Anyone else see that play? Why is it that the media thinks we miss that a-hole? What a weak ass effort on a play where his team was totally counting on him.
It's not like it was Champ Bailey or Dangelo Hall on the other end of that. It was a weak ass former Raider that can't stay on a team.

I don't have the game what happend? I am sure he either dropped it or stopped short for fear of the hit.

He didn't fight for the ball on a fade route.

Atlanta was in the redzone. They threw a fade route to Lelie. Buchanon hit him in the chest and he quit on the play. Ball got picked in the endzone.
That's why he's not a Bronco. He's great at the 40 yd bomb, sucks ass in tight areas where he must get physical.

I go both ways on this. I want you all to know i hate Lelie as much as everyone else.... i equate him to Eddie Kennison quitting on his team. I still feel he would have been great to have on this team... just like if Kennison would have stepped up the year McCaffrey got hurt.... it would have been invaluable.
Considering how Rod SMith has plummetted downhill with his play... Lelie would have been great to have on the team, and since it was the last yyear on his contract if he played his a$$ off who knows what would have happned. the guy is still a HUGE deep threat and can stretch defenses and keeps them honest.
we don't miss him in that he is the x-factor that would have made this team a superbowl contender when we aren't now... but i think he makes the team much better offensively... which is an area we have clearly been suffering in this year

I don't think that many would argue that Lelie is a good threat to have. But he wanted to be a #1 (and paid like it), which he clearly is not. And I disagree with your point about Rod. The truth is that Rod carried Lelie by taking all the underneath stuff. With Rod's production dropping we may have had to call on Lelie to catch more intermediate routes -- his weakness.
If Lelie were willing to stay on this team as the #3 or #4 WR, then I'd be all for it.

Good point about Rod carrying Lelie with the underneath routes... couldn't agree more.
Lelie's attitude was such that we had to get rid of him, no question about it. I am not saying we should have kept him.... but if he did play for us and stayed on the team i think he would have worked his way up to being the #2 guy and he would be a very valuable player right now that makes our offense better.

I'm glad things worked out the way they did. I wouldn't want Ashley on this team now and I'm elated we recouped a high third rounder and a fourth rounder next year for his pillowy soft ass.
