Sad but I feel the Bengals should have won. It was the offense earlier in the year and now its the defense losing or almost losing the game for us.
Also shouldn't Mike Bell be starting ?

I'm happy with it cause we could have EASILY won going away if Shanny and Dinger hadn't have taken the foot off the gas in the third quarter after the 99 yard drive!
Playing NOT to lose instead of playing to win is not a good formula,. Cutler was getting a rhythm and then we turn it off with a bunch of 1 yard runs on fist down and trick plays.
PLus Foster and Tater ( both of whom should be cut) alone gave them 14 points.

We earned winning this game by making the plays we needed to , to WIN it.
The Bengals lost because they didnt make the plays to win it !
I am very happy about this win & watching our new young players develop and looking forward to solidifying the positions we need to in the off season. But right now with another win we're playoff bound !! Thats pretty exciting in itself, where anything can happen.

Your point would be well taken if we had lost....
Look guy, there is an entire bengal nation that is mad and believes they should have won this game. Now would you rather be them, or us?
Tatum coughed up another TD so that kept them in this game. Sure Palmer missed on a bunch of throws but them the breaks. Thats why we had home field advantage. They win if were in Cincy, but we weren't.
We all know this team has issues. Hell, we've discussed them ad nauseum, but look we are 9-6 with one game left against the 49'ers @home. We control our own destiny, our QB is still improving, and we most likely will get to the playoffs when everyone had written us off. This team has some good character and you can't deny that. This team is battling...
You should be happy that this team didn't quit on the seaon like chucklehad suggested two weeks ago.

We earned it in the 1st round of the draft last year.
Our QB played bad ass. Our RBs got the job done, and our D created huge turnovers. Home field was irrelevant today, it was a playoff game for both teams and we just squared off with one of the better teams out there and beat 'em.

I'll take this game in return for the Seattle game we gave away. Definitely more important and it was in conference against a main rival for a playoff spot.
My revised goals for the season were just to make the playoffs. We have that in hand now with SF coming to town. The five weeks and next weeks plus the potential for a playoff game(s) with Cutler is going to be huge. THis is going to pay off big time.

Why the Broncos deserved the win:
1. The Bengals did not stop the Broncos hot and cold running attack.
2. The Bengals did not stop the Broncos rookie QB.
3. The Bengals made critical stupid mistakes.
4. The Bengals, for whatever reason, could not stop clearly obvious plays that were called all during the game.
5. The Bengals penalized themselves out of this.
Maybe the fix is in and you should stop believing that football is for real? :)
The Broncos won a hard fought game. It was a good win.

We created and capitalized on turnovers, and made a Pro Bowl QB look pretty bad out there, we deserved this win.
I am happy with the win, but the Broncos did not make Palmer look bad. He hit some really clutch throws, and the Broncos' pass rush was not a factor except on two plays: the batted pass by Warren and the sack by Dumerville. Other than that, the Cinnci O team was the best unit on that field today. Cutler did pretty well, actually, but I have some serious quesitons about Shanahan's play calling. Running the ball for 1 yard three times? Throw a three yard pass on third and 9? The D is anemic.
But WTH? They won because the Bungles blinked at the last minute and grabbed a defeat from the jaws of a tie.
SF is next, but it will be one and done, but Jay will get his playoiff experience. Foxworth collaspoed in the locker room. Okay now, but watch the bulletins.

I remember once we has a season - I think it was Brian Griese's last season at QB - where we went 10-6 and failed to make the playoffs. That year we were the only team ranked in the top ten in the four major statistical categories (rush O & D, Pass O & D) to fail to make the playoffs, but we had a stack of turnovers, and game after game we threw it away with big pays and miscues.
It was about this time that the Pats were winning superbowls despite never dominating statistically but just making plays when they had to on both sides of the field.
I had to ask myself then, were we good enough to make the playoffs, were we 'cheated'? After lengthy consideration I had to answer "no".
At the end of the day, the scoreboard doesn't lie.
So what if they had made that extra point? Then we go into extra time where more often than not the coin toss determines the outcome. Tight games swing on the tiniest things. The TD pass to Sheffler was nanometres away from being an interception (and yes it was a pass jake would never have thrown....:wiggle: ) - if its an inch either way is that luck or skill? Other passes throughout the day were off and nearly cost us.
I do sympathise with the idea that we 'lucked out', but so often you can say that about tight games. To the victor the spoils as they say, and usually history is rewritten to state that the team that won 'deserved' to do so but often it comes down to some very close calls.
Personally I am staggered, literally staggered by how well Jay Cutler is playing. A lot of fans seem to be nonchalant about this, like its neither more nor less than they expect, but we have to accept that we are truly blessed to have a rookie playing so well he gives you a chance to win every game you are in. That's the story I'm taking from today.
Now I'm going to bed becuase its gone 1am in the UK and soon my son will be waking me up wanting to open his Christmas presents.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!

