I love my Broncos too and saw a lot of upside in today's loss. Still sucked to lose. Especially to those fans whom the majority of, are bandwagonners.

I still like to think back to the days when that ****hole was half full and the half of the half that were there, were Bronco fans.

I don't have a lot of respect for that.

Kudos to LT though. He's a classy guy. Merriman is Ray Ray Jr., just without the murder rap....yet.

This year is the year that marks a period in my life where I have lived in Kansas City longer than I lived in Denver.
I hate the Chiefs more today than I ever have.

I'm surrounded by Chief this and Chief that every moment of every day.
If I was going to switch my allegiances and become a fan of the team that plays in the city I live in...
it would have happened by now.

I hate their stupid team.
I hate their stupid stadium.
I hate their stupid uniforms.

I am a Denver Broncos fan.
It was the first football team I ever pulled for as a kid and I grew up in New York City before the team was even founded.

There was just something about the fact that they played in a city that was a "Mile High".
As a kid that was magical.

When I was sent to Denver by the Air Force in the early 1970's the team found a place in my heart that will NEVER be replaced.

So, whine on fair weather fans.
With you or without you...I could care less.
I love the Broncos.
Win or lose.

I must say this loss and the acrimony over the QB position has not been that much fun. But win or lose I will keep coming back to see the Orange and Blue every week. And I will be here everyday in the off season to check out all the rumors, moves and opinions. Even if half of them are less than positive. I can only imagine how crazy things are going to be when I move back to Denver In a month when the season is done and the mud slinging begins.

I'm in complete agreement with 2times. I'm close enough to Kansas City to hear about "Chiefs this and Chiefs that". In fact, it's a blessing in disguise when I get to hear about the sky falling (like I will tomorrow...!Booya! ). I don't think complaining about parts of the team means you aren't a fan for life. If people aren't bitching about giving up 129 points like today, then we are like Cardinals fans.

The bar is high, but I haven't heard anyone say they won't be a fan anymore because of the losing streak.

But I did see that at chiefsplanet several times today.

Broncos are not a team that stays down. I think this is a wakeup call for the team and they will certainly find their way back to the top. I think the fans needed to Plummer fail just like they need to see Cutler win.

The team needs to find itself again and is several players away from being any kind of playoff team. Being pissed off about it doesn't make the beer taste better or the brats settle in right.

Enjoy the games.

I remember going to school during the Broncos Super Bowls in the 80s. We had Bronco Friday during the week of the SB and I would dress up and be all happy and we would beat up the kid wearing his Raiders jacket. Then we would come in Monday depressed after another whoopin. That was Elementry School.

I also remember the SB wins and skipping my classes in College to go to the SB parade.

Then the Griese era, ugh!

My life is benchmarked by the Broncos. I will never, ever be a fan for any other team than the Broncos.

Me and Master Pain were in awe man. That one over the middle to Sheffler was a thing of BEATUE!!!

He looks like a college QB who was able to force things, and he still thinks he can, but once he gets over that (maybe never) he is golden! :strong:

Ugly ones were actually his deeper stuff, he couldnt get it over JW's shoulder, and almost got that one picked.

We made the trip down, endured the berating from the new, band-wagon fans down there and still had a great time.

I'll always call for improvements, like any good fan should. But, like I'm in the process of teaching my son... you find out what kind of fan you are when you're losing. Anyone (see San Diego) can show up when times are good.

If you love this team, you SHOULD be livid about what's happened over the last few weeks. No matter what aspect you want to blame, you should be irate. (In a sports-sense, of course... keeping it all in perspective.)

It'll get better, and all of the great fans around here will get to reap the rewards, as we have in the past.

I hope to God he learns not to force it. I think his deep passes were bad because he didn't have enough time in the pocket. Strangely his best pass came after he rolled out away from the rush and then stopped planted and threw a frozen rope to Sheff for the TD. That right there made me excited.

Ludo how did Cutlers passes look in person. The good ones and the bad ones. On TV Cutlers passes looked amazing.

A few good, a bunch bad.

The bad news out of the way first...

He's still a rookie and playing like one. The "best chance to win now" business was just babble spit out to coincide with what amounted to playing darts blind-folded.

The good news is, he showed the proverbial "flashes" today. At times, he settled down and looked like he was just out there flinging the ball around.
God help the NFL if this kid can do that full-time, coupled with a better understanding of what's going on around him.

I just watched most of the game, Tivo-style, again. So, I saw it live, and on tape today. There's definitely a lot to be excited about with regards to his potential.

Well I think he made enough improvement from last week to make me think he will continue to get better. I know Taco mentioned this in the Chat today but I wonder what in the heck is up with that weird double pump he has. Phil simms made a point that it was him trying to let the play develop but he double pumps to the guy he is throwing to. he needs to work on that. I really think he will be good for us!

Popps

It does seem to telegraph his throws a bit. I only noticed it a couple times, but I know what you're talking about.

One thing that I like so far is that he really seems to feel the pressure coming. That's just so crucial. In fact, on his TD pass to Sheffler, he felt the pressure, scooted out to his right and made the play. He always seems to be aware where the rush is coming from. That's a great, early sign.

theAPAOps5
12-11-2006, 04:50 AM
That first TD to Sheffler was amazing. It was like that Pre-season game where he rolled out stopped and hit Kircus for the TD. He feels the pressure but he also gets hit from the backside and fumbles. A lot of that is on the line. I really think the Shot Gun helped today as well. The thing that amazed me most today was his pass to Walker where he threw a laser beam into triple coverage and the only person who could catch it was Walker. His velocity is what makes me giddy for him.

Unlike the past few years where we have built the team "around the running game," it seems we will have a player to build around for the forseeable future. It's a little early, but kind of like a Manning thing. If we continue to build around the multi-receiver sets and get some blocking, it will be an awesome run on offense.

Going down, down, down. The backlash of this isn't going to be pretty. You thought it was bad in Denver when they decided to bring Hawkins back... just wait. McD better secure himself some additional time and tell the front office and more importantly Pat Bowlen that he is going to address the OL and DL in free agency and then draft a QB early to develop. That is the ONLY way he makes it out of this alive.

Broncoman13

And to be clear, it isn't all on Orton. It's more about McD buying himself time while he develops his own QB.
