Three things:
1. Trolls with insulting smart mouths and no ral Football takes;
2, Posters with continuous, unbending "know it all" attitudes that belie any fun in discussing the team or the games;
3. Family and other interests take higher a priority.
In short, there are too many sexual intellectuals* around.

The problem is, most guys keep quoting the trolls to reply instead of using the other button or the Quick reply option. After a while, it doesn't make any difference anymore, and it is no longer fun. I doubt these posters would be found on other boards, either.
Without sugar-coating it, the Broncos and football get boring after some several years of this stuff. Some people grab a life while it is still there to be had.......

Most of those posters have been here for years and none of them has less than 4,000 posts. Unlike you they are all Bronco fans that enjoyed talking Broncos football.

Well the reason why i post at http://www.thesouthstands.com more for football than the OM - is i can actually get into a more or less 'real' discussion withsomeone. It's so hard to keep up with 6billion duplicate threads that all have the same converstation with different players.
Then of course comes the eventual friction added when people don't realize there's a difference of opinion...always - and really - basically - what any complaint anyone has about the WRP forum - is exactly the same "up here" - just change "your political party" to "your football team" - throw in some STFU's & some "you are the dumbest ever" - and it's about the same - magnify by the # of participating posters who return what they recieve - and viola - that's why i think some posters left or is a current beef with the OM.

There has been quite a bit of turnover. Many of us knew each other from the old DPO board. Then it got moderated and we couldn't cuss at each other any more and came here. It's interesting how it has evolved. I dropped in on the DPO board, Broncomania or whatever it is and saw a thread about other boards. The Mane was described as a bit "rougher-edged" or something like that. And that's what it is. This is where the aggressive posters are.

I would bet it is simply the OM showing its age. Happens to every long term endevour, online or off. Life priorities and interests change and people get tied up with other things or simply drift away. It could also have to do with the growth of the board. More people talking about the same number of things mean less chances per person to add to, and forward, the discussion. But then you might be onto something with the know-it-alls. Hope I am not one of them. hmmm...
It is a shame though, while I have only been here a relatively short time, I have read some posts from some of the individuals you mentioned and have been impressed. Losing original thinkers is always tough.

For several of the names there has been some falling out due to events on the board, and regarding some others they didn't like how the board got so big and lost it's small group appeal, while others had some personal developments occur that no longer allow them to post as much. In a lot of people's opinion, especially those that have been here a while, the board has started to turn into what the team forum is, and for a lot of people that's not a good thing. At least that's what I've noticed from talking to a lot of the people mentioned above.
I think TJ has realized that, and he tried to counteract it by suggesting the pay forum area, but due to his own personal obligations and not enough support the idea didn't go through.

I know that I am not anywhere near the people on that list, but I know that I have not been posting much recently because I just got married and now have finals this week, but also because I got tired of watching every thread continually turn into Plummer vs. Cutler regardless of what the opening topic may have been. Just my two cents.

I don't have the post counts of all those people (need to get on the survivor thread) but I've been on the board for a bit, and lurked longer. There are so many new people and good solid takes are usully found on the the third page because some chucklehead just had to start a new thread because their opinion was so much more important that we all have to stop what were doing and read it. It's just easier to lurk and disagree or agree in your head. Also, I tend to stay away for a couple of days after bad losses, because reading everyone's negativity seems to amplify my own grumpiness.

Screw you, you stupid troll. I appreciate fans from other teams that have good takes, but every one of your posts is a flame and you add nothing good to the football discussion. **** off.
Oh, and Charger fans CAN NOT accuse anyone else of being fair weather fans. When the Chargers have had par or below par seasons the past 30 years (and that's what, 85% of the time?) the fans that show up at the Murph are at least 50% from the other team. Especially if that team is the Broncs.
Denver has 30+ straight years of selling out Mile High. The Chargers can't even sell out their stadium for wild card playoffs games. SD fans calling anyone else Fairweather fans is laughable.

Virtually everyone on that list either still posts or is posting at the same rate they always have. At least half of them have posted in the last week. I think the hysteria of this thread suggesting the members are vanishing is imagined and we get new members every day.
Some people will move on, but just because they don't post, doesn't mean they aren't here.

If you want to prove it to yourself go to User CP then click Members than posts. You will see the one's I listed have there last post going back in most cases atleast 10 days or so. Another way to verify what i am saying is to click on 'read posts by so and so' and you will see a drop off on the ones I listed. If you want to prove it to yourself go to User CP then click Members than posts. You will see the one's I listed have there last post going back in most cases atleast 10 days or so. Another way to verify what i am saying is to click on 'read posts by so and so' and you will see a drop off on the ones I listed. If you need to believe there has not been a significant drop off of the folks i listed that that's OK with me but in most cases the proof is there (I did not check them all)
Fine. I'll prove it now.