of COURSE we deserved to win this game. how did the Bengals deserve to win by missing the extra point? how about all the penalties they had (cheating) in key moments of the game? dropped passes (TD passes) and multiple turnovers. no team that does that deserves to win unless they ACTUALLY WIN!
does everyone remember 3 years ago on a snowy night in Invesco/Mile High... we are playing the Colts in blizzard conditions... not as bad as the raiders game a couple years back but worse than tonight. Jason Elam, of all people, misses an extra point and the game with the Colts goes to overtime because it is tied. if we hit that extra point we win the game... but we didn't and we lost in overtime by a FG. we didn't deserve to win that game and the bengals didn't deserve to win tonite

I gotta say..i'm a little surprised by some of the remarks here...
I don't know for sure..but I would guess that jetmeck IS happy about winning...
but you guys are on stones if you think the broncos "earned" this win...
I'm elated we won...but i'm not nieve enough to overlook the fact that the Bengals had AMPLE opportunuities to win and blew it time after time after time...each time they missed on a TD pass I cheered...but I knew we got lucky each time...
guys our defense is really starting to scare me...we can't ever seem to make a stop in the clutch...it's quite sickening and you had to be thinking the same thing when they marched down the field on us late in the game for the score...a botched extra point is luck folks...i'm glad it happened..but c'mon..our defense was gassed and we're lucky we didn't have to go into OT...had cincy won the toss...do you really think we keep them from 3 points?
I'm glad we won, and i believe we'll make the playoffs...but lets keep some perspective after this win...we have issues on our defense...(we need a DT or 2)

I see the point you're trying to make, BUT with that said, at best, neither team wanted to win.
We can point out the flaws of the Broncos all night long (And chances are, we will). But the Bengals were out there too. Did they deserve to win by turning the ball over what, 5 times? Did they deserve to win by committing penalties on defense to keep our drives alive? They were offsides on the onside attempt, and hell, they found a way to screw up the easiest play in football, the PAT.
So we can say the Broncos played poorly, but really, neither of these teams deserved it. The Bengals made their share of mistakes too.

The current Denver Broncos team is not a superbowl caliber squad. If the team was that good, the quarterback change would have been made in the upcoming offseason -- Shanahan knows the stats about no rookie QB ever winning the superbowl.
Should Cincinati have won this game? God knows they blew enough opportunities. Is it the Broncos' fault that the Bengals failed to execute? Absolutely not.
What about penalties? This year, Denver has obviously put an emphasis on cutting down penalties. Perhaps if the Bengals had devoted more practice time to cleaning up their game they wouldn't have had so many game-changing plays called back due to their sloppy play.
Will the Broncos go deep into the playoffs? Not with our Defense and questionable o-line. Seriously. They're not *that* good. But, getting Cutler and the rookie nucleus some playoff time in their first year would be awesome.

3 weeks ago , we lose this game ............
That's the deal, right there.
That's why the Broncos earned this win. Instead of folding the team fought, took advantage of opportunities, used home field advantage and EARNED that win. The team showed heart, rallying around itself.
Sure, the D allowed a VERY TALENTED offense to march down the field to almost tie the game. That's right. TIE the game. The Broncos led for most of the contest. What a testament to a team that had to change horses midstream. What a testament to a kid fresh off the draft and off the bench to bring a struggling team back to the threshold of the playoffs.
I'm really proud of what this team accomplished today. Damn proud.
Earned it? Hell yes.

Folks, from a non-partisan viewpoint, both teams played well at times and poorly at times. Turnovers are always costly. In the end, you guys stayed in the game...and yes you deserved it. Even though I was rooting against you for obvious reasons. Congrats....its a good win and you deserved it.
A Merry Christmas to ALL Denver fans!

We created and capitalized on turnovers, and made a Pro Bowl QB look pretty bad out there, we deserved this win.
Good to see you're back! Have a Blessed Solstice, my friend!!!!!

"We?"
I think the team earned a hard fought win against a strong team in tough conditions.
I think you sat on your couch and whined because we're not 15-0 right now.
Kinda like you and Taco when Jake was starting and the team was winning, but Jake was starting so you and Taco whined all year long.
Funny how much of a douche you really are sometimes.
