It's snowing, we are very slow at work, so I thought it would be a great idea to hear everyones take on their first time @ mile high.

December 30th 1984, 40 yard Line, seats 12-16. My dad's best friend had season tickets and finally decided my brother and I could go with them. I remember pulling up to the stadium and thinking i was in heaven. We went inside to our seats, and i remember everyone being friendly, and excited. During the game there was an old man sitting next to me, he kept screaming and cussing Mark Malone, I just starred at him, finally he leaned over to me and said, If your going to be a bronco fan, then you need to learn how to scream and cuss. He finally got me yelling and at one point got malone to look up and I gave him the finger( I was 9 years old), the whole section loved it, my dad however was not happy, but he never told mom. Anyway, that day I knew i would love this team forever. I have to say besides my wife and kids, those days at the stadium are the greatest, times I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Opening day this year in St. Louis. The father in law had 50 yd line seats in the reserved area. Incredible seats for an ugly sight. Before the game started I got to see the guys in the tunnel. I yelled "Go Broncos" and Kircus started pumping his fists like mad. After the game I got to go down to the Denver locker room and was able to meet and talk to all the players. I was in awe!

Hey Disco, you and I share something rare but pretty cool. My first live Broncos game, was a 1980 preseason game against the Giants, at the Meadowlands.

The Broncos wore Orange too, and it looked freakin great against the green astroturf.

The only Broncos TD of the game was a Norris Weese pass to Emery Moorehead, who went on to start for the '85 Bears.

Weese didn't survive camp 1980 either. Matt Robinson did. Ugh!!!!

A preseason game against the 49ers in 2002. Sat up in the broncos logo. Was madden's first monday night game. I loved every minute of it. We left right after drill on sunday afternoon and drove strait through. But seen three and gonna go next year for sure.

Never got to go when we lived in CO in the early to mid 70's. Parents could not afford it.

1981 vs Duh Bears in Soldier Field was my 1st Pro Football game ever! Steve Deberg was the QB & Bears ran roughshod over Denver who had a chance to go to playoffs but choked it away late in the year. A year much like this one if memory serves... I think Morton started but Deberg replaced him in mid season.

I saw John play in Soldiers field at least twice in his career.

Anyway my 1st Mile High Game was in 1995 vs Cards. Elway had a nice long TD to Anthony Miller which I called to my brother as it developed. I took him as I knew John only had a few years left & I wanted to see him play at home before he retired. I have gone to one game every year since. I have taken my Brother, my Dad, my Girlfriend, My fiancee, My Wife (all were same chick), & my Daughter. Good times, even the losses.

I had to have been around 12 years old, so that would make it 1987, it was a preseason game, Broncos vs. Patriots, just got done winning a wrestling tournament and my reward from my uncle was the two tickets to the game, I will never forget it, as I just wore my wrestling gear and warm ups to the game and ruined my wrestling shoes because there was snow and water everywhere. Needless to say, I froze my ass off!

My first live game was on "Orange Monday", the first ever Denver appearance on Monday Night Football on October 22, 1973 when the Broncos and Raiders tied 23-23. I was 14 and my dad had seats on the 40 yard line about 30 rows up. Mile High was rockin' and even with only 50,000 capacity at the time, you could barely hear yourself if you screamed at the top of your lungs.

I remember the tickets were $6.60 a piece or something like that. ROFL!

2 years ago against the Bucs in Tampa. It was a defensive struggle, but we ended up winning the game. It was week 4 I think, we were 2-1 going into the game. It was the return of John Lynch to Tampa, so they introduced the Denver defense and the stadium booed all the Bronco players except Lynch, of course. The Tampa fans went crazy when he came out of the tunnel.

I'll never forget that game, it was a great experience. I hope I'll go to a game in Denver someday. :)

Here's a pic from the game:

I've seen the Broncos live a good 15 times, but only once in Denver.

I'd say that most, if not every year, they make a trip into your region. I'm sure there are some years where they make multiple trips.

I think they play the NFC North next year, but the year after they play the NFC East, so that will be 1-2 games pretty close to you. And they normally play an AFC team or two out that way.

Having been born & raised in South FL, I saw a few preseason games between the Broncos and Dolphins in the 80's and 90's, but my first trip to Mile High was for a Monday night affair versus the Raiders in 1993. Denver lost, but it was a great experience.

Since that time, I have seen them play in Atlanta in 1997, 1998 in Miami, 2003 at Green Bay, 2005 in Jax, and 2006 versus the Pats at new Mile High (playoff game). For obvious reasons, the latter was my favorite!

Go Broncos!!

The first game I saw was when the Broncos played the Chiefs in 1991 on a Monday Night. I sat in the South Stands. The Chiefs were behind in the game until the 4th quarter when they tied the scored 16-16.

