With no melo, jr smith, and camby he could have a historical game. I would imagine that the nuggets are gonna let him do whatever he wants today since he doesnt know the plays.

Lets get the predictions, I say 56

His already in Denver driving to the Pepsi Center. Miller passed the physical so AI just has to pass his real quick. Plus, I heard the Kings are having trouble getting to Denver so the game might be pushed back.

Kings landed in the Springs, there was an accident at Surrey Ridge backed up all the way to Tomah Road. Traffic was a bitch on I-25 today between the Springs and Denver.

Don't expect alot, he missed PRACTICE MAN...PRACTICE!

"Haymaker" Melo had some pretty sad eyes today...he's kinda embarrased. It wasn't a killer hit tho. I saw some hockey player just lay a guy out on a blind side and it's business as usual.

Ironic that the comish is named Stern.

Just let "The answer" freelance tonight with both Camby and Melo out. He might be fatigued with all the swirl around him but you won't find a tougher little big man in the NBA. I only wish he was 25. He's got alot of miles left tho.

Meck77

well as terrible as we shot we're still in the game. At this point of the game the nuggets would be giving the ball to melo 6-10 straight times to get going. Lets see if they do the same thing with AI.

Also, Diawara needs to stop shooting. Kleiza, AI, nene, and Boykins(at a slower rate) should be the only ones taking shots.

Just to add a little to that, all of that garbage is staged. Doesnt that make you feel like an absolute goober to know that you are entertained by some producer's (Vince McMahon?) predesigned show about sweaty shirtless guys in speedos bouncing each other around on a square mat? Not only that, but the ultimate goal is to "pin" the other guy prone in a defenseless position.

That's not very hetero. It's like theater for guys who like other guys.

Nuggets are gonna lose this one, they're just way too shorthanded. That's gonna be the story a lot of nights until they start getting guys back in the lineup.

I was off by 5 points...3 assists....you didn't list the rebounds....and 3 beers..

Nugs are going to win it all I feel it...

It was 1997 when my AZ cats and the Broncos took it down. There were naked people up and down 4th ave in Tucson that night. Later that year Elway grabbed his ring. That was awesome. The nugs are in position and the Broncos have time to grow. It could happen again.:afro:

2 rebounds for Iverson tonight.

His performance is all the more impressive considering that he spent four hours on a plane, then an hour & forty five minutes in a car and got to the arena only an hour & fifteen minutes before tipoff. Not to mention that he was stuck playing with basically the Nuggets B team, none of whom he's ever played alongside before.

This team is gonna be allright once they actually get to play together.

Possibly. They'll also have Kenyon Martin back by then. What he'll be able to bring to the table is anyone's guess, but it'd be nice to have a full crew for a change.

You know the Nuggets are doomed on a night when they not only have to start Earl Boykins, but play him 43 minutes. :unamused:

This team could be as fun to watch as those Doug Moe coached English/Fat Lever teams in the 80's.

Man, they mightve lost, but that was a real fun game. Just imagine what this team can be with melo, JR, Camby, and maybe AI can light a fire under Kenyon's ass next year and get him to play ball. This is gonna be a real fun team to watch for the next at least year and a half.

Seriously its like Earl the Hurl was threatened by AI. Can't he see that he isn't the future. AI definately was lagging at the end his arms were like rubber. Man he makes plays though.

Too bad Boykins wasn't included in the trade.

JR Smith is gonna benefit immensely from Iverson. It was amazing the number of open threes he created for his teammates when he had the ball in his hands tonight. With Carmelo & Iverson drawing double teams, JR is gonna get plenty of open looks.

That was a really fun game to watch. We lost, but missing Camby and Melo has got to hurt. I felt like we couldn't penetrate their zone we we had to in the fourth quarter and they basically forced us to beat them with shooting which seemed to work since no one could last night. I just can't wait to get everyone back together to see what they can do. It's going to be fun!!Booya!

Can Denver actually afford to keep all those players next year???

Iverson $19m
Anthony $12.5m
Martin $13.25m
Camby $9m
Smith $2m
Nene $8.85m
Boykins $3m
Najera $5m
Evans $4.3m
Kleiza $1m
Diawara 700k

That's about $78.5m tied up in 11 players. How will that fit with the cap???

The NBA has a soft cap, unlike the NFL and NHL, so they don't need to fit with a cap. They'll need to pay tax, and looks like Kroenke has decided to do it. And that's great for us fans, it would be a shame if we couldn't land AI because we have an owner who wasn't willing to pay the tax.

On the other hand, you can expect ticket prices to go up a lot next season...

Wow.

Just wow.

Numerous times during the game, Iverson would hit players with passes that would catch them so off-guard it would hit them in the face. Hastings' comparison to Larry Bird was right on in that regard. Once AI's teammates get used to expecting the unexpected, this is going to be amazing.

Orange_Beard

New parts of AI's game are going to develop. In Philly he had to score, here he is going to pass and play solid D.

Iverson can lead the league in assists with the right teammates. All that ballhog bs spouted by the less informed had more to do with playing with one of the worst supporting casts for a superstar in recent NBA history than anything else.

I still stand by my prediction: Iverson will average 12 assists per game.

That's what Kroenke has done since he purchased the Avs, Nuggets & Pepsi Center. Shortly after he acquired them, the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup. He then handed out $114 million worth of contracts to keep the Avs core in tact that summer. It was obvious very early on that he was willing to spend money to win.

It's not too surprising that he'd go all out on the Nuggets considering what a big hoops fan he is. He's got a Super Bowl ring from his stake in the St. Louis Rams in 1999 and a Stanley Cup ring from the Avalanche, but there's nothing he wants more than an NBA championship. His moves may work out, they may not, but he's earned a lot of respect from the fans here simply because he's willing to take a shot.

He's the anti-Monforts.

Did you see tonight's game against the Celtics? The ball is passed with a little more zip, the lanes got stuffed and the defense stopped sleep walking.
