First thing that came to my mind on the botched PAT was if that was a sequel to the old North Dallas 40 movie starring Nick Nolte. In the movie the field conditions were crappy just as this game wasn't exactly great either. Anyone else think that too?Ha!

Not related to the game, but for what it is worth - North Dallas 40 was written by Pete Gent who started at WR for Dallas opposite Bob Hayes. Gent never played college football but was the Big 10 basketball leading scorer his senior year. The book was much funnier than the movie. Another book that made me laugh outloud was Semi Tough by Dan Jenkins.
