Just because there is some confusions. here are ALL the scenarios!
#1 Broncos beat San Fran = #5 seed
#2 Jets Lose Monday night or against oakland next week, broncos lose to san fran, chiefs beat jax = Denver #6 seed
#3 Chiefs lose to jax;jets lose 1 more game = Broncos #5 seed
#4 Jets win out; Denver loses to San Fran; Chiefs beat Jax = vacation

I can't see the cheaps beating jax (they look good yesterday) on the run D and QB pressure they knocked marsha around all day.

Jets play the fins and the fade (it's tough to lose those two)

KC gets J'Ville in KC. That's why they are going to win.

Guys, I'm pretty sure we don't clinch with a Jets loss. For example:
If the Jets lose tonight and win next week, the Chiefs beat Jacksonville, and we lose to San Francisco, there will be a three-way tie at 9-7 for the #5 seed. When that occurs, the division tiebreaker is used to elimimate all but the highest seed in the division. We will be eliminated because K.C. has a better divison record. The Jets will then win the two-way tiebreaker over K.C. due to a better conference record. Then we would lose the two-way tiebreaker for the #6 seed with K.C. because of our inferior division record (remember: if two teams from the same division are tied for a wild card spot, the division tiebreaker is applied).

OK, I don't want to jinx us....but I'm going to assume we beat San Fran next week, and get the #5 seed....
Now, here's what we want to happen as well.....INDY MUST WIN....if they lose, and NE wins....NE will move up to the #3 seed, Indy will move to #4, and we will will have to face Indy......bad.

Broncos should also know prior to the 49er game whether they have to win or not unless they switch the KC-Jacksonville game to Sunday night. There are only 2 late games scheduled, Sand Diego and ourselves.

Assuming we win here is how i see it:
First round
Denver v. Pats
Jets v. Colts
Second round
Denver v. Chargers
Colts v. Ravens
Championship
Denver v. Ravens
SB Winner
Denver
I am not a homer just a fantastic reader of the future that favors the Broncos in every situation.

I can see that totally happening if Miami release Jason Taylor and we pick him up off waivers.

Denver loses and KC wins I don't think that there is noway they make the playoffs unless the are no other 9-7 teams.

After carefully looking over the rules, this post is 100% right.

Yahoo! Sports seem to think that if Jets lose, we clinch ?
Think they're wrong though.

there could likely be a 4-way tie breaker with cincy as well, and guess what, Denver wins out on that one. Anyway, if Denver doesn't win against San Francisco, they don't deserve the playoffs, and a good portion of the team needs to get shot!!!

If you're saying that Denver would get in the playoffs in a four-way tie with Kansas City, New York, and Cincinnati, I don't think so.

Well, Denver is going to have to beat the 49ers come sunday now that the Jets won.
I look at it like this. If Denver beats the 49ers they will basically knock the Chefs out of the playoffs!!!
So it's like having two victories.

Denver can't get into the playoffs with a loss next week and a KC win. No way possible no matter how you slice it. 4,5,6 team scenerio KC and Denver out. 3 team Denver out KC and jets in.

They need steelers to beat cincy and NE to beat the titans as well ( i think)

This makes it more simple. From www.nfl.com
San Diego has clinched division title and first-round bye.
San Diego can clinch home-field advantage with:
1) SD win or tie, OR
2) BAL loss or tie
Denver clinches a playoff berth with:
1) DEN win or tie, OR
2) KC loss or tie
Kansas City clinches a playoff berth with:
1) KC win + CIN loss or tie + DEN loss + TEN loss or tie
I'm just concerned with GETTING IN. Bring on whomever...

If the Broncos can't beat the 49ers (on home turf, no less) then why would anyone think they'd have a chance of marching through the AFC as a wild card?