Elway may a big play downfield to get the Broncos in field goal range with less than 2 minutes in the game. David Treadwell kicked the winning FG, Broncos win 19-16. I'll never forget the sound of the roaring crowd the first time I went to Mile High Stadium, it was unreal, and it sent shivers up my spine.

After 91 I attended many games at the Old Mile High. I went to the Raiders game in Denver almost every year all through the 90's.

The last game I saw in Denver was in 98 when the Broncos dismantled the Cowboys. Aikman got knocked out of the game and Davis ran wild on Cowboys D that day in route to their 2nd Championship.

I saw the Broncos play the 49ers in San Fran in 2003. Griese played one of his best games as a Pro that day. Garcia and Owens were still on the 9ers then.

The very last live game I saw was the HOF Game in 2004 for Elway’s induction.

I still haven't been to a game at Invesco yet. I hope to go to the Raiders game next year with my Brother.

I can't imagine that Invesco has the same feel as the Old Mile High, I've been to many other games at other stadiums, baseball and football around the U.S. and nothing matched the crowd noise of the Old Mile High.

First game...John Elway...come from behind against the Vikes in 96...throws it up and it bobbles around 4-5 times and Eddie Mac comes down with it in the endzone and the BRONCOS win the game! ;D

First game in Denver....never got to see MILE HIGH...but first game at Invesco...September 2004 against the Chargers...since then @New Orleans
(2004), KC at Denver MNF (2005) , Denver @ Chargers (2005), KC at Denver (2006), Denver @ Cleveland (2006) and Denver @ Chargers (2006)....(The ONLY LOSS I have witnessed in person!)

1960 against the Oakland Raiders, we routed them. North endzone season tickets at Bears Stadium and Frank Tripucka was our QB, Al Carmichael was our main RB and Lionel Taylor caught 90 balls for 1200 yards and 12 TDs that year.

Our kicker was Gene Mingo who I think was the first black kicker.

Went a few times in the 80s. Started going to all home games the 92 season. Always bought tickets outside the stadium, every single home game. Only time I had to pay more than face value was a Monday night game against the Raiders and that was because we needed 3 seats together.

Did that until the Jacksonville playoff loss debacle (97?), after which I sent in my postcard to be put in the season ticket waiting list. A couple months later, the Broncos called, and I had my season tickets! Until this season I've been to just about every home game, 2 superbowls (went without tickets both times & got in, both times), and the AFC Divisional Playoff game in Kansas City.

This year I got an HDTV and ummm haven't been to a game yet.

My next Bronco game was 15 years or so later in Oakland. Actually my next four Bronco games were all in Oakland and then I saw them in SF that year we started the season against St Louis and SF...the Greise One's last year.

THen I saw them in preseason against Houston, then the New Orleans games a couple of years ago, then another preseason game against Houston.

It was the 1989 AFC Championship game against the Brownies. (The non-famous Browns-Broncs championship game) Beautiful day around 50 degrees. Bobby Humphrey goes down in the 1st half, Winder comes in and scores a couple. Michael Young catches a bomb from John. Also, I remember the crowd chanting Bernie...Bernie...Bernie....everytime Kosar took a snap. Oh yeah, it was great seeing the few brave Browns fans dressed in Dawg Pound gear dissapear by half time!

My first ever game was Dec 4, 1983. I was in church on Sunday morning and someone said "anyone want to go to the Broncos game today, I've got two tickets". I snatched them right up and called my then girlfriend (now wife) and off we went. Denver dismantled Cleveland 27-6. I don't really recall much of the specifics of the game. We sat about 10 rows behind the north endzone directly behind the goal posts.

I think my most memorable games were the '92 KC @ Den game where Elway threw two TD passes after the two minute warning to win the game and the amazing comeback in the '91 Divisional Playoffs against the Oilers. But... there have been so many.

I was the only one who had a driver's license, and I thought I was pretty darn cool. This was one of the best games in Broncos history, I saw it on TV.

I don't remember my first Broncos game EVER, but my first game in DENVER came October 9, 2005. We played the Washington Redskins and it was a shivering cold rain the whole night. I felt it for days afterwards, but I wasn't going to miss Atwater being inducted into the Ring of Fame.

First Broncos game at Denver was Dec 23rd 1994 versus the Saints. We were going for an 8 and 8 record after starting the season 0 and 4. Got there during the 1st quarter and picked up a ticket in the parking lot cheap. We lost but that was the beginning of flying out for games. I signed up for season tickets earlier that year and was surprised when I got a call around June or July that my number came up. Thank you all those "fans" that jumped off the Broncos bandwagon and put their money behind the Rockies and Avs. I owe you nothing!

I have been to two bone chillers...the Green Bay and one other...There was another wet one I suffered thru. If I drove to Denver the Oakland disaster would of been the third.

Brr...getting soaked to the bones is the worst. I just threw a towel over my shoulders.