I've never been one to dwell too much on the past, when the current moment is all you really have. So rather than lamenting what is missing, I'll drink a loaded eggnog to them (which I just poisoned with Chivas Royal 18) and make note of the folks who I have been enjoying lately...
I know I'm not going to cover them all, but here are a few...
Popps - People see our back and forth on the board, and might get the mistaken idea that we hate eachother, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I think we both do it because we actually enjoy the debate. Yeah, we needle eachother now and again, but we both know that we've got way too much in common to be enemies. He's passionate and has some great takes in between the daily football lessons that I give him every day. ;)
SoCal - I love reading SoCal's breakdowns each week. The coaches don't always do it like SoCal draws it up, but he gives plenty of food for thought going into the game. I especially like getting his take on college football players even if you have to run some of it through a UM homer filter. I'm never going to let him live down how horribly he missed on Leinart.
Kaylore - Watching Kaylore transition this season from being a solid supporter of Jake, to finally admitting the inevitable has been one of the most enjoyable things I've witnessed during the 10 or so years that I've been posting on Broncos forums. He tried to stay on that wagon, but the road got way too bumpy, and eventually he fell off the cart. His preseason camp reports, once again, proved to be worth their weight in gold. That was a very well balanced preview of our season.
Orange 4 Life - Love this guy. As passionate a Broncos fan as I've ever met, even if he has a tendancy to hold on to the steering column a little too long while everybody else is grabbing parachutes. Hey, you need someone to drive the plane into the mountain, right?
-Slap- Here we have the Bill Romanowski of message board culture in that he's a guy you absolutely love if he's on your side of the debate, but if he's not, you'd better come in wearing a cup. Slap is like Alec, in that he hates stupidity, with a key difference: it's not ironic. Slap has forgotten more sports than I've ever known, and I like getting his perspective on just about anything sports related.
ApaOps05 - I have no idea what the deal is with his username, but I've enjoyed his takes this season. An August 06 entry, he gets my vote for rookie of the year. Solid takes and generally respectful of those he might find disagreement with.
Clockwork Orange - Razor sharp with and a great working knowledge of sports to go with it. Whenever a player is in the news for something notorious, I find myself continuously clicking on the thread to see what barb CO is going to split my side with. Great poster with a great perspective on Broncos football.
BroncoBuff - Smart. Inquisitive. Always asking questions. I like Buff because he is always raising issues that are below the surface and trying to dig deeper in any situation.
Crushaholic - I met Crush at a tailgater, and have admired the guys dedication to the Broncos ever since. We don't see eye to eye on every issue, but Crush is always giving his take with a good amount of respect for the people he's making his points to. A good cat all around.
DomCasual - Another poster who splits my sides. This guy MUST be posting with a joke book for every occassion sitting on his desktop, because he's got one for everything.
BroncoSteven - This guy has a great eye for what's happening on the field, and always has a possible solution to fix the problems. When it comes to evaluating talent, I usually take a second look at what Steven is saying about a player, and find that he's usually pretty spot on.
Man there are so more... Garcia... OrangeBeard... Atlas... Dipso... AnthonyPacino... Fontaine... BroncoInferno... Arkansas Bronco... Mtbroncofan... Shack... Herc... Pendejo... bloodsunday... Elsid13... Rascal... Hotrod... Spider... TheDave... BMF... Sassy... Stormontheplains... smalltowngirl... MiniBronco... Blueflame... many many more...

(sorry) I just wanted to point out that while some folks may have trailed off, we've got a lot of great posters including a lot of new usernames here making a name for themselves.

Good grief, why? I'm glad someone enjoyed it because I hated it. What Jake did this season made for one of the most frustrating experiences for me watching football. I still can't believe someone would drop off like that. The seeds were sewn in training camp, then the preseason games got me kind of upset, but I really got upset with Rams game. I think the first Oakland game was the one that sent me over the edge. I had had it at that point.
I knew that Jay starting was inevitable when we drafted him, but had Jake played anywhere near like he did last year I'd be for keeping him in. Jake played his way out of the spot and that's probably the best way to do it...even if he played his way out of it a month ago, but you waited anyway. :~ohyah!:

Good grief, why?
Because I knew it was going to happen... The signs were all there. You wanted to resist so badly, but each week it just kept getting worse and worse. It was like watching a jar of ants. You know what's going to happen, but it's still fun to see how the tunnels get dug. You saw Jay first hand in training camp, and I suspected this type of year from Plummer based on his every other year history... so I expected it to happen... :giggle:

Well you are a bit handicapped here because you are attempting to make a case about a community that existed before you joined it.
The Mane is still a good Broncos Board, there was a time however when it was much more fun and that is not something you can argue against because you did not experience it. As to those posters you offer negative opinions about I wish you had left that alone as this is not what the thread is about, it's about the fact they have left or post considerably less not about what you personally thought of their value to the board.

