainly have a lot of work to do, but anyone that claims the offense was better off with Plummer than it is now (I make no claim to Culter's first 2 games) is wrong, and anyone who thinks the Plummer led offense this year was anything other than stroke/MA inducing is just delusional in my opinion ;-).

I totally agree. Cutler's ability to stretch the field really excites me. Give this dude a full training camp as a starter, full pre-season as a starter, and watch out! I think (and I definately don't want to jinx us here) that Cutler has the potential to be great. The way he came back from that first INT, the 99 yd drive, and the TD pass to Scheffler just confirms the point.

As for the bed-wetters, I've been ignoring them. We'll be all right.

Tons of fun to watch. Anything can happen with this team. When Elway was playing I could make a bet with a friend or roomate if Denver was down in the 4th quarter, it was free $$$. We are getting back to the time when we can watch the Broncos and know they can do anything they want.

When every time the QB dropped back there was the feeling in your gut that doom was approaching.

I agree. It is more fun to watch the games now.

LOL

No doubt it has opened up alot more and we dont have 8 in the box all the time now. Other teams will start to fear getting beat deap and the run game will return. Life is good.

Never had that feeling. I guess you can put me in the optimist camp, and than again I watched the Broncos through the sixtys so maybe I have steeled myself to disappointment a little bit. :approve: the Broncos have always been fun to watch for me.

The Broncos have always been fun to watch.

Of course they always have been thats why we do it every week but this style of play is more exciting. I mean you never know when Cutler is going to bomb one for 65 yards.

Right when I saw this thread title I thought that to myself. Heck it was even fun under Wade Phillips. A bit painful but still fun.

That's exactly what I mean. With Plummer you knew that only once every few games would there be a big passing play (and so did the defenses, so they could stack the line against the run). Plummer could do it, but Cutler has proven he can do with consistency and with far more style than Plummer. To me, the constant running up the gut (with little success) and short passing plays just aren't exciting like the now persistent possibility of a 40+ yard bomb. This type of play will eventually gonna open up the huge runs again when defenses start to respect Cutler's abilities more. See 97/98.

As long as those long passes lead to victories, they are fun to see. Won't be fun if "bombs away" ends up in losses.