The first game I saw live, was in 1994 the NFL's 75th anniversary game against the Raiders and Denver wore their throwback jerseys. One of my husband's friends had a box, I hung out the window the whole time in complete awe. When we drove up to the stadium and walked up to our seats and I seen the field for the first time I cried, I think I cried through the whole game, it was a dream come true to finally be there after being a fan since 1975. Denver lost, but it was still one of the highlights of my life.

Actually mine is pretty wild, everyone is afraid of her, she only loves my husband and I. That is her favorite blanket to sleep on, she is a Bronco cat. :)

Hey all -- I normally just lurk here but this is a cool thread so I'll chip in:

First "game" was a preseason scrimmage in 1981. I was seven, we did the whole autograph thing afterwards. I got Gradishar to sign my Broncos t-shirt. I think I also got Rick Upchurch and Steve DeBerg to sign, but Gradishar was the only one I cared about.

First real game wasn't until the 1996 season-opener against the Jets. We sure looked like we were primed to win it all after that one.

I don't remember the year, but it must have been late 80s. Some of you might be able to place it because it was the year the guy vowed to stay up on the billboard until the Broncos won, and they didn't have a very good year. He was up there for awhile, if I remember right. I was a young buck and got to go to a pre-season game against the 49ers. Elway and Montana in one shot.

We had front row seats right behind the Broncos bench. They were listed as 3rd row I think, but there was something about the dugout for a baseball field and there wasn't anyone in front of us. There was an old Broncos fan sitting next to us and he gave us a running commentary of who everyone was on the bench. I'll never forget when he leaned in close like he was telling me a secret, and his voice changed a little. He said, "That's the one you want to watch, #7". I don't know if I took my eyes off him the rest of the night.

I've been a die hard Broncos fan since that day.

Sitting in line with the 50 during 1999's very popular preseason game Vs. Chargers @ Sydney's Telstra Stadium.

That's the only time, yet.

My first game was in 97 against an NFC team in a dome - the falcons. We entered the playoffs as the number 4 seed wild card that year. You know what happened from there.

My second game was this year against an NFC team in a dome - the Rams. As Gump would say "that's all I have to say about that".

I believe that was 1990. I lived in CO Springs that year and remember it being on the news.

First game: 1985, vs. Chiefs at Mile High. Sat in the south stands with my Dad and my brother. It was COLD! The Broncos won 14-13 (I think) on a Sammy Winder TD with under a minute to play. One of John Elways 40+ 4th quarter comebacks and a joy to behold. For an 8 year old kid, the south stands were a little intimidating though...lol

Most recent game: The last one at the old Mile High vs. the 49ers. Haven't been to the new stadium but I'm going to next year with my 5 year old son to give him a taste of the joy I experienced watching the Broncos and John Elway as a rookie when I was 5.

OT...but I was witness to Ryan Leaf's best game ever. He put 300+ yards and 3 TD's on us but Gus Frerotte and Eddie Mac caught fire at the end of the game and pulled out the win. Poor Ryan...

December 21, 1997 - Denver 38, San Diego 3, My only trip to Mile High sat about 6 rows from the top at about the 20 yd line. Great game even though TD didn't play, Elway threw 2 TD's to Rod, 1 to Eddie Mac and a 60-70 yd TD to Sharpe to open the second half. It was awesome to finally get to see them play in person.

Freezing cold day . The game that sent us to the Playoffs to go to our first Super Bowl. The fans tore down the Goalposts and started to walk up Route 1. They walked into a high tension wire carrying the goalposts and got electrocuted and were badly burned. The crazy old days for the Patriots.

American Bowl in London watched the Broncos play the Rams. Denver practice in Hyde park and thought that Orson Mobley, would dominate the league because he was such a monster in size compare to everyone else.

Got that poster framed in my loft. I think it is Elway and Dickerson. Fun game for Europe.

I believe it was September 6, 1981. The season opener against the Raiders at Mile High. I was just a kid. My dad was the manager of Pepsi in Cheyenne and the company had aquired a pair of season tickets. My dad said we could go to a game but I didn't believe him until I saw the tickets. It was like going to Valhalla. I thought I was the luckiest kid in the world.

I went to a few games in the early 70's, but my most memorable early game was in 76 or 77. I was playing basketball the night before and ended up tearing ligaments in my ankle. Didn't want to miss the Bronco game so I refused to go to the emergency room till the next morning. Told ER docs I was not going to miss the game. They laughed and got me out in time to get to the game, but had to park way over by where the Colfax viaduct is now and crutch it over to the old wooden East stands where I got to see Upchurch run back two against Cleveland.

I'm from Long Island, so the first chance I got to see Denver live was when I went to the Season Opener in 1993 at the Meadowlands to see Denver play the Jets........Denver won 26-20.......Elway and Glyn Milburn hooked up on a long TD pass......Also, at the beginning of the game, the Jets announced Dennis Byrd's name and he walked to midfield with his family......It was the first appearance by him at the Meadowlands since he broke his neck.......it was a cool moment..........