Well you are a bit handicapped here because you are attempting to make a case about a community that existed before you joined it.
What are you talking about? I'm just showing you almost all the posters you were upset weren't here anymore are still here and posting at the same rate they always do. Whether or not I came in 2004 doesn't change the fact that they are still here now.
The Mane is still a good Broncos Board, there was a time however when it was much more fun and that is not something you can argue against because you did not experience it.
I can't argue if something was more fun for you earlier nor would I try to do so. I can definitely tell you that it has been for me since I joined. I think it's been crazy lately because of the QB controversy but we're coming out of that so things will only get better. There are some final aftershocks of the upset Plummer-or-death crowd, but this too will pass.
As to those posters you offer negative opinions about I wish you had left that alone as this is not what the thread is about, it's about the fact they have left or post considerably less not about what you personally thought of their value to the board.
Man, what are you talking about? I didn't say anything negative about them! You're getting hysterical about problems that don't exist! If you are upset because I said a poster didn't post much, that's just the truth. You can't complain someone doesn't post anymore if they only post once a week and have only ever done so.
Look Baja, I was trying to show you that everything is fine and the people you like are still here. As to whether or not it's as "fun" for you as it used to be, that's totally subjective and everyone will have a different answer. All I can tell you is almost all of the people you were worried have left us are still right here and posting as we speak. I would ask you to consider if your sour mood is a result of the team losing and the fighting over Cutler Plummer before you worry we're living in a ghost town in the making.

Getting heavily involved in politics makes a lot of people bitter and miserable. I decided it wasn't worth it and moved on. I still have my views and I still follow it but not like I used to. Life is much better than a lot of people think it is. :)

You have a point BM. I guess I am distraught with the knowledge that the United States is slowly day by day being turned into a police state and only a few even see it. I have seen other sites go through these growing pains. It usually is cyclical and things will calm down. I bet you see times where the old timers make a rebound then leave. there are quite a few actually.
alot of grate (spelled that way on all GD related sites  ) people, and alot of grate memories to be shared.
some of the kindest people you could hope to meet. ive had numerous cd's sent to me simply because i made a comment in the forum about a particular show, and the person reading had a copy of it (if you werent aware, we deadheads are BIG into the taping/trading/sharing of GD shows through the years) and sent it just to be a nice person and asking nothing in return.
also, i think its important to note that the fact that jerry has passed does NOT mean that there isnt new GD related music being played and created.
as the GD song says "the music never stopped."
there are many GD related sites and boards, though my opinion is that ratdog.org is FAR AND AWAY the best of the bunch.
bob weir (rythm guitarist and along with jerry took turns singing lead through all the years) has his own band ratdog, and they play 2 set GD style shows.
about 60-70% of it is GD songs, and the rest is made up of new material and some classic cover tunes (dylan, willie dixon, chuck berry, john lennon, etc.).
his band is playing longer, louder, and stronger than ever before, and some of the shows are so powerful as to warrant a comparison to the pre-jerry material.
anyway, tell your pops to come on board.
tell him i said its time to get on "the bus to never ever land".
he'll know what it means.
im "gdjake" over there. peace :peace:

kaylore might even appreciate this one.
2/21/95 at the delta center in SLC.
one of the grate things about a band that plays different songs every night is their ability to wow a crowd with the setlist.
for the 1st time at this show, the opener was bobby's song "salt lake city", and then the 2nd tune was jerry's "friend of the devil" which features the line "...i spent the night in utah and he came up in the hills."
needless to say, the crowd went bananas.
ahhh, the memories.

most of us are on the computer so we CAN keep it going.
"what a long strange trip its been" indeed, and the trip isnt over.
we carry jerry with us wherever we go. he's in our hearts and souls.
we share our memories, we share the music (both new and old), and we try and spread the word.
also, MANY of us settled down, had families, cut our hair, and joined society.
im definately one of those people, as the people i work with now cant believe it when they see pics of the same guy with long blonde hair halfway down his back (held out of my face with a rolled up bandana) wearing a tye dye, cut off jeans, and sandals.
heck, i MYSELF cant believe it sometimes!! :P
still though, in our HEARTS we never "got off the bus".
we never changed our basic belief system.
its not about drugs, long hair, or being a peta member (im a carnivore).
its about being the best person you can be.
its about trying to spread LOVE in a world where hate is much more readily available.
that never changes, and neither does our love for the dead!!

