Hell yes.

but I want them to make run at Marion Barber first. He is tough, fast and effective. And he played our system in college. I cannot figure out why Dallas is even thinking about Julius Jones over him. He is averaging like 5.2 yds per carry -- and that includes all the redzone carries he gets.

he wont be cheap, neither will barber, and it will be fixing a problem that for the most part doesn't exist.

I liked him coming out of college, but I not willing to pay him a big contract or the draft choices to secure him. Plus I really do think that next year Mike Bell will be much better then this year and give Denver the RB they need.

Turner would be a great choice, if we get him next year. Personally, though I would love to get a RB in the first couple rounds of next year's draft, because their a dime a dozen in the NFL.

u want to spend a high round pick on a running back because they're a dime a dozen?

He was one of the RBs that year in the draft that I wanted. Tatum was first and then Turner/Moore.

I'd be interested only if he's offered the third round tender...no first round picks for an unproven backup.

You beat me to it, blood. Marion Barber is a stud in the making. He runs very hard, can make the cutback, and is very fast through the second level. He would be an upgrade for us.

So in free agency, are we going to spend the money on Barber or Turner and hopefully a DE/DT?

Just your first and third rounder since he is a RFA

Id take that

Maybe they give him just the first round tender....ill take that as well. Id rather keep him but im sure he ill draw a lot of interest.

Is Barber a FA?

Damn, either one of those guys would be great, for different reasons.

Did you see Barber just plowing over defenders at the end of that game? Unreal.

To tell you the truth, if Tuna comes back for another year, I don't think there's any way he lets' that guy go. He's his type of runner, and Jones isn't.

I still think Nash has all the tools to be our feature back.

But, Watts had skills, and look where he is.

Nash had a rep as being a punk, and I'm not so sure it's not deserved. Too bad, because he's the perfect mix of speed and power, and has excellent vision.

Just another dude not living up to his potential.

Agreed, and you won't find a better bargain either. Leaves money for D-lne help

Turner and Tatum were my 2 favorite RB in the draft that year. I wouldn't give up the picks to get him though.

Too bad it looks like Dallas is getting a clue.

The Cowboys deny that they considered trading starting tailback Julius Jones around draft time in the spring. But with the emergence of backup Marion Barber III, who runs a lot tougher inside, Dallas might be tempted to dangle Jones after the season to gauge what he might net in a trade.

I would make some serious trade considerations for this guy. A second rounder plus a guy like Bell? He's a first round talent and proven.

With regard to Mike Bell...did anyone see him juke Antrell Rolle out of his jockstrap when Rolle had to trip him? This dude has the moves...the only thing I question about him is speed. He's a much better fit for our system and is a very tough runner with good moves in tight spaces. Tatum on the other hand needs that big hole and can explode past the second level and into the secondary.

I don't believe he is a FA, it would have to be via trade. At this point you are right though, his stock is way too high.

Too bad we didn't throw a filer out there last off season -- what a coup Cutler, Walker and Barber would have been in one off season!

If Dallas lets Barber go, Parcells won't be the coach anymore...I'd take Barber over Jones, hands down.

Turner would be cash money here in Denver. The only question is whether he would be affordable enough. He's a damn sight better, all around, than what we have now.

Alternatively, we infuse Mike Bell's first 3-4 yards of running into Tatum and fix the problem that way. Damn Tatum pisses me off when he jump steps into the hole and sits there until he gets hit, but I like it when he gets around the corner.

I like Barber. He pounds out some tough yards, but keep in mind, he's running on fresh legs, too. He only has 122 carries through 14 games. He can expect that many touches in five or six games as a full time starter.

He's a nice back, but I don't think he's special.
