The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That, IMHO, is about the only way that libertarians and liberals can work together. As soon as the Dems get control back, the alliance will fade. The very corp values of libertarianism clash mightly with the very corp values of liberalism. It would be like a pot smoking, easy going, live and let live guy dating a bossy, I know whats best for you bitch. It might work on the rebound for a while but they wont go down the aisle together.

I know I more or less have to live w/ liberalism now meaning socialism, but it stings everytime I hear it:(.

I really think we need to take back the ownership of what words mean.

I don't think "liberal" is a good term to define one who follows a more socialist path. Same with a "conservative" isn't a good word for one who follows an isolationsist/waspy POV.

But hey, as long as the sex is great, right?

Can liberals and libertarians work together?

The short answer is yes, but you have to define your terms carefully.

If you mean "liberals" like the original American liberals, Thomas Jefferson & George Washington, yes.

If you mean "liberals" as in socialists or communists, no.