Well the reason why i post at http://www.thesouthstands.com more for football than the OM - is i can actually get into a more or less 'real' discussion withsomeone. It's so hard to keep up with 6billion duplicate threads that all have the same converstation with different players.
That's my reason, in a nutshell. I still post but, as you say, it's hard to keep individual debates going with a lot of stuff to wade through. I actually like to post most frequently in the offseason. Overall board activity is down and it's easier to have sustained debates. Plus, speculating about free agency and the draft is a lot like waiting for Christmas if you're a diehard.

I'll tell you what, it's nowhere near as ugly in here now as it was when Jake was making his exit. That's because, by and large, Jake is a likable player. It got much uglier with Griese because folks couldn't keep themselves from really laying on the hate when talking about the guy.

I'm not on that list but i've slowed my posting to a crawl anymore. This site has turned into broncosbashers.com as far as i'm concerned. Way too many chicken littles running around here off of their leash.
Just an observation.I've only been here since August but I have to agree. Whether it's oldtimers or newbies to me this site has seemed more like a place for people to bash than to confirm the good. I know the Jay/Jake debated was heated and it's probably played a big part in it. Still it's amazing to me how many old and new posters on this site are ready to jump off the bandwagon and concede the season.
Back in the day (before the net) any true Broncos fan may have ranted a little bit about the problems of the team but this site seems to take the negative spin to a whole new level.

It's the nature of the net IMHO. It's a good thing digital pitchforks and torches can't do any lasting damage or the whole world would be ripped apart by bloggers. It doesn't transfer to the real world though. I got into a great conversation with a lady last night at Union station. She saw my hat, was a fan, and decided to join me for a bite to eat and talk about the team.
Why did we jump to a lead against SD at our house? It was the 12th man. Broncos fans are still as rabid, at least in person. It's the internet that allows us to gripe in annonymity fueling the fires of negativity. Chalk it all up as worst case speculations and realize that the crowd at the stadium and the idiots in front of the TV's (like me) still cheer just as long and loud as they always did.

A poster from the ESPN boards sent me here in 2003....I also knew gunns and Alec, GreatBronco, cupster33 and a handful of others who I'm drawing blanks on.
I'm glad I got to know a handful of the posters on here personally. They know who they are.
I have to give a huge shout out to Meck, Disco, AK and the rest of the tailgate crew. Some great memories there.
I've met some classy husker fans that don't feel obliged to tell you how classy they are here, that was refreshing.
TJ and crew run the site the best they know how, sometimes I don't agree but it's still a damn good site.
I think the WRP forum has a carry over effect to the other forums here and the mud that's slung over there gets the rest of the board dirty.
There are a bunch of good posters who I've definitely not seen eye to eye with but I respect there views/takes.
Anyways, Cheers! Go Broncos!

Not sure what happened to all of these guys/gal but you are right Baja. They were/are all great posters. I really miss TNS's takes. All of the guys on there are obviously great people and all of them have/had great takes. But, TNS was a Raider fan that was grounded and could talk football like few others on the Mane. His game was well rounded and he could talk BIG 12 football for days. A diehard Aggie fan that's not afraid to give a Longhorn credit is the epitomy of somebody that keeps it real. I hope he is doing well. Last I heard from him he was still in Bryan/College Station. Not sure what he's doing these days? IMO, he's a rival fan that brings it just as strong someone like Patswin. Hopefully he'll come back around and everything is going well in his life. Same with the rest of your list. I hope all is well with them. Greg, Randy, Bryan and several others from that list are people that I consider friends in addition to fellow Bronco fans.
Atlas is correct too. There are a lot of new posters that have great takes as well. We're a board divided right now but we'll get over it and all come back strong as ever. I think Khan said it best when he said it will get worse before it gets better. As with our Broncos we have to make adjustments or get adjusted rather, to the new personnel as well.

I agree with that Errand. Sometimes it's easier to just not post on the Mane b/c you know your POV isn't always shared by everybody else...which leads to attacks and then you feel compelled to attack back or defend. Not to say I'm not guilty myself. Slap, of all people, pointed it out to me a few months ago and I've made it a point to 'try' not to post at all if I don't agree. Though I freely admit that I can't always hold back.

