The time is almost here for you to get your Broncos license plate. I was just at the teams website and was pleasantly surprised to see them becoming available in the new year.
Anyone going to be getting one? A minimum $30 donation to Broncos charity gets you a certificate to have the DMV issue you a plate.

I might do that.
There was something in the paper a few months ago about all of those special plates. The organization behind them has to fund the changes and at that time only one had been profitable. I suspect this will be the second.

I got on the list quite a while back. Can't wait to put it o the wife's car. The RV has "old timer" plates and the truck has "Vet plates", so everything will either have "orange or blue"

Here's my question: I just paid the registration on my car in October and got my 07 sticker. Does anyone have a clue what additional fees (other than the $30 donation and $25 fund fee) there would be? Or will there be none since I just re-registered the car. OR do I have to wait until next October to get the plates when my registration is due again?
EDIT TO ADD:
If I'd just read over the FAQ on the Bronco's website, I wouldn't have posted what's above. But, in case anyone else has the same question:
Q: My current vehicle registration doesn't expire until June 2007, do I have to wait until then to get my Denver Broncos license plates?
A: No, you can take you certificate of approval to your Colorado County Motor Vehicle office anytime after Jan. 1, 2007. The DMV will issue a credit for any unused months left on your registration. Ex: If your vehilce registration expires in June 2007 but you renew in January 2007, you will receive six (6) months credit for the months that were unused. Your new registration cycle will be January 2007 - January 2008. However, you are welcome to wait until your current registration is expired before you switch over to the Denver Broncos license plates.
BTW, is California offering San Diego Chargers plates?

One more thing: On the bottom of the Plate Application Form, there is a field to write in "How Did You Find Out About The New Denver Broncos License Plates". I'm filling in: www.orangemane.com
Thanks, Taco.
Thanks, chawknz.

Cali only offers usc and ucla that i have seen. Dont really care about NoCal. Chargers license plates would have certain rules.
1) Registration is on a game to game situation or take a chance and go for the month to month plan.
2) Registers must have an alternate team plate as it would be almost certain the plates would be returned to the DMV within months or a few years.
3) Plates come with special license plate tape to cover up the words "San Diego Chargers" when driver feels disgusted at thier play. It can be used up to 32 times w/o losing its sticker glue. Cost is $15. Add $45 to receive up to 20 other name plates of teams from the NFL.
4) All plates would say "Welcome to Mile High West" under the Chargers name.

Just got back from my local DMV. The office is in a strip mall about 4-tenths of a mile from the house! They said they don't expect the plates EXACTLY on Jan.1, but to call to make sure they have them before I come. But they WILL have them!
I'm stoked!

Has anyone sent in their donation money and recieved the certificate yet? If so, how long was the turn-around time (i.e. how long between the time you sent your donation and the time you got the certificate)?

Done and done. I can't wait. My wife can keep her pioneer plates. This is very cool. I remember when they first brought this idea up. There was some opposition group that didn't want the state involved in supporting private organizations like the Broncos. I really don't know where some people are coming from. It's like people who want to outlaw Christmas trees, or something. What will they oppose next, dog ownership?

I would like to get a personalized plate, but I don't want to lose the team's logo by doing so. :(
I just hope my random plate doesn't end up like: LUV OAK

Just got back from the mailbox (sidewalk was finally shoveled!) and no certificate from Broncos Charities.
Has anyone received theirs yet? I thought they were due out the "last week of December." Well, you can't get much later in the month than the 31st.
