He has to go IMO. What should we do with him?

Well the D's performance today was putrid, but it felt like they just beat us rather than getting out-coached.

Name one call in that game that was a bad call on D? Every play they made they just out played us. Lynch got pushed off. Gates made a grab in double coverage between D-wil and Champ for crying out loud. Every play we called we had guys in the right spots to make plays.

We got killed on D-wil and D-line.

I got mad after SD converted the 3rd & 8 mid way in the 4th to Gates but over all the D kept us in it after stinking up the joint in the 1st 1/2.

Dwill is worthless, in coverage, run support, & Punt returns (-4 yards WTF!)

Dline was owned all day Gates owned Champ & Lynch....

Guess D was over matched. Much like Indy was vs Jags...

D-Will looked like he was hit by a bout of vertigo today. Still think he’s a good corner, just had bad day. Coyer had players in the right position all day. They just got beat.

Hey, we married this stupid 4-3 defensive system. I've said for years now that we should have looked into the 3-4. It is easier to draft for and find good players. Instead we stick with this formation where you have to pay $hit loads of money to the down linemen and our organization doesn't like to do that because they like to rotate.

Newsflash, until we get some pass rush we are going to need three more Champ's roaming the secondary to keep teams from throwing all over us.

Thats the truth.

Is it really? I really don't know. I would think finding those tweener players would be very difficult. How many teams are trying to draft the next Shawne Merriman? Anyway, I don't really know and the draft isn't my strong suit, so that's why I asked.

Larry Coyer sucks he does have to go. obviously antonio gates was all over the field and he still couldnt get a scheme set up to stop him. I honestly think Hamza Abdullah would be a better option at safety than foxworth. foxworth is to small and cant tackle well in run support. he got ran over countless times. there definately needs to be a new D coordinator in town though.

i say suit coyer up and have him rush the passer.
if that doesn't work, make him come up with at least two game plans for each game (half)

At one point Coyer put Lang on Gates...that about sums up what I think of Coyer. This defense just can't get the stops we need in crunch time.

You know who DOES need to go is Patterson, the DL coach who brought all the Browncos over and Jacob Burney as well.

if shanny doesn't have the balls to get rid of Coyer

Coyer is a turd. The only reason he looked good in the beginning of the season is because of superior talent on the field and we played some weak ass offenses. He has been exposed.

True, but we also have some injuries and some serious problems on the D Line. We need to draft a stud DE in this years draft. A guy like Gaines Adams would be nice. :)

When you don't have the personnel that can put pressure on the QB, you can't fool them with smoke and mirrors. I say tell Champ to play 20 yards off his man and dare them to throw the ball. When Brandon went down, we no longer had the type of player needed to match up with Gates or Gonzalez. Lynch certainly isn't quick enough and neither are our linebackers. It was a gallant effort by Fox but 80 - 100 lbs giveaway is too much. I didn't see one effective blitz by the linebackers today and I haven't been impressed by their pass coverage all this year.

How many times did I see our players miss a tackle today on LT today. What a player but some of those should have been made.

How dare you question Coyer.

Sure, his teams continue to go ass-up against decent offenses, but it's GOT to be everything else and NONE him.

I mean, no pass rush, guys out of position all day... that couldn't POSSIBLY have anything to do with scheme.

It's perfectly normal to give up 30-50 points any time you face a quality offense.

See, the thing is.... teams like Oakland and Tennessee have SO much more talent than us, they can hold Indy and San Diego to less points.

Get it?

So, don't you dare attempt to penetrate Larry Coyer's cushy protective layer.

Of course you fire him. The retard has been given way too many ****ing opportunities. His scheme is garbage, and it has been exposed for quite some time. He can't adjust, and that's why the defense is getting their ass kicked. Keep talking about how "we have no pass rush" and all that ****. You people were saying how we had "no cornerbacks" to cover Peyton's bitches, then we get Champ, and draft a couple of good rookies yet it's still the same results. Wonder how Miami gets it done? Look at their average defensive line. You think they got better players than us on defense? I think not.

LOL Yeah, Jason Taylor never did anything in the league and he couldn't hold Kenard Lang's jock.

So, the 2-1 margin to have Coyer fired in this thread means people feel he's "average," right?

What about the rest of the turds. Vonnie Holliday? Ekuban will beat him anyday.

I think just about every team in the league has a better defensive line than we do. We've got a lot of role players, but precious few bonafide studs.

It's funny how people still support this idiot of a DC. He's been given so many opportunities yet fails all the time.

At some point you'd break down to a mouse also if your offense was poor, turnover prone, and had no confidence. The offense needs to give the defense their paychecks for the first half of the season and then be docked the remaining amount for a no show performance this year. This team has many questions ---> the WR coach who can't seem to come up with a #3 WR after 15 applicants; the DL coach who can't get 1 sack in 6 games except when Dummervil gets his turn to rotate; the offensive coordinator and Shanny need to trim that playbook and tailor it for the new Cutler offense; the qb coach --> why is Cutler fumbling snaps from nails - it's the third week of this BS; the special teams coach - wait, is there one?; the offensive line coach for allowing Foster to degenerate; this team has no swagger, no confidence, and have already written their season off - you could see it in the first quarter vs the Chargers.

It's not the offense's fault the defense sucks ass.

We tried that excuse around here and it's been effectively shown to be incorrect, basing it on any number of things ranging from our production v. other team's production, to historical comparisons.

Our defense sucks because it sucks. It doesn't suck because of Jake Plummer, Jay Cutler, the water boy, the popcorn vendors.

They just can't play. Our front four is useless, our LBs are undersized, we're beat up at safety and one of our CBs looks like he doesn't know where to be half of the time. Then there's the scheme question.

We came right out of the gate giving up TDs this week. I think we had one stop before the flood gates opened. (Pun not intended.)

True, quality defenses don't need their offense to "protect" them all the time. They go out and get it done, despite low offensive outputs. (See Chicago, Baltimore, Miami, etc.)

You give us Baltimore's defense right now and we'd likely be in the SB hunt.

Give us their offense and we'd be in the toilet.

Defense wins championships, and as you see EVERY year... the gimmicky bull**** teams like Indy are starting to fall off, while playoff-style teams like San Diego, Baltimore, Jacksonville are getting hot.

Teams that can smash the ball down people's throats and play lights out (pun not intended) defense shine at this time of year.

Bull**** teams who need their offenses to baby their defense (like us and Indy) get smacked around this time of year. Yesterday was proof positive.

I've been posting this same thing for years. Hopefully I won't have to post it next year.

I agree with this totally and I've said, similar to friends for years as well. I hate to disappoint you Popps you'll be saying same stuff next year. I really don't think Denver will upgrade the DL that much like they should. I can see them adding 1 DL but, no more. I want 3 new DL but, I flat out don't expect it. Until Denver realizes what we as fans see it will be the band aide fix like last 6 years.