Well I was at CU Boulder struggling trying to find what I wanted and partying my way out of school. I decided enough was enough and ever since I could talk I wanted to be a pilot.
I was working one summer and heard an ad for Metro States Aviation program. Next semester I was enrolled and on my way to being a pilot. Started flying and got an offer from the Navy to finish school and then enter flight school. Well I went and took my physical and found I had a slight lazy eye and could not get it to achieve 20/20 even with glasses. So again I was stuck trying to figure out what I wanted to do.
Long story short I ended up switching my major to Aviation Management. I applied for an internship at Centennial Airport and got it. From day one I loved my job. I am not stuck at a desk, I get to be outside, and I manage aircraft emergencies and get to help people in trouble.
It so very wonderful to love what you do, that's a great blessing.

I was close to taking an FAA Avi Inspector position about a year ago. Would have taken rotations for Incident Investigations as part of the "other duties as assigned". I think it would have been challenging and interesting, but the location wasn't right.
You should look into NTSB investigation. They do all the big wrecks. FAA really only investigates crashes to find fault as in with the pilot. They spend more time going after the pilot rather than the cause. NTSB is the one who tries to find out why and then mandates the FAA find a solution.

Its amazing what a difference it makes. I get up and want to go to work. My friends all talk about how much they dread Mondays. I am very fortunate.
For what it's worth there some great books/ exercises for improving lazy eyes.

I actually bought a program a pilot set up to improve vision. I just never have gotten into getting it corrected. Pick up enough pieces of an airplane and see enough chared remains it takes the joy of flying away.

I overlooked his name, honest mistake....lighten up baja, sheesh. As soon as I read Spider's post I realized you were being felicitous. No need for the insults.
I'm not sure "felicitous" is the word you're looking for there...

I almost got hired at the FAA in Dallas about three months ago but they went with somebody who had more experience.
Frankly I never thought of looking at the NTSB. Wouldn't they want somebody who is a certified pilot though?

Generally the NTSB wants someone who at least has a commercial license and about 2500 hours. So that may be out but you never know.
As for the FAA there is a lot of opportunities in Air Traffic Control right now as there are a lot of retirements coming. Be leary though as there is a huge war right now between the Controllers union and the FAA. Basically they couldn't come to an agreement on a contract so the FAA sent it before congress and asked them to mediate it. Congress sent it back saying they didn't have the time to deal with this. At that point the previous contract stipulated that if Congress doesn't intervene and all other methods have been used the FAA's last best offer goes into service. So all the controllers that were making 90,000 just took a 20% pay cut and all new hires make about half of that now. The FAA is in a very precarious moment right now as they are trying to be funded by the airlines not the government. That in itself scares me as the big 4 airlines will have all control and things will change big time.

Yeah I figured they would.
I'm an engineer so I doubt I'll sign up with the ATC.
I've noticed that the hirings at the FAA have vitually stopped recently.

not a problem

What kind of Engineer? If you are a civil engineer I have lots of contacts for you. We employ a design build firm to do all our rehab and upgrade projects. That is if you are looking.

I have a buddy who just got his PhD from UT in Aerospace Engineering. He works up in Boston now with an Aerospace firm. I can contact him if you want. I also have another friend whos dad is in with Lockheed Martin.
Another idea for you to look into is the new Very Light Jet market that is coming on board. There is this rush to get the jets certified. People like Honda, Piper, Adam Aircraft, Eclipse, and a few others are in the design and testing phase right now. We have Adam Aircraft and ATG Javelin based here so I can call over and see what is going on. I speak with the CEOs quite often so I can get a decent pulse.

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.
But february made me shiver
With every paper I’d deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.
I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.
So bye-bye, miss american pie.
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock ’n roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?
Well, I know that you’re in love with him
`cause I saw you dancin’ in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues.
I was a lonely teenage broncin’ buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died.
I started singin’,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
Now for ten years we’ve been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin’ stone,
But that’s not how it used to be.
When the jester sang for the king and queen,
In a coat he borrowed from james dean
And a voice that came from you and me,
Oh, and while the king was looking down,
The jester stole his thorny crown.
The courtroom was adjourned;
No verdict was returned.
And while lennon read a book of marx,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died.
We were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.
Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?
We started singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devil’s only friend.
Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satan’s spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
The day the music died
He was singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I’d heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn’t play.
And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.
And they were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
They were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die."
