I was kind of amazed how many times we aired it out today. At a certain point, it became obvious to me they were throwing downfield partially to give the running game more space. It worked, too, they loosened up in the second half and we were able to start pounding the ball.
I think we also ran so many reverses to capitalize on their tendency to overpursue. They're a real gambling defense in every regard. I couldn't believe how many times they tried to jump routes today. I was calling for the pump fake and go the entire second half.

Same goes for them really.
We only had 7 guys max in the box all night, which was why Rudi went off.
Good gameplan by Coyer there.
Cut's ability is sick!

It nice to see Mike Bell and Cutler in there at the same time, things just seem to click.

Our entire rookie squad seems to click. Cutler, Bell, Marshall, Sheffler have all come alive at the same time. I can't remeber seeing such a strong rookie class. Dumervil had some moments too.
This was a great win for Rocket Man, I believe you will see a quantum leap in the kid's play next week. He saw so much today. I am giddy over his potential and quick maturation.

Well Marshall was clearly a focus of the offense today. I don't think Smith got a catch, and I can only remember one ball throw to him.

Game Ball to Cutler for sure, though. Palmer is a VERY GOOD QB and even he was having problems with this weather today. In my opinion, we should have run more routes that required the CB's to change direction quickly in the snow, but we kept going deep.
It's hard to remember that this kid is a rookie, and we have lots of expectations already. We bascially threw him into the ocean to see if he could swim. He's doing much more than just treading water, that's for sure.

Scheffler has really come on strong...another TD today...that snag on the heat seeker from short range on the goal line was amazing. Even Shannon couldn't have done that any better. Jay stuck it in there with inches to spare and the dude just nabbed it like it was nothing. He makes plays deep downfield as well. Add in Marshall and a healthy Javon...all we need is the O-line and a legit runner and this is a championship caliber offense.

It really is amazing he is growing exponentially

Think of all the experience he's gaining. Not just the playoff drive, but all these bad weather games, too. I like the way he performs under less than optimum conditions.
I don't like the way that Cutler forced balls at the end of the game but he'll improve upon that. That 1 yard pass though is something not many QB's can do, he telegraphed that pass and still got away with in to Scheff. With Jake, that would have been six the other way. I love what he has shown so far though. 8 td's in four games and 4 int's. Great start.
Our rook's are really setting the stage for some great years in Denver. B-Marsh looked really good today despite some missed opportunities. He reminds me so much of TO when he was younger. He has a chance to be great. Javon just keeps doing his thing and Scheff is going to be really good.. Better than Todd Heap, hopefully on par with Antonio Gates.

TONIGHT WAS A PLAYOFF atmosphere - he did just fine and with one more week to really hone in on the routes and timing patterns, I do believe we will be visiting Foxboro and taking on the Patsies - :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

Cutler threw deep into double and triple coverage and still connected. Defenses don't have to adjust if you don't score.
Cutler blew up the Bengals defense for a couple of key first downs and several points.
Cutler didn't rattle after the Bengals put him in he grass and in fact came off a sack and made the Bengals pay.
It was beautiful watching Cutler work.

Scheffler reminds me of a young Russ Francis.

Thought his performance was very good tonight apart from the early pick and his errant throws in the 4th quarter into the wind.

I loved the way he shrugged off the interception like it was nothing. I knew that he would. You see ten year vets start a game poorly and get shook, but nothing seems to shake this kid.

The Plummer led Denver offense scored 20 points or more in consecutive weeks only once (Indianapolis and Pittsburgh weeks). In fact, those were the only 20 point outputs during an 11 week stretch.
Cutler has led the Denver offense to 20+ points in four consecutive weeks! All four starts.

I don't recall seeing a rookie shaking off picks like this in awhile. There are some highly touted veterans right now that cannot do this.
All the press about Young and Leinhart....This is going to be fun to watch.
