Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but the Bolts gameplan was masterful. Kind of like Shanny taking Eugene Robinson out of SB XXXII by lining up Shannon Sharpe away from the play.
This time, I guess they noticed we stuck 180-pound Dominique Foxworth at SS. But they weren't content just beating Foxworth with the much-bigger Gates. They moved Gates to wide receiver - for most of the first half at least - and played the 290-pound tank Manumaleuna at tight end.
We have small corners as it is, but this shift made it impossible to beat either Gates or Manualeuna, How many times did those bodies just bounce our DBs around? Champ on one TD, Lynch on the other.
Maybe McCardell's injury forced their hand, but it was brilliant nonetheless.
